My mother-in-law took her Stihl blower in to have the primer bulb replaced. That was all it needed. That was all she wanted done. What they did to her blower was criminal. Not only did they not replace the primer bulb as she had ask, they broke the throttle lever off the carburetor when they dis-assembled it. Why they dis-assembled her blower to replace an easily accessible primer bulb is beyond any conceivable explanation or understanding. When she went in to pick up her blower after being told it was ready, she was handed a bag of parts, and a bill for fifty some dollars. They had the nerve to tell her (after they broke the carburetor) it needed a new carburetor, and it was going to cost as much to repair the blower as it would be to purchase a new one. Then they charged her fifty some dollars for their "fine" service. All it needed was a primer bulb! You can see in the attached photo the condition in which they returned her blower. If legible, the broken throttle lever pieces are circled in the photo. Unbelievable!!! Had this happened to me, these people would be in court making reparations for the damage they caused. This is truly criminal taking advantage of a person in this manner. If I heard one day someone burned them out, I just might have to smile.

For some time now I would walk by a place called CRAFTERIA on Church Ave in Downtown Roanoke,…read morewondering what was inside. Until one day, looking for a new Puertorican Restaurant named "Delicias Boricuas," I had a reason to go inside. And I'm so glad I did. When one walks in, one is greeted by a very friendly young man who is seated at a desk and who is in charge of taking care of you if you need to buy any of the arts and crafts items displayed in any of the booths inside. Then, the first store there is the Little Green Hive which is a Coffee, bakery, and sandwich shop. There is also the Puertorican Restaurant which is literally a hole in the wall where one orders their food and then goes to sit on marble tables and chairs that are all around to enjoy their food.Besides these two restaurants, there are a couple of beauty salons, and a vinyl record shop. As one walks around looking at all the beautiful arts and crafts displayed, there is music playing in the background. I would definitely recommend to those visting Downtown Roanoke to come by this place. Who knows you might discover a new place to hangout with family or friends and enjoy some coffee, shop for that special one of a kind gift, or discover the delicious flavor of the Puertorican Cuisine.

This Art Gallery and Studio is owned by and features the paintings of Annie Schultz and the photography of Rick Sheridan. Their Mission is to strive to support, established, emerging, and aspiring artists and photographers through exhibitions, classes, and occasional open Studio time. It is dedicated to showcasing diverse artworks from local emerging artists and fostering a creative community. Through a diversity of workshops, it is also committed to teach and assist new artist how to prepare their artwork for exhibition and sale. The gallery space is also available to rent for photo shoots, art lectures, and other related activities. Located in Downtown, Roanoke, in the heart of some of the best art galleries and restaurants in the area, on the corner of 1st Street SW and Kirt Avenue, it is the ideal location to experience the best of the best of what the City of Roanoke has to offer to its community and visitors as well. The building itself is Historic and very well renovated, maintaining its beautiful, original mosaic and hardwood floors. The corner entrance glass doors and two display windows are perfectly placed to allow the natural light in and to be able to observe all beautiful sunset as well. Besides the art gallery and studio, it also has a fully equipped modern darkroom, for young photographers to be able to learn, through workshops offered, how to take traditional film photography and how to develop and print their own photographs. As I entered through the gallery's front door, I was amazed to see a variety of art media in their current exhibition. There was oil paintings, stained glass hanging windows, sculptures, photography, jewelry, artisctic works in rare and exotic woods such as a beautiful carved wood set to play cards, among others. There was also a square table next to their computer full of brochures, business cards, and other very informative art and photography literature from around the area. Both the owners of this gallery were amazing individuals, very warm and welcoming with wonderful personality and a desire to enjoy their art and assist the newer artists by sharing all their knowledge, experience, and expertise. I highly recommend to all those reading my review and viewing my photographs that accompany it, to definitely give this gallery a visit. You will find some lovely artworks at very reasonable prices that will make beautiful gifts for yourselves, special friends, or loved ones. As you purchase these items, you will be supporting and encouraging young artists, and giving special meaning to their lives.

Today I happened to be in the area and was attracted by the very unique building front; so much so that I had to stop to explore the place. Filled with an extensive collection of antiques and vintage items like furniture, home decor, books, jewelry, old tools, statues, framed artworks, glassware, and unique collectables, the owner makes sure to go to auctions in search of one-of-a-kind items to make sure his shop is always full of something new for customers to see when they come in. The shop is usually open from 12noon to 5pm but sometimes you might find it closed because the owner had to go out to view some items being offered to him to acquire as merchandise for his antique shop. The shop has so many different kinds of items that some areas don't seem too organized and many of the items are not in the most perfect condition, but if you take the time to look around you might discover some real gems. The owner is very hospitable and friendly and if you talk to him about your collectable interests he might keep an eye out for items you might be interested in while out on his searches. One of the latest items he acquired and showed me is a huge and lovely stained glass window in perfect condition. This might be too large for your needs or wants but if you go visit the place I'm sure you'll find something of your liking.
