I contacted this office because someone referred me to Dr. Ellinger for an autism diagnosis for my…read moredaughter. The secretary was unprofessional and rudely said "I'm gonna have to call you back" and interrupted me while I was speaking and then called me back hours later. When I told her (again) that my daughter needs to be evaluated for autism she said "Oh, I don't know if Dr. Ellinger will even see you if it's just a diagnosis. He probably won't want to deal with the paperwork." WHAT? How extremely unethical, rude, and insensitive. I'm calling to tell you I'm concerned that my daughter has autism and you tell me that the "doctor" doesn't want to do the paperwork? She said she'd call me back to confirm and HOURS LATER she called back to tell me that he would indeed not see my daughter and that I'm on my own. I have a PhD in psychology and I'm DISGUSTED that a "doctor" would actually turn away a child in need for selfish, money hungry reasons. Do yourself a favor and find a different psychologist. They're a dime a dozen (I'm allowed to say that since I'm a psychologist myself).

His office staff was friendly and quick to get me an appointment. They always return calls. I have never waited more than 10 min. I cant brag about him enough. Yesterday, I was supposed to have an appointment in the afternoon. But I woke up with a very serious migraine and a slack pharmacy that can't seem to fill anything on time. I spoke with the office, after leaving voicemails because there was no one to answer the phone, which felt like a red light. We rescheduled for this morning. About 2 hours later, mind you I've got a migraine that nothing is helping so I'm sleeping and trying not to throw up, I get email notification. The way it was structured, it looked like it was the cancellation for yesterday's appointment. I needed immediate attention to get life saving medications since my former PCP left practice. I go out to my car this morning, it's dead. Omg. She had me swear to call in if I couldn't make it because I'd be his last appointment. I'm a clinician. I can understand that. So, I call while simultaneously trying to figure out how I'm getting there. Again, no one there to answer the phone. I'm leaving frantic voicemails. I know I can't miss this appointment or I could die. I opt for an uber. I never use ride share, but this was desperate. The driver got me there in record time and I walked in 2 minutes later, went to sign in, and the young man sitting behind the counter tells me Dr. Poveda cancelled all of his appointments for the day!!! What?!? I told him my car was dead and I just paid for an Uber to get here. The other provider, I was told, would not see me. So, I had to Uber back home, no med refills/scripts, get roadside assistance, and buy a new battery. Dr. Poveda, not notifying via phone/text, cost me about $+40 today. I had to race around to get to a doctor who could get me enough meds to last until I could get in with a provider, since everyone seems booked out for months. I can't overstate how awful I feel, and how much money, time, and anxiety you couldn't saved me if someone had just PICKED UP THE PHONE TO NOTIFY PATIENTS OF THEIR CANCELLED APPOINTMENT. This is about as unprofessional a practice I've ever dealt with. You charged me $25 late cancel fee and then cost me for an Uber round trip. So unbelievably unprofessional. If your practice can't support incoming calls, you're doing something wrong. One provider to another.

I have been coming here now for seven months and I feel like I need to tell everyone my experience. Laura who answered the phone was BEYOND helpful and such a delight! I was moving from another state and needed to establish a new doctor and I was able to get in around my time not the doctors time. (I love the flexibility they offer ) Laura called me to confirm my appt the day before and asked me if I had any questions and even asked about my move! ( No one ever stops to ask how people are these days!) When I arrived I was there 15 mins early and I was the only patient in the waiting area. ( I read reviews they over book there are over 8-10 people waiting which is a LIE!!!!) I was greeted by the Dr and we went over all my medically and past doctor visit. For privacy reasons I will not list why I was there but when I left I felt very comfortable with the staff and the Dr. I am going on my 8 month and I enjoy coming here. I never have any issues, I never wait more then I expect and the staff is amazing! I wanted to take my time to thank everyone!
