Disappointing experience as a franchisee - low attention to detail and poor execution during ramp…read morephase We worked with Curious Jane as a franchise marketing agency and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During our ramp phase, we experienced incorrect ZIP code targeting, which resulted in leads being generated outside of our designated territory. This is a critical failure for any franchise-based business, especially early on when budgets are tighter and campaigns should be closely monitored. The attention to detail was extremely low, which was particularly disappointing given that they were managing a local account for us. For a marketing company - especially one that positions itself as a franchise specialist, it was concerning to see so many avoidable execution errors. As issues were raised, responsibility was only partially acknowledged, and communication lacked clarity when we requested answers around specific metrics, targeting details, and performance data. We struggled to get clear explanations or transparent reporting. It ultimately took involving ownership for the concerns to be taken seriously, and by that point, the impact had already occurred. Unfortunately, once things reached that level, it was too late to recover lost time and ad spend. Additionally, they appeared to have difficulty balancing and accurately measuring ad spend across multiple marketing channels, which further complicated performance tracking and decision-making. To add to the frustration, the refund process was exceptionally long, prolonging an already drawn-out experience. This was not a case of ads simply underperforming, it was a breakdown in execution, monitoring, reporting, and accountability. For an agency advertising franchise marketing expertise, this experience fell well below expectations. I strongly encourage other franchise owners/ Marketing Specialists to ask very specific questions about geo-targeting safeguards, ramp-phase monitoring, multi-channel spend tracking, reporting transparency, escalation processes, and refund timelines before moving forward.
