When I arrived for my appointment, I had to wait over 15 minutes even though I had a reservation and it was relatively quiet. I had a bit of gel polish leftover that I had to have removed, but only on 4 nails. When I checked out, I was charged 40 pounds for my service. When asked about the price, the receptionist told me I was charged 15 pounds for the removal, and 25 for the manicure, both prices which are more than what is indicated on their price list. She was very unapologetic and couldn't explain to me the discrepancy. All in all, this manicure was not worth the money. I will not be going here again!

You start in a separate room with muted colours where hair is washed and where piped tasteful instrumental music plays in the background. Then through to the main cutting room. There's lots of space and the room is well lit. I'm always happy with my cut as Marc has two key skills of a stylist: Experience and the ability to collaborate with me on my cut, suggesting slight changes before he starts. As well as offering cuts and colours, as the name suggests The Spa also offer a range of beauty treatments including the Spa Experience, waxing, epilation and Botox.

The spa is nicely decorated in modern design and includes a hairdressers downstairs and a cafe on the lower level. Upstairs are where the treatment rooms lie. We were warmly greeted by the reception ladies and were taken downstairs to the cafe area to complete a personal details form. This part of the experience felt a bit rushed as we hadn't even finished completing our forms when the therapists came through to collect us for our treatments. We were then taken upstairs into our treatment room. I had opted for a detox body mask and was asked to complete another short form - allergies etc. My therapist was friendly and funnily enough was also called Lydia! The treatment involved lying on a warm massage bed, with a body mask put all over my body and then I was wrapped up in plastic with towels put on top of me so that the heat would work its magic and the mask would penetrate the skin. After about 10mins of relaxation with the lights turned off and cotton pads out over my eyes, it was time to wash the mask off in the shower. A body lotion then followed. Kenilworth is noted for its pretty buildings - but you'll be forgiven for not noting the one that houses Angels until you have to go inside. It's a wonderful deceptively large space, with higgeldy piggeldy rooms heading off each other all around. There are beams and doors that are cut in half to fit round them. It's a great atmospheric place, one of the last places you'd expect to find a salon I guess, but it works very well indeed as a rather welcome contrast to the halogen-lit clinical places that seem to breed unhindered in city centres. You can actually relax here, and it's nothing to do with the ubiquitous relax-a-music, moreso that the atmosphere encourages it. The girls here are lovely, very lovely indeed. They clearly have a dedicated client base who count themselves lucky to have found 'the Angels' and rightly so. Their work is very good indeed, waxing to manicures to tanning. And yet I've never found cheaper prices. They're a good lot.
