From there it is radio silence until I reach back out. He had an odd story about his phone being stolen to account for the lack of communication, then dropped the chair off outside of our agreed upon meeting window. We had agreed on a price and at no point was it indicated he would need to charge more, but at drop off he was asking for 20% more than we had agreed. When I challenged this I was met with indignant responses like "I charge $15 to drop it off" (not disclosed) and "I've been giving deals to people all day, I can't do this for free!" I had no expectation he would, but I also expect to be notified when we get out of scope on price. This is another lesson to reinforce that if someone has to tell you how fair they are they might not be.

We were sincerely grateful to Don for helping with 3 different home improvements. First, he was…read moreable to do a great job with an expert eye for the end result, and with top-of-the-line excellent tools and vacuum device to resurface the bay window in our living room. (Over the years, it became damaged with condensation and dog nail scratches.) He sanded with a dustless tool system to get to bare wood (amazingly, he did not need to tape and drape). Then he applied a perfect stain and layers of varnish. The result is a beautifully restored bay window seat. (Of note: We also contracted with a custom window professional to make a tempered glass top so now the window seat in our living room is also dog proof too!). Because he is so accomplished at furniture restoration, he also was able to restore a wrist-rest on our hardwood desk that has a pull out keyboard drawer. The varnish had become worn, discolored, and damaged with years of use. The result is a "looks like new" pull out keyboard drawer/wrist-rest. Third, because he is so knowledgeable and versatile, our 60-year-old home outdoor well-warn shutters needed a better look and refinishing. However, after we researched wood options, a more ideal approach was found to maximize the look of our face brick and contextualize the architecture of our home Subsequently, he expertly, willingly, and helpfully installed an alternate wrought iron exterior shutters that are PERFECT! Don is a delight to work with. We are so grateful for his flexibility, skills, and "can-do" approach to 3 different well-overdue restorations to our home.

We are absolutely thrilled with our new closets! We obtained quotes from a few places before deciding to go with Inspired Closets in Oakbrook. It was the best decision ever! Inspired Closets was considerably more affordable than Container Store and we were blown away by the customer service. The entire team was great to work with. The designer Lis, made excellent suggestions for maximizing our space while keeping us within budget. She provided 3D images to help us envision the final project. We enjoyed working with her so much that we decided to add a second closet to the project. Bobbi Carson coordinated our installations and kept us up to date on what to expect. Our installers were Nick & Tyler. Both very nice and professional guys. They were easy to communicate with and cleaned up completely when finished. Nick was particularly detailed in his work and went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect in our master closet. After the installation was completed, Bobbi called to make sure we were satisfied. We discovered that there was a small item missing from our master closet order. The company's owner, Mike Carson, drove over that same day to personally finish up this small detail. While Mike was here, he looked over both of our completed projects and decided that the second closet wasn't quite up to his level of satisfaction, although it looked fine to us. Mike took a few quick measurements and sent his best installer, Nick, back out to add some trim at no additional charge. We can't say enough good things about our experience with the Inspired Closets team. We would absolutely recommend them without hesitation! read more

Let me start by saying that I rarely write reviews on here but the service that was given to us from Carson Closets has prompted me to in a big way! The first time I called him, he worked his schedule around to come to my new house THAT DAY! I wasn't living here yet but was going to be here and he was super accommodating in coming out asap. He was very friendly but more importantly very knowledgeable. He guided us in what our closets could look like but also listened to our personal preferences and opinions as well. He also was extremely receptive to our budget. I knew from that day we were going to be in good hands! His turnaround time is FAST! It took him literally one week from the day we ordered our system to the day they were installed. I still can't believe that we had 6 very organized, gorgeous closets in so little time from the first day I called Mike! His men came to my house and there were a circus of other workmen here that day as well. His guys were very professional, friendly, and didn't waste any time getting started, despite all the other chaos going on here. Our closets (which did I mention are on the smaller side but every square inch is utilized after working with Carson Closets and we now have more space than we ever could have imagined) are nothing short of amazing! Mike even called to follow up and see how they were working out for us a few days after install. I recommend him and his team to anyone and will continue to do so! read more

