It was such an absolute pleasure to experience your enthusiastic welcome, your genuine hospitality, your unique morning cuisine, your dynamic personalities and engaging conversation ON THAT MAGIC PORCH!! While those words may be a start, it only scratches the surface of our appreciation of what we shared with you last weekend. So while I consider further review accolades, let me, at least, share that something else, that I mentioned in one of our passionate conversations - the recipe of my late wife, Kay, of New Orleans LA, for her exceptional Croissant Bread Pudding, which is always a winner where & when dessert is being celebrated. I know that you can make this occasion dish one of your own, at least to taste, and for others to enjoy on such special occasions at your Mendenhall 1884 Inn!!". But I consider myself a very light sleeper, so the average person will probably not have issues with this. The place is very clean and comfortable. I stayed in the Rumsey Suite. The bathrooms are modern and have fantastic jetted tubs. The bed was very comfortable. My room had a white noise machine, ceiling fan, a large closet, free wi-fi, and even electric candles for a romantic touch. They offer a continental breakfast with a lot of options and a Keurig machine for coffee. There is a nice patio out back overlooking the brook. Parking is easy, free and right outside. The innkeeper was very nice and friendly - happy to chat and answer questions about the area - but did not impose on the guests. The decor is cleaner and simpler than most B&Bs, which was a huge draw for me! I don't like rooms full of creepy dolls and tons of old lace. I would recommend this location. The back room with the two twin beds probably has the best view.

The entire property is very clean and well furnished. The Inn is within walking distance to the main part of town, we parked the car when we arrived and walked to everything . We prefer the older portion of the hotel, in the main building. But you can't go wrong with either spots. I'd recommend getting reservations in advance if hoping to eat on site. The pub has limited seating options. But its well worth the stop.

The restaurant owner loved collecting Christian religious artifacts, and much of that collection still remains here. I mention that because some of the older negative reviews refer to that restaurant and not the garden in by the same name. Different owners, different business. The Inn is what gets my review here.

The bed and breakfast is a beautiful historic building from 1920 that has a lovely wrap around porch with seating. A great place to relax. The inn is on a quiet street very close to town. We didn't have to drive to the park where the baths are or the stores - A short 2-3 block walk and you were there. Breakfasts were delicious! I'm gluten free and I was able to eat safe! Yogurt and mixed berry parfait with granola, Eggs, bacon, gluten free pancakes, juice, coffee/tea. You definitely don't leave the table hungry. Mary is a lovely gracious innkeeper who makes sure her guests are well taken care of. Highly recommend staying here!
