I can simply not recover from the exhilarating experience of eating at Indulgence. Even my husband walked away wild-eyed with post-Indulgence bliss. We both had the breakfast biscuit, mine a veggie construct and his the traditional version with fried chicken, bacon, and egg. First, let me say that he cannot cotton to a fried egg. Dem b*tches better be scrambled, and they better be scrambled HARD. So when his sammie arrived with a dang-ol unexpected fried one (shoulda been expected based on the menu), I thought "oh dang. Here we go..." His eyes grew large with a pinched brow and I said something like "is it awful?" He shook his head, though, mouth too full of food and psyche apparently too full of shock and surprise to speak. It's so good! He said at last. That should be enough said, but I got a quick shout-out for our homegurl Audrey, who was marvelously versed in the delectable content of the dessert case and very attentive, anticipating our needs effortlessly. Another huge selling point: 10:30am Sunday morning and there were still plenty of tables open. Btw, the butternut french toast is quite an exploration of flavor. It reminded me of thanksgiving, with the semisweet squash, enhanced by a sprinkling of powdered sugar and caramel drizzle, knocking with awkward elegance against a zesty sage seasoning... just the kind of experimental near-failure I love trying out. We are so lucky that the original place we intended for breakfast was closed and we went in search of a new spot. Yelp let us to this treasure. I cannot imagine another trip to Las Cruces without a breakfast at Indulgence. Everything about this place is perfect. The decor is so much fun and the walls are covered in local artists pieces that are for sale. The service was absolutely stellar and we never wanted for a thing. The handcrafted coffees are on point. I had the most interesting breakfast with Meg's Butternut French toast. It is nothing I would have ever thought to put together but was an absolute dream on a plate. Just thinking about it now makes me want to make the trip to have it again. Their bakery case is full of so many amazing things that I will most certainly try on my next trip. A cute little cafe, we stopped here on our cross country road trip and were happy we did. We ordered the Vegan Breakfast Bowl, Veggie Bisquits and Gravy, a French Dip and a Greek Salad. Wow wow wow at the bakery selection! I got 3 slices of different cakes for dessert and they were all sooooo amazing: New Mexican chocolate, Italian cream chocolate and the chocolate mousse. Every bite was divine. The New Mexican has a bit of cinnamon and a hint of cayenne. All these were made with dark chocolate which is the only chocolate I go for. We also ate lunch here which was also incredible. I had the cranberry salad with chicken and my boys went for the cheeseburger and Mac and cheese. Everything was devoured. I asked for the best beverage they had, and they didn't disappoint. I tried their Chicken Biscuit, Lemon Blintz and two of their cupcakes. While I thoroughly enjoyed both the Lemon Blintz and Chicken Biscuit. The Chocolate Chip Cheesecake stole the show. I 100% recommend this place. I ordered the Breakfast tacos, my boyfriend ordered the frittata (and added mushrooms, green chile, and spinach). Both were amazing. We ate every morsel on our plates...and then bought dessert. A LOT of dessert. The cream puffs? Oh my goodness gracious golly-gee-whiz. The raspberry was tart and perfect, the caramel was smooth and perfect. Black forest cheesecake? Amazing. We ordered a rhubarb bar and a mini-key lime cheesecake, but haven't tried those yet (saving them for after hiking later today!). As we walked out, my boyfriend said, "This place makes me want to live in Las Cruces" - and that pretty accurately sums up my feelings as well. This is more of a 3.5. I really, really liked this place, however, I can't just talk about what I loved and omit the bad. The first thing I noticed was the lack of clean tables. We found one, at least. There were probably six employees around, but no clean tables. What's up with that? We were way into enjoying our pastries when someone finally started to clean tables. The service was good. Friendly, slow to serve, and seemed all over the place. Once you walk in you can see a chalkboard where they have all of their coffee/drink selection. Because it's a bakery, we didn't think further other than coffee and sweets and they didn't say otherwise. It wasn't until we saw a meal come out that we realized they are also a restaurant. That sure was a weird one. Everything we ordered was delicious. I went with their indulgence coffee, and holy mother cow! That was amazing. Now, be aware, I'm not a coffee connoisseur, so I may just be talking gibberish here. Pastries were good, except for my friend getting an odd piece of a lemon custard bar. She kept mentioning it had a weird taste and smell and wasn't sure if it was the silverware or the pastry. ‍ We went with cheesecake and it was excellent. All in all, I liked this place. We were driving across the country and needed to eat something. Anything would do for lunch. Then my wife said she might have found something good. She read the description for Meg's Butternut French Toast and I said, "That!" When I opened it, I said, "What?!" I admit I felt disappointed because it didn't match my momentarily simplistic imagination. But it smelled very good. Very good. Eating despite the steering wheel and cramped quarters of the car, I was able to expand my horizons and wished only that I could be sitting at a table with this on a hot plate. Every bite was a different profile of savory and sweet. Some powerful with ham, some with butternut squash, some with syrup. It was filling but I kept wanting more. Had there been more, I would have stuffed myself. It was incredible. My mind was blown. This dish will be in my mind for months and already has me looking for reasons to drive back through New Mexico. From LA. My daughter couldn't finish her Mushroom Swiss Crepes, fortunately for me. It was delicious. I was glad my wife hadn't read that description or I would have been unable to choose. But actually eating it was a pleasure, even as I stuffed myself further. If I'm able to go back, I'll get both these dishes and eat half of each, possibly sharing with my wife, or not. No, I'll eat both. My son got the country fried chicken dish and liked it a lot. I didn't eat any of that so I can only say he had no complaints and was slightly annoyed when my wife wanted a second bite of it. We got the Cubano espresso drink and liked them. But maybe a straight latte would have been better for me. After the meals I ate, I wasn't capable of being impressed to the level of my food. And of course we left with cupcakes too. Everyone loved theirs. I didn't eat mine till evening, and it kept well till then. I got the salted caramel pecan something...there was a grittiness in the filling I couldn't understand, but the rest of it was amazing. The carrot cake was incredible. I only saw crumbs of the other two and don't know what they were, but it was clear they'd been devoured. In sum, this place is excellent. Everything was excellent. The people were excellent. And they all wore masks and kept distance. There was nothing to complain about that they could take care of. Only the distance from my home was a problem because finding a chance to go back will be difficult. Highly recommended. read more

What an amazing little gem in Las Cruces! The food is spectacular and the service is even better (which is hard to find in this town). I've been here for lunch three times now and I love it. The turkey club is very tasty! I am dying to try the mac and cheese and fried chicken biscuit sandwich but every time I've come, I've been trying to be good! Upon looking at the menu, my mouth was watering with all of the delicious options they have- especially the vegetarian and vegan options!! The inside is nice and cozy with natural light emanating through the restaurant. The building itself is beautiful and home feeling. I ordered the vegan breakfast bowl with both red and green chile and my SO ordered BJ's burger with French fries. Man was it good. I loved all of the perfectly sautéed veggies and delicious chiles. They make the veggie patty in house and it was great. This place makes a lot of their food in house and it definitely pulls through in flavor.