I used Inspired Closets for three closets in my master bedroom. Lis came to my house, spoke to me basically about my life style and what I usually wear in my everyday life. I felt that approach was very helpful in figuring needs in my closet design. My next step was to visit the showroom in Oak Brook. I can't tell you how helpful that was to see my options, I feel it is a must to see design and finishes. I am a designer by trade and can make decisions for others easily, however when looking for myself the process can be crazy difficult!! Lis was very helpful in this area through it all. I highly recommend this company in making the choices actually fun! I am very happy with my 3 closets and most of all, Lis wanted me to be happy with the end result. Often with many companies, once you sign the doted line of your contract you hardly see or hear from them but not with Inspired Closets, they keep in touched during the whole process. Make your experience not stressful and actually fun!!!! I love my closets and look forward to organizing my spaces and just making life easier. Lis was amazing to work with - we did a number of different projects in our new home - including a boutique master closet, walk in closet, mudroom, laundry room and kitchen pantry. We gave her our rough vision for each space, and she created the concepts. Each space needed minimal tweaking after the initial designs, as she really captured the essence of what we were trying to accomplish. The beauty of working with Lis was that she was on site once each space was finished being installed - she found flaws so small and insisted they be remedied. Lis and the owners really stand beyond the product and services they offer, and they went above and beyond to ensure that we were 100% satisfied with each project. Absolutely recommend them as the systems look really nice (amazing actually), are functional, and all of the staff from the owners, designer and installers were good people and easy to work with. Lis and the owners were also great about finding solutions to keep us on budget, without sacrificing quality or feel. I absolutely love, love love my design!! I needed to replace my dresser and armoire because they no longer provided enough storage. My husband and I decided on a wall unit to utilize all of the space and a portion of the wall to the ceiling. Mr. Carson and his team were fantastic, including the installers. So personable and friendly. I'm so glad I didn't cut corners on what I wanted, because I have to see the unit every time I'm in the bedroom. Mr. Carson worked with me on design ideas and got me to a price I was comfortable with and the unit looks fantastic. So many things are now together and organized. I have different height drawers, deep drawers and jewelry drawers with trays. After the install the company reached out to follow up ensuring I was pleased. I informed her I was elated with my purchase. I love my new morning routine. We had wanted to install closet systems and one night while browsing Instagram we saw an ad for Inspired Closets. The promotional materials were beautiful and we could envision these systems in our home. We were promptly contacted by the owner, Mike, and he set us up with designer, Lis, for a home visit. Lis in ~30 min collected measurements and masterminded what our needs would be. A few days later, she walked us through her vision in 3D renderings of our four upstairs closets. She was understanding of where we wanted to splurge and where we wanted something more basic based on how we utilize the spaces. About a month later, our installer Mike came and completed four closet systems in a few hours. We gave Mike his space and he wore a face covering since we're in the COVID era. Bobbi in the office handled all the paperwork and communication - she's lovely. Investing in closet systems is one of the best things we could have done for our home, but also our own piece of mind. Exceptional experience and closet. I started with another closet company in Skokie and was so turned off by the belittling attitude of our project manager that we parted ways. I reached out to Inspired closets and was assigned to Tricia. She was phenomenal. She listened to what we wanted (it was a unique closet) and found a way to make it work. We are very happy with the design work, material quality, and installation that was done on our closets. The design of our closets was challenging given the roof lines that needed to be accommodated. Mike Carson did an excellent job of handling those challenges, creating designs that efficiently utilized the spaces for our needs. The quality of the material is very good, with a look and feel that matches the rest of the surrounding area. Even with the great design, there were some modifications that needed to be made during installation, which were also handled very well by the installer. The newly assigned designer, Zena, has been nearly impossible to reach -- she routinely ignores calls and voicemails, leaving me chasing information that should have been communicated from the start. When I finally did hear back, I was met with conflicting stories, misinformation, and zero accountability regarding payments, design options, and follow-ups. To make matters worse, I was never informed that a portion of my payment hadn't been received -- something any competent company would have addressed immediately. Instead, I only found out the day of installation, while I was working. This level of negligence and disorganization is completely unacceptable. There is a total lack of communication within the team, no consistency, and no follow-through. Every step has been marked by confusion, frustration, and empty promises. It's clear this company has no respect for its clients, their time, or their homes. If you're considering Closet Factory -- don't. I gave them several opportunities to make things right, and only after I personally intervened were a few issues finally addressed. Even then, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. Whether due to poor management or internal issues, I will not consider Closet Factory again. Very poor customer service and extremely poor communication. Attached photos show how they have left the project thus far, including unleveled and uneven cabinet installation. I hope they can make things right.

