Despite the hip, chill vibe of the surroundings the hair stylist didn't listen to me after explaining what I wanted three times over the course of the cut. I've thought long and hard about whether it was my fault for not communicating properly but I've never experienced such an acerbic reaction from a stylist before. I wanted short back and sides with a trimmed beard. Instead I got trimmed back and sides with a short beard. I was so happy and polite when I arrived, I'm not sure why it all went wrong. If a hair stylist doesn't give you what you ask for I can't see why they should charge over $70 for men's cuts. Oh well. I'm going to find a place with stylists who listen before cutting away.

Their other facial services are good, but not outstanding. I tend to really like a lot of deep extractions, and didn't get much of that. Also, the steam machine was playing up and was spitting hot water on me, which wasn't awesome. It's a good neighbourhood spot, and the staff are nice. Appointments always seem to start a little bit late, but I will keep going there for the convenience and good services.

For one, the wax they use is superior and causes nearly no pain and discomfort. Secondly, everyone that works there is super friendly, warm and professional. The space itself is really nicely designed, very relaxing and modern-looking with a warm feel. I have yet to go back to take advantage of all their awesome services, seriously, there is nothing these girls don't do. It's a pretty complete retreat. Highly recommend this spot.

I've been seeing her for over 5 years, initially when she was at another salon, but Cybelle now runs her own business out of Meo salon on Sydney Road in Coburg. When I see Cybelle I basically give her free-range on my hair - she gives an amazingly precise cut, always edgy but flattering to your face. Over the years she's given me countless different styles and colours, and I inevitably get compliments after a new cut. The salon was closed when I dropped in, though it was during trading times, but that's understandable because there's not much point in opening up before you've got appointments if it's the middle of a work day. I called the phone number provided and Esther answered immediately. She was friendly and accommodating, and we made an appointment for an hour later. She was just as friendly in person, and did an excellent job! After the trim and shape my hair had a lot more movement, and she showed me new techniques when blowing it out. I'll definitely be back, and will hopefully try more of her services as well! This one's definitely worth a go.

So, for all y'all fellow fashion victims out there, come one come all to Brazilian Butterfly and make believe you're the girl from Ipanema. They do a fabulous job here and they're pretty quick too, and I reckon their prices are so reasonable compared to many other Brazilian wax places around. As far as I can tell, all the staff are female and they've all been consistently lovely and friendly and totally competent at their work. The treatment rooms are clean and uncluttered, and there are hooks to hang your clothes on. Other than the pain that comes with the wax treatments, which is mostly inevitable, the only downside is the music they play - mainstream, commercial radio. Terrible. Like the treatment isn't painful enough already.

These girls know what they're doing (which is always handy when there is hot wax involved near sensitive areas) and you're in an out before you can even say "holy hell that hurt!" Whatever you need waxed, you can get it down here: eyebrow, lip, underarm and of course their namesake - the Brazilian. Fellas, good news! You can get waxed too! Yay! I am always impressed by the professionalism of these ladies, and would put money down that you will be too.
