I had the pleasure of working out of the Industrious Brooklyn office for a week while traveling for work. First, I'll just go ahead and say that Gina, the Community Manager, is wonderful. She loves her members and her members love her. You can tell that the entire community, while a lot of them work for many different companies, feel like they are a part of a bigger team. The highlights from Industrious (similar to some of the other locations I've seen) were certainly the community, hospitality, and design. There was breakfast from a local boutique bakery, locally roasted coffee, fruit water, and afternoon snacks every day. And it was all included! It was so nice to be able to just work out of the space and have access to everything I needed. I felt like I was in a premium hotel. Not to mention a ROOFTOP deck in New York? Who am I, Beyonce?! Speaking of the rooftop, lucky for me I was there for one of their events to kick off their Wellness Month. The event was Oysters & Rose on Friday afternoon (see pictures) - holy buckets this was AMAZING. The freshest oysters I've ever tasted, rose, cheese plates, charcuterie boards, desserts, chair massages, colorpuncture, and more! So many people came out and I got a chance to chat with a ton of people who had such wonderful things to say. Updated November 6, 2017 I was at Industrious Brooklyn from when it opened in February 2016 until I moved out in August 2017. There's an eclectic mix of people here that span multiple industries: high-tech, non-profit, film production & distribution. There's also an eclectic mix of people, which gives it the feel of the graduate center of a university (minus the talk of tenure & teaching schedule). There's an openness and friendliness and makes it easy to talk to people here. The best thing about Industrious is the staff. Leah Alexander was the first community manager, the second was Gina Kosty, and now the third generation of community managers is Alixandria Arungah. All have been dedicated to helping out in any way that they can, answering questions, lending an ear, or helping problem solve. Industrious gets an A+ in the community manager hiring department. Since Internet access is important to many people, it's worth pointing out that Industrious Brooklyn has a symmetrical 100 megabit connection (probably faster than what you have at home). You will also find the latest (and fastest) WiFi standards -- 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz -- are available. I work in high tech, and really appreciate having enough bandwidth to do all that I need to do. If you've suffered through the crowded, noisy coffee shop scene, you owe it to yourself (and your business and your clients) to get yourself a great work space that is very conducive to being productive. The bountiful amenities and warm, friendly environment is very conducive to breeding happy workers. And a happy worker is both productive and pleasant to be around. While year-long agreements are available, many people take the month-to-month option. You can move out with reasonable notice (30 days, I believe), so the risk of getting stuck in a long term arrangement is minimal. The downside is that the monthly fee can go up. While you might think of this as "rent", in the contract you are not a "tenant" but rather a member (or words to that effect). Having moving out a few months ago, it occurs to me that Industrious -- at least, the one in Brooklyn -- is largely a transitional space between when you move your office out of your house (or start your business) and when you sign a long-term lease of your own in your own space. I know quite a few folks who have done that, many of whom have ended up at Industry City in Gowanus. Perhaps the greatest problem with Industrious is the lack of good sonic isolation. In other words, you can easily hear what people in the office next to you are saying. Also sound from the hallways seems to "travel" a long way, with voices bouncing off the glass walls and entering every open door along the way. (Most folks solve this problem by keeping doors closed.) If you are happy wearing headsets and listening to music, this might not be much of a problem for you. It is certainly better than any coffee shop you might have experienced (from a sound / noise perspective). For some folks, however, this starts to wear on you and becomes a continual irritant. read more