I had Elfa in installed in the primary closet many years before this, but for both form and function, these closets were easier to adjust and looked nicer in my opinion. The price point was also so solid, no premium pricing for a brand name. Almost 8 years later, my condo flooded and the units were damaged. Philip provided a prompt estimate to replace the damaged parts and the work was completed quickly and is like new again! I appreciate his kindness and the way he was able to offer a solution without completely charging for a full closet replacement. Truly, my only regret is not having him do the closets in my new condo, but the builder was using another company and it definitely ended up costing me more for a similar product-- with less ability to move shelves/hanging rods around after install.

I hired Closets by Design for a custom 6 year old's closet. They had a promotion and the catalogue…read morelooked promising. Plus- my interior designer referred them as a moderate priced closet shop. The first designer (a young woman- seemed inexperienced) rendered a design that was fine as far as I could tell- but left a ton of negative space (e.g. 5-6 feet) above the cabinatry. When the installers did the job, the drawers bumped up against the doors- so a full redesign was required. On the 2nd design, the final option was TOO HIGH for my daughter to reach much of the hanging + shelving. The job cost $2,200 with little to no quality control or oversight of the design process. The company uses HAND DRAWN designs (haven't integrated to digital design tools) and it was nearly impossible to verify the design was right. For this kind of hassle- I recommend going to IKEA a working with a specialist there. You'll save both time AND money.

Edit to add to the owner's response:…read more The owner is a blatant liar. Also, near blind as he doesn't seem to recognize the difference. To correct his lie, they never offered the free replacement. I initially held the remaining payment expecting them to address the issue, but they threatened me with things like filing a lien. So I paid the remainder. I even paid extra to replace the incorrectly installed drawers, which were flat drawers. The second time, they were installed incorrectly again, differently designed shakers. The result is what the photos here show. Extremely irresponsible. BTW, you are the one who did incompetent job and you want to move on without fixing it? What a joke. --- This was our 2nd time working with them. The first time, back in 2020, went very smooth, so we decided to work with them again for our new home. This time it was night and day. It couldn't have been worse. We chose shaker everywhere, but noticed the design draft showed the top drawers flat. The designer told us it was a glitch in their new software, but they went ahead and installed the flat ones anyway. I asked to have it changed and held payment until they fixed it. Instead, they blamed me for an outcome I supposedly approved, and insisted I pay extra to make them shakers. So I did. Then the final result came out like the photo. There's an obvious discrepancy in the width of the cove area (the sloped section between the outer and inner profiles). The designer couldn't even see the problem. The owner never responded at all. I even filed a complaint with the BBB, and they never addressed it. So the BBB closed the case. It's painful to see them treat me like this when I liked them so much 5 years ago. Avoid these crooks if you can.

Brad from Chicagoland Custom Closets came out, provided options, and offered a terrific solution. I also had a custom closet that needed to be repaired, which was from another company that was out of business. Brad also came up with solutions to fix that closet. Angel, the installer, was efficient and did a terrific job! The closets turned out great! Everything was spotless when he was done! Terrific experience all around.
