My trip to the Algarves wouldn't have been complete without some diving.
Deciding where to stay and what school to use, all the top sites suggested Subnauta in Portimao. My gutt and feel just said keep looking. I'm glad i did because i found Jo and Steve at Indigo.
First and foremost, i'm a resort diver. I'm not a technical diver. My hobby doesn't translate to learning a multitude of facts and science yet. I prefer to learn as I go. Some places i've dove at globally shame you for being a resort type diver because they take it wayy to seriously and don't get the clients. Some places take it wayy to easy, doing everything for you in terms of service, but failing to teach you anything.
I've dove in a few countries now with many different schools, and i was really impressed by Jo and Steve. It was the best of both worlds all in one. They took the time to gauge my level and my friends level before hand. They suggested things that made sense. They helped providing useful information. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Their equipment was immaculate and you could see the effort being taken to ensure the quality of their equipment.
Another thing i found out later too, is that Jo is actually the most qualified certified diver in the entire region... and that made sense. She's a really nice person who's passionate about what she does, she's easy going, and a great teacher. Steve is cut of the same cloth. Global citizen with lots of stories and to share, and lessons to learn from it.
Highly recommend these guys for your dives if you're looking for a more personal experience and not the cookie cutter experience. And most of all - safety. read more
