I've only been to two Indian restaurants in Pensacola, so I can't quite say this one is the best, but it's definitely good and was the better of the two. I've dined in and taken out at Indian Grill and it's been a great experience both times! The staff is friendly and helpful and food is ready pretty quick whether you're dining in or taking out. I've tried the chicken tikka masala and paneer tikka masala twice and they're both delicious. They both come with rice. The paneer here is pretty tasty! I've also tried the tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, and a few of their naan options. Their naan is very good, and I plan to try the roti with my meal next time. By far, my favorite dish here is their bhindi masala (okra masala). I visited India a few years and that was always my favorite dish, and this reminded me of eating bhindi in India! If you want to step away from the typical chicken/paneer tikka masala order, definitely try the bhindi! Medium level spice has a good amount of spice if you're like me and don't love extreme spice levels but still like a kick! I highly recommend Indian Grill. My take out arrived in good time, consisting of a House Special (chicken, 1 shrimp, a couple of pieces of lamb in a tomato based sauce (ordered medium spicy; Garlic Naan, Naan, and an appetizer, Onion Bhajiah. Worst Indian food I have ever had. It was what I would imagine Indian food would taste like if I got it from the frozen food section of family dollar. If this was my first time trying Indian food, I would never eat it again. If you want to know more go to Google and check the reviews. I'm not the only one on there talking about how bad it was. There was hardly no one in the restaurant when I walked in and I could tell why afterwards. I had curry and it was just ok. Small portion with a big price tag. Nan was ok too but it was chewy and doughy. Plenty of parking, service is ok at its best. Will I try again for consistency? No. I think it would be better if they make it more $friendly. $18/$19 for curry to me is too much. There are much better options for the price. My Dad wanted Indian food for his Birthday and recommended we try Indian Grill. We were very happy with our entire experience. The gentleman who waited on us was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and the medium spice had a good kick to it. We got a variety of appetizers and a few different dishes to share. It was all very tasteful and had such wonderful flavor. It's truly an experience taking in all the ingredients and spices. At the end of our meal they even brought my Dad a complimentary Indian Birthday dessert. We will definitely be back! Two stars is somewhat generous, this is definitely the worst Indian food I've had. We came for the lunch buffet and I was immediately disappointed. The selection was very small and looked dried out. The naan bread was old and soggy and the tikka masala was bland with rubbery chicken. The potato dish was the only thing somewhat okay. The staff was also very awkward. We weren't offered drinks and there were no napkins anywhere. The host just stood behind the counter and people had to come up and ask for drinks, the check, etc. I would never come back here. We get there, has no clue where we are, and doesn't have our order. We show him the receipt (on our phone) which he looks at and puts the order in right there, so we wait. (which is fine) The kicker, we got home and one of our main dishes wasn't there, tried to call back to get it credited back onto our card... he was very rude telling us basically, too bad, he doesn't deal with the money? Didn't even offer to give us the dish they left out. Did I mention the rudeness? Staff is helpful and friendly when choosing what to order. The food is delicious here. The only indian spot I go to in town. Portions are big if you don't eat much. I can't ever finish my meals because I get filled up so quickly, but so delicious. The facility is clean and peaceful inside. They offer military discount, which is nice. I am glad to be the first review for this restaurant. My son and I visited this restaurant in hopes to finally find good Indian food from the naan bread to the butter chicken. I am so happy we finally found a place that covers all bases. 1. Atmosphere/service: Clean, quaint and relaxing. All though they are still in the process of decorating it is off to a great start. The service was great, our server was nice and willing to do what it took to make our visit great. 2. Food: We started with an appetizer of Samosas (vegetable mixture wrapped in filo dough and deep fried) which was very good. My son had Tandoori chicken ( which is kind of an Indian version of fajitas minus tortillas). Very flavorful and well cooked. I ordered the Butter Chicken ( this is chicken in a sweet tomato/creme and seasoning curry style sauce) which I get at every Indian restaurant. This is the BEST in Pensacola. The serving was a little smaller than expected but ended up being enough since we ordered rice and garlic naan bread (which is the best in Pensacola also). They also have a lunch buffet which I have not tried yet. But, if its anything thing like the dinner we had it will be great. I am so glad we stopped and gave it a try. This restaurant is in a strip mall. The service is pretty slow. The prices are pretty fair. The food was pretty good. Please note that a staple of my diet (rice) was non-compliant for me at this restaurant because they added milk in the cooking process. I told them I was vegan and the waiter instantly told me about the rice. Instead, I had roti with was some of the best roti I have ever had. I had two entree's: A vegetable dish and my old stand-by chana masala. Both came out very hot (temperature) and both were very good. My spouse ordered paneer tikka masala but somehow came out only as chicken tikka masala. Our dining buddy ordered a cheese and chicken skewer dish and it was very delicious to him. Honestly the best Indian food in this area. If you want the best experience eat there and don't do take out. My husband and I were doing take outs for more then a year and finally had the chance to go in realized the food just taste better when it's piping hot and esp because naans are fresh. We go their once to twice a week now. Only down side is their waiters are not fluent in English or Hindi so it takes a while to explain to them how spicy we like our food. If you can ignore this slight flaw you won't be sorry. Husband always orders lamb special or goat Nihari with garlic naan. I order paneer makhani with garlic naan. The food here is always delicious! The staff are always willing to answer any questions about potentially unfamiliar food. You can choose the heat level of your meal, so you can really crank up the heat if you want or keep it on the tamer side if you prefer. Gentleman only charged for 1 buffet for both kids that's a nice gesture. Even then $9.99 per buffet is way expensive for setup, menu, quality and service provided. Delicious Authentic- you can tell these dishes are fresh and use quality ingredients. I grew up eating goat and Indian Grill brought back fond memories of my youth. Although back then it was seasoned with a southern influence, tonight's dish was a deep rich Indian curry flavor that was not cooked in 5 minutes. The chicken tikka masala appetizer was the bomb! I look forward to my next visit where I will start sampling all of their delightful menu options. 10/10 the best Indian food I've had in Florida. Service is fast - I typically order take out and so far it has been ready in precisely the amount of time they predict. Rice= at the end of my order I was asked if I wanted rice and said "yes." That's my bad. I was expecting the "keema rice" with turmeric and jasmine and such, but got just white rice. New location, place is pretty big and definitely clean. Food order process was easy and accommodating but the food is definitely pricey for the quantity and or quality. There were no condiments (raita, chutney, salads) with the food yet prices were matching with the places that offer those side items. Had a very poor experience here. We went in when there were only 2 families there. When we were ordering, we discovered that both of the people working there had no idea about anything on the menu. She had to go to the back multiple times to ask about food. Also, we had a lactose intolerant person with us and we learned that every single chicken item contains dairy. While waiting for our food, the other family ordered a sizzler which promply caused the whole restaurant to fill with smoke and cause us to start coughing. They need to improve ventilation to avoid this. When the food arrived, the biryani was very subpar and unimpressive. We further waited 15 minutes despite multiple reminders to recieve one of our naans "because the cooks didn't see it" so the food got cold while we waited for that naan. They are in desparate need of training and improved service. If you are hiring non desi people you must train them to have some level of understanding. However, the bathroom is clean. read more
