My friends and I had brunch nearby and decided to walk the strip and see what was going on in all the little shops along Haywood. I'm so glad we did! We each found something neat to take home from here. Staff inside were SO friendly and easy to talk to that we joked and had a great time talking to all of them for a while. I found some absolutely adorable mini mermaid rubber duckies to add to my home (I live in VA Beach) and we also each purchased some crystals and stones to bring home due to their healing or energy properties and which one spoke to each of us. I loved popping into this shop on Sunday. I got a really cute pair of silver earrings (that have not irritated my normally sensitive ears), a skirt and a chapstick for very little money. My husband bought a shirt he wore to our friend's wedding Sunday evening. What a delight! Would definitely shop here again. read more

Love this Karmically inspired gem in the midst of West Asheville! This little store has lots of mystical items that I love - gemstones, great variety of tapestries, tarot cards, incense, jewelry, clothes, and more! I could've looked around in there much longer if I would've had the time! I do feel the clothes were a bit on the expensive side but I felt prices on other goods were reasonable. The leggings I bought today for about $25 came pre-stained with another woman's discharge on the crotch. Didn't notice until I tried them on. It made me sick to my stomach and I had to take a long shower after. I'm not talking like an "oppsie" stain from someone just trying it on in the dressing room. I'm talking, straight up, somebody HAD to have worn them for an entire day with no underwear on. I'm not sure how these leggings got on the rack but, never seen anything like it. When Debra sold the store several years ago, I knew it was the end. The new owners are very cordial and inviting. They are not Deadheads though. This is an entrepreneurship. Sell, sell, sell. This is the first time ever I have had someone be rude to me at Instant Karma. I needed a hard plastic vacuum seal container for backpacking. The female that had swirly dreadlocked hair, possibly the manager, stared at me blankly. Pretentiously stating, "What are you talking about? Why don't you get a vacuum seal baggie?" Good job. Guess what you taught your employees? Seriously, kind rainbow dreadlocks was rude and pretentious? What has this town come to? Dreadlocks used to mean Peace, Love, and Happiness. Now, they are a fashion trend that seems to feed ego and pretension. As owners and managers of an alternative business, I would suggest on attending an annual industry trade fair. Please educate yourself because there is room in the world for everybody. Live, Learn, and Grow. I will never shop with you again. You are changing the direction we want our community to go. Wow, such a disappointment. I walked in and was instantly intrigued and starting shopping around. There was no sign at the entrance explaining that only a few people could come in due to Covid-19 and there was also no employees in sight. I continued the shop, ironically face masks. All of a sudden, some random, spastic woman runs up to us and stands about 2 feet from us. She did not identify herself as an employee, just started rambling about how she could only have 5 people in the store at a time and asked me to exit the store immediately. Listen, I understand that due to Covid-19, certain spaces can only accommodate so many people. But, what? I was willing to give this place business. This employee was not at the door doing her job or placing proper signage. For a store that was supposedly enforce social distancing, she stood way to close. Needless to say, I left and did not return. I recommend you don't even check this place out. Talk about instant karma! read more
