An advantage of using them is that they are a small, long standing, local team, so that one is dealing with known individuals in a long term relationship who have excellent local knowledge. Throughout the decades of our relationship they have always responded quickly to any issues, concerns or matters needing dealing with. Over the years an element of friendship became a pleasant, positive part of the business relationship. I highly recommend them as agents for renting and selling properties.

Mouldy, damp, smelly flat which had leaks, leading to mould and mushrooms growing in the carpet…read more Mould ruined my belongings and I had to dispose of clothes and shoes. En-suite toilet broke several times and spewed poo all over floor. Incompetent estate agents who have one handyman who is rude and unprofessional. They were the people I dealt with the entire time I lived in Harborne and always sorted out any issues we had with the house. Recently, a friend of ours was moving to Birmingham and wanted to live on the Bearwood side of Harborne in order to be close to her new job. Douglas Estates were brilliant and, even though our friend was at this time still out of town, arranged viewings for us and sorted everything out. Very good indeed.

It could really do with the outside cleaning up as it looks very untidy and unkempt. It also does not make you feel very welcome as a customer as the assistants stare at you when you are looking in the window. The sale boards they use stand out but I think they need to clean up the shop.

I ended up living in Trident House, a large apartment complex, for the tail end of last summer. As you might expect, it's not exactly shining with luxury, and bits of it definitely look like they could do with some attention. The small newsagents definitely seems a bit sorry for itself, with only a handful of items for sale. However, the atmosphere outstrips the upkeep - it definitely has a community feel, with most people that you meet in the lift being happy to talk to you and help you out if necessary. Despite the upkeep issues, Trident should be commended for the good work they do with the people of Birmingham. (I'd like to point out that I visited one of their house recently and that was in much better condition than the apartment block). One can only imagine that the current economic climate only makes their job harder.

The Rotunda boasts the highest open balcony in Birmingham, so the views are really fabulous (although maybe not for the very faint of heart).
