Pam did a great job in her inspection of our prospective house! She took her time and gathered as much information as she could on the home and provided an in depth analysis using high quality equipment. The only thing we would have liked to have had was a walked inspection of the roof. Pam had run into car trouble though and was unable to bring her ladder so no fault of her own. The inspection is thorough which is maybe all that matters. But you WON'T get any responses to your emails when you have questions about the report after the fact. What you WILL get is about 15 emails asking you to review them and about 15 text messages to review them. You WILL also get signed up to something called Porch without your permission and when you try to opt out the email address doesn't work. Considering the cost of the inspection and then the cost of the home/repairs the complete lack of communication is very frustrating. When your real estate agent and all the repairmen are trying to upsell you for no reason you hope that you can ask your inspector to be the voice of reason. The inspector was respectful, and understanding and answered my questions clearly while giving some helpful tips. As for the value, before this inspection, I thought my home was worse than it was and possibly cost a fortune to repair, "Nope, I was off by thousands, yes worth the value of the inspection. After reading the many great reviews I decided to have my home inspection done by Inspect It Like a Girl. I talked to them about the things I really wanted checked and was assured it would be done. When I arrived at the home for the debriefing I was shocked to find out the instructor had broken items in the home to include the garage door by holding it open and breaking an outlet cover. I was then given a multiple page report with several simply false items on it to include stating there was leak under a sink covered by a bag. In fact there was a bag taped to the pipe with a tool to shut off the water to an ice make. If the inspector that of touched the bag it would have been obvious. She said the gas fireplace did not work because she did not know how to use it. Most items listed had a statement to have another inspector do an inspection on that item. I was under the impression I had paid an inspector to do this inspection. The there was the roof that was not inspected because her ladder broke early that day. Finally I was told they could do VA ventless fireplace inspections. Know after everything I find out they are not licensed per the VA's requirements. So I'm off to get another inspection. If you want someone to come and look for cosmetic problems or tell you what items you should get a real inspector to come see they are great. But I can turn on lights to see if they work, listen to see if an appliance sounds funny, or look for cracks in a wall. I did contact the owner multiple times about the disappointment I had with the inspection and finally the fireplace letter not meeting VA guidelines. I never got an acceptable response. Now we have ended with her informing me I will need someone else to do another inspection. (Please read how she talks to clients ,including me, in all of her responses) (My response to the owner's comments) I believe posting a full review of my experience with your company is not bullying. You are welcome to address the issues I have raised both on calls with you and your staff or in this post. If I posted anything false I will remove it and if you address my problems I will update or delete this review as need. Inspect it like a girl recently inspected my house. Without getting into too much detail, the inspector started out announcing my stove was broken. Unfortunately, the inspector didn't know what accusimmer meant, and she mistakenly had it functioning so that burner didn't get hot. This caused many problems with the buyer, insisting we purchase a new stove. Secondly they made a comment about the shingles extending too far over the roof, but they never instructed us where that was or how long the shingles are extended. When my roofer looked at the roof, he commented that they were an inch over, which is the standard. There were many many small items, and some of them did not even say what was wrong. They only intimated that something could possibly be wrong. So how do you fix something that might or might not be a problem? I consider this to be Mickey mouse phishing. Just saying something looks good or it doesn't look so good and not having enough expertise to really say it's okay or it's not OK and what needs to be done. From now on, I will insist in any contracts on property I sell, that inspect it like a girl cannot be used as inspector on the project. To my astonishment, I contacted inspect a girl twice by telephone, asking to speak to the owner to relay these problems. But they told me they may or may not return my call. They are too cowardice to step up to the plate and improve their business. But they bragged how busy they were. I guess if you're ripping people off and they're not smart enough to know that you ripping them off, you can do a pretty good business, but I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. Oh, I almost forgot. They left my bedroom door which leads to the patio open and unlocked. If you can't be trusted to secure somebody's property that you're inspecting, what can you be trusted to do? read more

My inspector, Christina, was on time, meticulous in her assessment, provided me with multiple, detailed reports, at the conclusion of the inspection, and assuaged so many of my fears when she confirmed that I was in the process of purchasing a home in great condition. I especially loved the fact that my multiple reports were filtered into categories like: "repair/replace summary," "general maintenance," "full report," "full summary with photos," and "full summary without photos."
