The staff at check in was great and made the check process easy. I had already filled out most of my information online but check in was smooth. I was quickly called back to an exam room and the attendant was professional and thorough. They explained they would need to take X-rays and that was handled quickly. However, once I got back to the exam room, the doctor took about 45 minutes to come to the room and do the exam and explain the X-rays. He was professional and explained everything in a straightforward manner and answered all of my questions. OrthoCarolina did a great job, it was the wait time that bothered me and there was no apology for the long wait time. I would recommend!

They really know their stuff. Beyond knowing their stuff is their continual dialogue with patients. On each appointment we began discussing how the exercises were working, how I was feeling, what is working or not. Then we would get into planning for that day and going forward. I was involved in the therapy. And we continued in this joint planning over a month of treatments. They administer a tablet form of survey asking about your condition and how it is affecting your life. After the therapy has run its course you complete the same survey, so they have a before and after record of your condition. Impressive and given the people cycling through this practice it was clear that the facility and all the therapists were doing something special. Good resource for most all of us.

I got selected for a random drug test to continue my medication. I asked for the cost and was informed of the copay, nothing further. Well, needless to say I was shocked when I got a $200 bill in the mail for a drug test THEY wanted to do to continue filling a medication I've been on for 10 years. Not happy about this at all. I've never had to take one before nor was it a yearly requirement or anything. If you come here, make sure it's for basic requests because there could be hidden charges for anything out of the norm.

She's encouraging to get me back on track but I'd rather hv an MD tho there's no female MD here taking new patients. Everyone is hospitable except the nurse for td seemed hurried, missing my true weight nbr n instead taking down whatever it "slowed down" to be. Oh well. The mammogram ladies td were nice but I couldn't get one done since it was all "booked up" td n also in December tho I didn't see any other customer in the bus besides me. Even as I type this outside its door, no one has popped out. It's probably a quota thing... so many a day? They suggested that I go to the Waverly Novant for it if I needed it sooner. So, if you're needing a mammogram soon, u'll need to go somewhere else. Mine is scheduled all the way in January. Make sure u make an appointment asap. I use to be able to just walk in but not anymore. I guess Waxhaw is busting at its seams.

I could not have been more pleased with this facility. Everyone here was just wonderful. Brittany spent all the time we needed with us. She was thorough, caring, informative and so helpful. My daughter felt that she was 100% listened to. There are other facilities closer to her apartment, but she decided the drive is completely worth it! Went in for an ear-ache and the Nurse Practitioner barely spoke to us during the exam. When she came back to the room she handed me a piece of paper and said, "This is for his prescription". That's it - I had to ask what was wrong with him! "Oh. It's swimmers ear". That was it, again. No explanation, no what to expect, no ways to avoid it in the future, etc... Care quality = Zero. They should be offering some kind of explanation. Even if it is only an ear-ache. Then, got the bill after my BCBS insurance paid nothing. The MOST EXPENSIVE VISIT EVER! $160. Ugh. We weren't offered a self pay option (which is often less). We haven't been to many Urgent Cares in the area but, have always paid less than $100. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you can!

Front office staff was friendly, even in the midst of being overwhelmed by the flu season. Check in was easy and fast. Charlie, my MA, was amazing. She had a quirky sense of humor that made a boring, routine visit to the doctor more pleasant. Dr. Tomcho was very pleasant and warm. She described herself as "anal" and I will say, this lady is THOROUGH! She didn't miss a single detail of my family history, down to the health history of my childhood pet! When it comes to your health, thorough is the requirement. Her demeanor was motivating and she made me want to take a vested interest in my health. She was encouraging yet challenging in areas where I need to improve. She had just the right balance of both. One warning.... because she is so thorough, Dr. Tomcho's appointments might last a little longer than the in-and-out ones you may be used to with other providers. I was anticipating my initial appointment with her to last 15-20 minutes but it exceeded that by far. She wanted to make sure she had a comprehensive picture to provide the best treatment. So, when I recently had a small medical issue that wasn't major, I decided to just find a local CHS-affiliated doctor's office to go to. The Medical Group of Waxhaw fit that bill, so I made an appointment to see the Physician's Assistant. She was very friendly and professional and I felt fine seeing her for a minor issue. She did bring Dr. Verrill in to consult and he was professional & friendly as well. I think if you are just looking for a decent family practice, they are just fine. However, I am not sure if I want to use this practice for my primary care though, as I normally like to select an Internist and unfortunately, they do not have any doctors on their staff that specialize in Internal Medicine.
