This was not a compassionate or supportive environment. Getting your eyes checked is a big deal and even anxiety provoking to some. This place was cold and not welcoming. This Secretarial assistant and doctor 's office was more about serving their the bottom line and not helping to accommodate the people they are actually privileged to serve. The Optometrist was uncomfortable performing a "follow up" routine eye exam because I had laser surgery in November. My eyes are healthy and all I needed was a quick checkup. Also I wanted to establish a permanent vision care center that was local. I feel that this organization lacks the ethical standards for patient care and how it impacts a patients overall quality of life. As a medical professional I am extremely disappointed with their reasoning. Unacceptable! Luckily, BROOKLIN VISON CARE understands when a patient has to relocate, it is hard to travel out of town for this. All I did was fax my medical records to them and, easy as pie, I was scheduled for an exam. Moral of the story is.... Don't waste your time with this facility if you have any pre-existing condition. They want you healthy before they see you....Poor patient care!

I called and left a message She to see if they wanted her to come with no response. She called until they picked up and they said they'd "rather" her rebook so she cancelled HER appointment. I drive 50 kms to the appointment only to see a surprised look on receptions face when I say my name. I was told I cancelled my appointment which I replied no my wife cancelled her appointment. I was then told because she has a cough I can't come. I have ZERO symptoms of anything. When I asked when I was told this it was supposedly during the call with my wife which I listened to and it wasn't. They said it was policy but there was no policy shown to me or on their website. There was stammering during each excuse I was given but it was obvious they gave away my appointment to the person sitting beside me. All of this could have been avoided if they were just truthful and I would have worked with them. Too bad Costco has an unprofessional business working in their building.
