First was Friday the 13th in September 2019. Packed AF. It was cool cause we got to pay the discounted price and come back a couple weeks later. I appreciated that cause they honestly coulda rushed it. Last visit was on 02/06 this year. Our artist both times was Arturo @haferks on IG. Super talented artist. Very patient and pays attention to detail takes his time. The sunflower and the Virgin Mary Skull was their own art for the 13th. The neck piece & floral moon was a design we found online & our artist added his own twist on it. Sick af. Great job all around. Only shop we plan on going too and the same artist. I'm really disappointed with this shop. I've been here a total of 3 times. My first tattoo went great, customer service was amazing and they made me feel very comfortable. The second experience was on April 13th. I was there for the Friday the 13th tattoo deal they had going on. I got a 3x3 triskelion and My tattoo came out less than awesome. It was suppose to be blacked out and it has more than a few spots that are flawed. My third experience I came back for the most recent Friday the 13th deal thinking I would give them another chance to give me a better piece. I wanted to get a 1x1 lotus flower. I signed in at 2:50pm. I asked a few times how many people were ahead of me knowing it was going to be a long wait, i was told i could make an appointment to come back later but not that there would be a cut off time. I sat there until 9:45pm just to hear the announcement that they would no longer be doing tattoos due to the artists being tired. Though I was frustrated I was willing to make an appointment. They then asked me to write down my name and phone number so they could contact me to make the appointment??? Didn't make much sense to me....and then I was told I would have to pay for my tattoo right then and there. The tattoo that I couldn't get. I loved this place before but I think they got a little more popular and lost their touch. To say the least I'm disappointed. read more

So I was looking to get my very first tatt and was referred to this spot by one of my boys and he told me that these guys were legit. I started by looking at their pics they have on IG and on here and I was sold. I felt comfortable and confident enough to schedule an appointment. First impression walking in was that everything was absolutely spotless and sanitary. I met Bobby and told him what I was looking for. Wanted my mom's name with some wings on the chest and he came out with a SICK design that I was diggin'! Keep in mind this was my first time getting a tattoo and it was a really big piece, so I thought "what the hell, why not??" Bobby was super cool and chill along the process and broke everything down about what he was going to do. He was very detailed and made sure that everything was right. I highly recommend for anyone who might be getting their first tatt or for anyone who's looking to get more to go check these guys out. The other artists were really chill and they have this kind of family type vibe in the shop that makes you feel comfortable. I researched different tattoo shops long before it was legal for me to get one. I have been following their Instagram account for a couple years now and knew that I wanted to get my first tattoo at Ink Mindset Studios with Rovie. I scheduled my session with him a couple months ahead of time. The day after my 18th birthday I went in and got my lion done on my shoulder. The shop has a very chill, clean vibe, with great music. My friends were able to stand by, watch, and chill for the 6 hour session no problem. Everyone at the shop is friendly. Rovie is very talented. I had brought the design I wanted in and he did it even better than I was expecting. Shortly after my tattoo, my mom wanted to get her first one as well. Gabe has done her lady bug and sunshine. They look incredible. I went back to get some script done on my bicep, also done by Gabe. I think the best part about my experiences, with both Rovie and Gabe... it doesn't feel like they are rushing and only there for your money. They give the impression that they want to do their best work for themself and yourself, which is great because it's obviously permanent lol. My brother also went in for his first tattoo with Rovie. The wolf on his forearm looks amazing. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this tattoo shop. I don't intend on going anywhere else. read more

I got two tattoos with @Skullsink and both times were amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, it was super comfortable atmosphere as if I went over to a friends place. The shop looks so amazing and cool I loved the vibe. Skull was super in talking me thru the tattoo process and making sure i was okay during. I saw these guys on Instagram, and on yelp and the pictures and feedback seemed good so I gave them a call. I spoke to Oreo, who was very polite and helpful. I decided to stop by a few days later. I had a chance to meet with him and Rovie, they explained the process on the redo and made me feel good about going with them. Make a long story short, I came in yesterday to meet with Rovie, he completely changed the look of the tattoo and made it come to life. Before, it looked so bad but with his skill set, I couldn't be happier. I'm already planning on working with him to finish my arm. Finally found a place that I was comfortable getting my arm sleeve finished at!! The vibe in the shop is super chill & there's always some great music on! They didn't have a problem working after another artist and completing my arm piece for me. I've had 3 sessions so far with my Artist "Haferks" and he's been great! I came in with my own visions & ideas and he has completely brought it to life for me!! They're prices are reasonable and they have great Artists with great attitudes! I had some half sleeves that were 15 years old and needed some rework. I walked in to Ink Mindset and was immediately helped out. I was able to get a session in on that same day. Then followed up two days later to get the other arm done. I can't believe how well everything turned out. My ink looks brand new and better than when I first got it done. I got my first tattoo here and was very happy about it. It was definitely nerve wrecking, but we were greeted by Oreo and he was very welcoming. I was sure he would give me exactly what I wanted since from the start he wasn't pushy, he was patient with what I wanted and how I wanted my tattoo. I wanted a few details tweeked on the picture and he made sure it would happen. My artist was Josh and he was very calm the whole way through. He was laid back, but he made sure that the tattoo was placed exactly where I wanted and how I wanted it to be. He asked questions and made me look at the tattoo placement multiple times before starting. He would pause every now and then, knowing it was my first tattoo and taking it slow. The one thing I didn't like was having to wait for my turn. Although, I didn't have an appointment I did wait longer than I thought I would. Besides that - 10/10 would recommend. I went to this tattoo shop on a whim. I typed best tattoo shops near SDSU and this one did not disappoint! The service was really professional and all through out the process Rovie made me feel comfortable. It made me respect the craft way more and he even showed me in how he takes his time for tattoo pieces. It was my first tattoo so I didn't know what to expect, but again I was reassured that it only felt like scratches. Had two tattoos done by Carlos yesterday and they turned out so nice! One on a 65 year old grandmother (her first) and one for a newly retired navy veteran in honor of his service. I've noticed a trend with tattoo shops and most have poor customer service skills (not great at chit chat, no patience, they are there to get the tattoo on you and that's it). This place was very friendly, had a great eye for the details and made sure we felt welcome/comfortable there...great customer service!! Oreo was super responsive via yelp and made small talk with us throughout our time there. Carlos did really well knowing his audience for the tattoos and both Gma and Vet are over the moon excited about their two, very different, tattoos! My sister hooked me up with this place and I have zero complaints whatsoever. The shop is really clean and organized and the guys up front are very accommodating. The artist, Angel, really took care of me and was very meticulous and detailed in his art while at the same time really engaged us in conversation and made sure we were comfortable and at home. My tattoo design was pretty simple but it was very obvious how Angel really aimed for perfection and finesse in his work. Will definitely be coming back for more!
