I am writing this review as a former student of ECS. I attended ECS in Fort Myers, FL from middle…read moreto high school and throughout that time I witnessed and was subjected to incredibly unprofessional and even harmful treatment by my teachers. No adult, especially those that work in education, should publicly harass and berate their students over elements of their lives they have no control over. This school claims to be a model of moral, Christian education, but if they truly believed in the works of Jesus they would not be as hypocritical, unwelcoming, and careless with the children they are supposed to be nurturing.

As a former student that used to go to ECS, I just wanted to let people know that the school is…read morehonestly not Christian. They claim to want to be like Jesus and want to set the best example but don't and anytime someone comes into the school that isn't perfect they kick them out automatically. I had a friend who was going through his mom's death, and they kicked him out when he started acting up. Which honestly made no sense to me because he has amazing grades and has been there for so long. Obviously a student who just lost a loved one, especially their own mom would go through a hard time or act up as a call for help and they didn't even wanna help him or do anything. They kicked them out because of it. They're also a quite bit racist, my friend who goes there had a friend who got in a fight with a kid and just got suspended and then another friend who threatened to fight a guy and he got kicked out and what a coincidence that the one that was black got kicked out, but the one that was white stayed and was just suspended, even though he actually broke the little kids jaw. Just wanted to let you know Incase you are thinking of letting your student come!

But education, some teachers are good and actually care but a lot of them don'. They don't get payed enough to care I guess (teachers words not mine). The school doesn't care about students mental health or what they even do because over 50% of them are on drugs. Like if you drug tested them it would come back positive And the food is not it all. I got food poisoning from here twice and a lot of stuff they sell at that school as way too overpriced. I feel like I'm explaining stuff all over the place. But also this school gets lots of threats which again, they pretend to care but they really don't. And the staff sees what they want to see. all imma say about that. Also I don't recommend sending your middle schooler here because 1, they don't get much to do highschool gets everything, and 2, the students are rude, on drugs, overall ghetto like they have no home training. Lots of roaches, ants etc as well. Very unorganized and wait until last minute to announce thing. I'm probably missing a lot of stuff since I haven't been here since November of 2024. But I truly don't recommend this school at all it'll destroy your kids mental health and they most likely won't do good academically. Mind you I went to this school long enough so I would truly take a student's word over a staff memher because they sugar coat everything. Public schools are so much better than this bum, money hungry, unorganize, ghetto charter school. -Former Student

Some English teachers don't even speak English here! the disciplinary staff are SOOOOO useful because they just stand in the halls blowing their whistles and personally i have very sensitive ears so they are HARASSING me. If you have a fear of roaches and bugs dont go here. There are so many health code violations and the bathrooms are usually all broken. This school is always missing teachers so if you come here expecting to learn you might want to choose another school. TBH i am talking about the middle and high school campus the elementary is average. Also the students are terribly ghetto and rude but the AMAZING (Im being sarcastic) diseplenary staff do nothing about it, probably because they are all chopped cheese . Overall please don't send your kid here for the sake of their mental health.

For the past sixty years, Saint Michael Lutheran School has held to this scripture by offering a rigorous, thorough education in a supportive and loving environment. This faith-based, accredited, coeducational Lutheran school lifts our students up by nourishing both mind, body and spirit on an individual level for the Lee County community. Our students, ranging from pre-Kindergarten to the eighth grade, receive a distinctly Christian-based education, rooted in academic excellence, that encourages all of them grow and mature. We encourage the kind of intellectual freedom that comes through the diversity our school enjoys. While we belong to the Lutheran School system (the second largest private school system in the country), we are privileged to have students from nearly every major denomination, ethnic background and economic standing. Our teachers are highly-trained, well-educated people that honestly care not only about their student's grades, but about them as a person. All have achieved degrees at the Bachelor's level, and we encourage them to continue on their own educational journeys as they guide the journeys of others. We hope you and your child will journey with us in both knowledge and faith, as we seek to educate and inspire, going a step beyond a normal education. At Saint Michael's, "exceptional" is where we start.