This place is great! I actually don't mind coming into the office, I often WANT to come into the office... Wanna know why? Well, three days a week we have bergen bagels and spreads, the other two days we have delicious pastries and sometimes a parfait bar! There is unlimited coffee and seltzer water and sometimes, they have COLD BREW (office favorite!) Every day there is candy out for our midday sugar needs as well as fresh fruit and healthy snack bars. The staff at Industrious always go out of their way to make folks happy and to build a lil co-working community. Also, gotta shout out Gina-the most amazing Community Manager EVER, who does an amazing job organizing weekly gatherings, like happy hours, pilates classes, and is an amazing photographer and .gif maker. Other great things: Diverse crew of folks working together The bathrooms on the top floor are gender neutral Comfy and cute furniture Access 24/7 Awesome fast internet Printer is always working (Color and BW) Mail system (getting worked out) Conference rooms are super nice (could be more sound proofed) There is a cute bar/lounge for folks to use! Alexandria is awesome! Every morning have an amazing assortment of breakfast and every afternoon we have a great choice of lunches! Everything is always kept, clean and tidy! It is a great place to work! Above all, we left letters to be sent out; and the mail man didn't arrive until after Alexandria left. So she personally put all our letters in mail boxes to make sure they were delivered! read more

I've been working at Industrious Brooklyn since October 2017 and love the space. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully done, has a nice roof to work from when the weather is nice, and the team at Industrious are great - super helpful and friendly, creating a really nice work environment. They also provide breakfast and afternoon snacks and have a range of events that provide a nice opportunity to meet other organizations/businesses. It's a great range of people who rent office space from non-profits to start-ups and more established businesses. I highly recommend it! read more

As a small business owner I needed a place that was going to help me run my business. In all reality, I would have been good with a place with a small table- wifi and a restroom! However, I run a domestic household agency and needed a place to meet my clients and interview candidates. Industrious was a life saver. Not only do I have a cute office, but with my lease I have access to a conference room, common areas, networking events, coffee and yummy bagels! Plus the staff are sweet and helpful! I've worked in traditional office settings for the last 17 years of my career. So I was a little suspicious of a "co-working" space. But Industrious Brooklyn has made me a believer. The space is lovely. Common areas are beautifully furnished and comfortable. The offices come in a several different sizes and configurations with great desks and comfy chairs. The wifi never fails, and the printer/scanner/copier was intuitive and easy to use. Great conference rooms and private spaces are available for meetings and calls. I able to get to work on day one. The perks of coffee, breakfast, snacks and beverages were just a fantastic bonus. But Industrious Brooklyn is more than just good logistics. The office is filled with interesting people in various sectors. There are lots of great opportunities to mix and mingle (if that's your thing... there's no pressure). The Industrious staff folks are AMAZING. Super receptive to requests and questions. They keep things running smoothly. I actually found myself working in the common areas as frequently as my office because the gentle hum of people at work + comfy couches was the perfect equation to get me in the writing zone. Did I mention roof decks? And happy hours? Seriously... Industrious Brooklyn has got to be best in breed among co-working spaces. read more

She has a million people coming at her all day, events to coordinate, and problems to solve and she does it all with a smile on her face and a genuine interest in the community members. For a couple of years I worked from home. In January my co-worker and I were lucky enough to get a space at Industrious, just two blocks away from home. Honestly, I've never been so excited to come to work. The breakfast that's provided, the interior design, gender neutral bathrooms, access to so many trains, the option of working at my desk, on a couch or on the roof top deck!!! ALSO... the COLD BREW and endless seltzer. The amenities are everything I would want and more but I also have to shout out to the practical things that I no longer have to worry about because it's all provided (wireless Internet, a color copy machine THAT WORKS, etc). And finally, I really appreciate the diverse group of people I share this space with and the staff that help create a warm and welcoming space everyday-especially Gina. Months later I'm still so happy to be here and my socializing skills are really improving since I stopped working at home alone! read more

As part of a small start up company, I've worked in my fair share of shared office spaces. I can easily say that Industrious is my all time favorite. Aside from having everything you could want in a work space (ergonomic furniture, fast wifi, printers, conference rooms, etc), Industrious also provides workers a sense of community. Whether it's chatting over one of the many snacks or drinks provided by Industrious, or getting to know someone new at one of the weekly community activities (yoga, happy hour, GUACAMOLE PARTY - need I say more?), there are ample opportunities to meet fellow fun creative minds. read more
