We used Instant Request for our ceremony and our reception on 5/30/15. Our DJ, Nate A., was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very organized and prepared, and was able to get the crowd up and dancing. He read the crowd super well, even with a large range of ages. He brought details to our attention that we might have overlooked in the planning process. He listened to everything we wanted, and made it happen! Instant Request is very detail oriented because they want to make sure everything runs smoothly. They kept in constant contact with us since the beginning, and were readily available whenever we had questions. The online system they use for gathering all of the wedding day details, such as ceremony music, timing, wedding party, first dances, grand marches, toasts, etc., made our planning very easy and stress free. We were able to pick out certain songs that we marked as 'must play', and they had their personal recommendations for songs along the way. Overall, Nate was a hit! They offer a platform with a very detailed survey to complete to pair you with the best possible DJ and to preselect any songs you may want to make sure is played at your wedding! Three weeks prior to the wedding we were paired with Auctavius and he reached out right away to have a one on one conversation so that he could make sure he knew everything we wanted and could ask any questions. And he did an amazing job the day of the wedding, from running the ceremony sound system, to being MC and DJ for the reception. He was very organized, making sure he knew what needed to be announced and when. And once the dancing started it never ended! The dance floor was full all night and we had the time of our lives! We had many guest complimenting how fun our wedding was, some even saying it was the most fun wedding they have been to. And I can't help but think part of that was due to the dance floor that Actavius and Instant Request kept going all night long (including an end of night encore when demanded by the guests)! read more

We had a great experience using Instant Request for our wedding ceremony and reception on September 3, 2022! The online "event planner" tool was thorough, the sales representatives Matt and Mitch were friendly and prompt to help throughout the planning process, and our DJ Kenneth at our wedding was very friendly, professional, and did a great job ensuring everyone had a great experience. Kenneth even sought out my dad (the FOB) on a few occasions to let him know one of his song selections was coming up. We had a blast dancing to our favorite songs and the dance floor was filled for most of the reception. Our only regret is the acoustics in our reception venue were a bit "echo-y" and it was difficult for our guests in the back of the room to hear the speeches and toasts - something that was important to us. Hiring Instant Request as our DJ was maybe the best decision we made for our wedding! My partner and I had an interfaith wedding and Alex did such a fantastic job integrating klezmer music into our dance in a way that maintained the infectious energy of the room. At one point, I looked out and literally EVERY SINGLE GUEST was on the dance floor. It was incredible; I've never been to a wedding quite like it. The company is direct, easy to work with, and professional. There are no hidden fees and they do an excellent job finding out what kind of music you're interested in for the entire event: pre-ceremony, ceremony (if you choose), cocktail hour, grand entrance, first dances, and the dance. We created a custom playlist for our DJ to use as a baseline, but also told him to go with his professional judgment and play what felt right in the moment. Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Ahh I am a little behind on my reviews, but we had DJ Alex for our May 15th, 2021 wedding and he hit it out of the park! I started off by speaking with Mitch, who was also amazing! Mitch was very responsive and quick to answer emails. Mitch listened to what I wanted in a DJ and said Alex would be a perfect fit, and he was. When I met with Alex a few weeks before we had a drink and talked like we were friends. He wanted to make sure I had everything I wanted as far as a DJ goes. He worked really well with my Officiant to keep everything running smooth. The one thing I remember from past weddings was the DJ, so this was very important to me. Alex listened to all my concerns and made sure the bad experiences I had before did not happen. I knew Justin R would be perfect for our wedding when he did his "DJ voice" in the middle of Caribou during our planning meeting and sure enough, JUSTIN KILLED IT. I got the recommendation to request him as our Black-Tie DJ through Ashley (another reason to hire a day of coordinator) and he literally made our entire night. I have never been to a wedding where EVERY song was the perfect song for that exact moment. Our dance floor was filled the entire night and I have had so many people come up to me and say that it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to. I ended up doubling my tip for him on the spot because he was so great. Every time you thought "I'll sit out and rest for the next song", a song would start playing that you couldn't possibly sit out. It was amazing. We had such a great experience using Instant Request! The cost was very reasonable, and the software/planner was super easy to use and very helpful. We chose our DJ ahead of time and chose DJ Alex who was AWESOME!! We met with him beforehand to chat about what we were looking for, types of music, etc and he was super helpful. We only gave him like 5 songs that he must play and he had control over everything else and CRUSHED it. He was receptive to requests that we had throughout the night and was super accommodating and honest about song requests like "I wouldn't play that right now, it would kill the vibe" and stuff like that. He was super professional, nice, and DJ Alex kept the dance floor packed all night and I had 10-15 people come up to me during the night and say he was the best wedding DJ they have ever heard. We had DJ OBI for our wedding, and it was a celebration worthy of closing out a difficult. 2020. When planning this wedding, we had a lot of uncertanity and ever changing plans. When I envisioned my wedding day, I knew I wanted to marry the man of my dreams, and have a celebration to remember. I was so happy that DJ Obi was the man to make it happen without any stress. Obi had people on the dance floor the entire night and was amazing overall. He added a personal twist with every song and was extremely personable. We used Instant Request for my son's wedding in Minneapolis and couldn't have been happier! Our DJ, Shawn Parker (the PA announcer for the Minnesota Timberwolves!) did a fantastic job. He obviously has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing -- his expert music selections and ability to sync with the mood of the crowd got everybody up on the dance floor, from the bride and groom's friends in their 20s to aunts and uncles in their 60s. I used Instant Request for my wedding back in December 2009. I really liked that I could go on their website and pick all of my own music and also pick music styles that I liked and didnt like. Some of my guests were not too happy because I put a block on some songs that I didnt want played that they did( I am not a big fan of cheesy songs like polka and the chicken dance for my wedding) but I was happy that the DJ stuck to what we liked for our wedding. I also liked that they took requests for songs and seemed to have just about any song anyone wanted. I think the price was good and comparable to other companies that I have seen too. Instant Request DJ Entertainment is the company to go with! Wow! They let you help plan as much or as little of the music selection and dance activities as you want to. I really wanted to pick out a lot of the songs to play and they had an easy website tool to help me do that. I also was planning a "La Hora Loca", latin dance tradition from the groom's side, and they found the perfect DJ, who speaks spanish and has done the "La Hora Loca", to meet my needs.