Our experience with this school was extremely disappointing, and based on what our family…read moreexperienced, I would not recommend this school for a child with ADHD or similar support needs. We were completely transparent from the beginning about our child's ADHD diagnosis and his need for accommodations, additional redirection, patience, and support. The school was aware of these needs before accepting him. Because the school also accepts the Step Up For Students FES-UA scholarship for children with unique abilities, we believed they understood that some students may require additional support and time to adjust. Unfortunately, after only six school days, we received an email asking us to attend a meeting to "go over accommodations." We went into that meeting expecting collaboration, strategies, and a plan to help our child succeed. Instead, we were blindsided. The meeting essentially became a conversation informing us that the school did not believe it could meet his needs and that he would need to leave. Six school days is an extremely short amount of time to determine what a child with ADHD is capable of, especially after transitioning from homeschooling into a completely new school environment. We expected accommodations to actually be implemented, given a fair opportunity to work, and adjusted if needed before such a major decision was made. We were also very uncomfortable with the Head of School, Diane, making assumptions about our child potentially having diagnoses beyond ADHD. School staff should certainly communicate behaviors or concerns they observe, but making diagnostic assumptions after knowing a child for only a few days felt inappropriate. ADHD presents differently in every child, and diagnostic conclusions should be left to qualified professionals who have properly evaluated the child. What disappointed us most was feeling that the focus quickly became everything our child struggled with rather than what could be done to help him improve. Children with ADHD may need repeated directions, redirection, support with transitions, emotional regulation, bathroom accommodations, and additional time to adjust. These challenges do not mean a child is incapable of succeeding. As parents, we also made a genuine commitment to this school. We purchased school uniforms, PE uniforms, school-specific supplies, and rented a school instrument with a monthly payment because we expected our child would be given a fair opportunity to remain there. After only six days, we were left with uniforms, supplies, and other school-specific items that cannot simply be used at another school. The issue is not the money itself, but the fact that families make these preparations in good faith believing the school is also making a commitment to their child. Parents of children with ADHD or similar needs should ask very specific questions before enrolling about what accommodations will truly be provided, how much redirection the school is willing to offer, and how much of an adjustment period a child will actually receive.

This school is the most amazing, creative school with seriously the most caring, down to earth, dedicated, passionate, talented and kind teachers/staff that make it the best school/community there is for Early Learning and VPK in Ft. Myers...hands down! It's not "just a school", it's a unique community and you'll feel like you're part of a family. Everyone there-staff, teachers, and the parents are so kind and sweet, and everyone goes out of their way to make the school just keep getting better and updated by hosting fun events with the kids to raise money, or to have a charity event. Everyone helps each other out however they can. I feel so blessed My son got to go there and I am lucky enough to have seen him start at 3 years old and grow into the kind sweet boy he is today with the help of so many amazing woman there-it takes a village to raise a child. I never once worried about him, and that in and of itself says it all. Also to have been able to go to some of the most creative, beautiful and fun events I've ever been to! Kuddos to everyone at Bright Beginnings Early School and especially to the director of the school Samantha and also Mary for doing all the dirty work behind the scenes and making it look so easy... and for always having a smile on their face every morning and greeting the kids by name as they walk in to make them feel special You can see the love you have for the students and passion for the school. And let's not forget to mention, all of the wonderful teachers who show up every single day and not only teach our kids but go above and beyond! They've shown/taught our children compassion, kindness, what it means to be a good friend, how to behave/treat their classmates and adults , and most importantly about God and Jesus, and what it is to be a good human being in this crazy world...because that is one of the most important things to learn. I highly recommend sending your child or children to this school, as I promise you, you will be more than just satisfied and your child will absolutely love it there..they will learn so much, and in a creative way. There is always something fun going on whether it's the everyday stuff such as the playground, splash pad, play time while also learning things without even realizing it! And then there's always something such as special crafts, events for the parents to get to know each other, Dad's night out, Mom's night out, celebrations during holidays, concerts, charity events, etc. I could go on forever! You will also be amazed at how much they will learn, learn, because their level and expectations of teaching is very high and they do it in a fun way for the kids! But bottom line, if you're looking for an early school for your child this IS THE ONE!
