The Beneva office is where my PCP is located. This place cannot handle something as simple as refilling a prescription. I take a few maintenance meds EVERY day and the doctor doesn't give me any refills after my annual physical. So every time I need a refill, the pharmacy has to send it multiple times which causes me to run out occasionally. Today, Monday, Oct 7 I do not a refill approved for a script called in on Thursday, Oct 3 with a message reminder to the doctor's office through the patient portal on Friday morning, Oct 4, and still on Oct 7, NO REFILL! The last appt I had, they left me in the examining room for 90 minutes before the doctor finally came in. I know healthcare is a mess but this group is just pathetic. Changing as soon as I can! Shame on them for providing such a low standard of care. read more

I would give 4 stars for my primary care physician only! Perhaps the front desk staff is overworked but no attempt is made to be cordial or even helpful. My primary care doctor is Anthony Spinella. He is thorough, actually listens, communicates well, very knowledgeable investigative and personable. He is not quick to medicate or recommend surgery unless absolutely necessary. I like that he thinks outside the box. That being said I DO NOT recommend ANY of Intercoastal Medical group specialist. I have tried many and asked friends for recommendations but cannot find any who are satisfied with their specialist care. To make matters worse, if you are attended by one of the specialists in the group you cannot switch to another if you are unhappy. Best to find a specialist outside the group. I am pleased to have the Walk-in clinic available to patients on the weekends. read more

You never have a second chance to make a first impression. Bedside manner begins at the front door (or in my case when Brittany answered the telephone...) The medical staff is excellent. They take time to talk, examine and answer questions. The problem is with the gatekeeper - or in this case Brittany the receptionist. For such an important role it is inexplicable how she does not understand simple courtesy. The angry tone that she consistently projects is enough to turn anyone off of the practice. If you can get past the receptionist you will be rewarded (and hopefully unless she is the daughter of one of the principals she will soon be looking for a new job - hopefully not in the service industry...6 read more

Very disappointed in Intercoastal Medical. Seems like they always look to charge extra. I went to one of their orthopedics for a twisted knee and asked if he could look at my elbow, which I had treated for in this office previously. I was told they could only deal with one injury at a time and to schedule another appointment. Then at their Gastro office, I scheduled a screening which my health carrier pays 100% and they told me I needed to pay $525.00. I recommend avoiding this practice. read more

I have been a patient of Dr.Lindberg for several years now, and all of a sudden I get a certified letter telling me she will no longer be caring for me?! I had called the office ,on Beneva ,to have my blood pressure medicine refilled and was told i needed an appointment with my doctor prior. When i explained that I would be out of meds in two days, the receptionist proceeded to shame me into not making an appointment sooner. I told her that i didn't realize that i was that low and that i was fine making an appointment. She then put me on hold for a very long time and came back and told me my doctor was booked until November. I said I need my medication refilled before then...she proceeded to tell me she would "try" and get it refilled. I said it has to be refilled or I will die!!! She talked over me the entire time and eventually hung up on me. I called back to get her name and was told it was 'Allie'.. The second person i spoke to proceeded to be just as rude, talked over me the whole time I was explaining why I was calling back. At first she said she had no idea about the conversation i had with her coworker , but then said" is this about getting your blood pressure medicine"? Of coarse she knew who i was because Allie obviously told her about our confrontation, but left out that she was the one being rude! I asked for their supervisors name and was told 'Luke' was their boss., but he apparenetly was out for the weekend....RIGHT! Unbenounced to both these women I had the whole conversation on speaker phone and I have witnesses to both women being rude and condescending. This is not over ! I will be filing a formal complaint with the medical board! If this is how Intercoastal does business then I'm happy to find care somewhere else. Shame on Dr. Amanda Lindberg and Luke for not asking me what happened before sending a certified letter releasing me as a patient...Very unprofessional! I will also be getting in touch with the CEO. I am not the only person who has experienced this kind of treatment by the front office staff, and i'm sure I won't be the last. Got a runaround from their scheduler -- was told THREE times that the turnaround was 24 hours -- 72 hours later, they are telling me something else. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Worst experience with the staff. I called before filling a prescription, was assured that the dr would fax the needed information over to the insurance within a few hours. I PAID the medication out of pocket after I was told I could file a claim once approved in a few days. 3 weeks later when I call for a refill it turns out that not only have they NOT sent anything to the insurance, I had to call them for them to tell me that they cannot fill the form out, but of course they can fill a different non generic brand. When I told them it's not the brand that's the issue it's the fact that it's a controlled substance they said they'd call back. They called back a day later to say the doctor doesn't feel comfortable signing anything and they cancelled my next appointment but they'd "call later to setup another appointment with a different doctor". This back and forth was in a span of a week. If Dr Benjamin felt so uncomfortable, why even prescribe it to me to begin with. Why tell me at my appointment that if I have any trouble to call back. Why did the staff say she'd sign it and give me the fax number. I've wasted time, I wasted money, and now you cancel my appointment and say you'll call back to reschedule with a different doctor... yet you never called. If you don't want me to come back, then tell me that, refer me to a doctor who can. You are the most unprofessional medical facility. And if you feel so uncomfortable prescribing medication to put it in writing, THEN maybe don't prescribe it. I could care less what type of medication it is, it's common sense. read more

This group used to be well-regarded. With the phone wait time of over 15 min each call, unfriendly staff AND physician, the in-person office appointment wait time of over an hour, and the errors in transmitting the prescription order that I had to straighten out and coordinate between the pharmacy and office, it is time to move on to a new primary care. If I could rate Dr Jessica Thomas it would be -100 stars. We are waiting for a house in Florida. We moved to NY where we had a place to stay. She refused to refill my husband's diabetes meds. Her PA said he should fly down to meet with her since she would not do a telemedicine appointment. She has the compassion of a gnat to begin with, however, her office would seem to indicate she does not care about what happens to his A1C, something very serious. In speaking to our local pharmacy, they indicated she could just call a refill into Fl and have it transferred up since he is a resident of NY and she is licensed there. She never offered that or any alternative other than go to urgent care in NY, like that is going to do any good. I would not recommend her to anyone. My dog gets better care than she provides. If he has a serious issues, it is on her and I will take action, not that she cares. If you want to be a Dr, have compassion. She is the worst Dr I have ever had or heard of. My wife and I were in need of a new primary care internal medicine physician. We had heard of this group and tried making an appointment for both of us. After a phone call with a very helpful scheduler we had an appointment with Dr. Jerad Hinds. We took back to back appointments and it was a pleasure to develop a relationship with Dr. Hinds. He took time with me, and I'm sure with my wife, t get to know us, learn about my past medical history and to look at future medical needs. As a result of this first interaction it was determined that my blood pressure was a bit high. We discussed treatment plans and he interacted with me via the patient portal. When I wrote him that my BP was still a little high he ordered another prescription. Then as a follow up he called to talk about the change in the prescription. In about 80 years of seeing doctors I have never had one call me or be as responsive as Dr. Hinds has been via the portal. At best I have gotten texts from nurses, physician assistants or receptionists about next appointments. Not only did Dr. Hinds follow up with me but also with my wife regarding labs she needed for an upcoming visit with a specialist. This level of follow up and caring I should think is pretty rare in today's rush times to provide quality patient care. read more

It's almost impossible to get them on the phone. They'll literally leave you on hold for 40 minutes or more just to schedule an appointment. And when you try to schedule an appointment online they don't call you. I don't know how else to get a hold of them. So disappointing because I do like Dr. Canada. read more

After being a patient for 20 years at intercoastal medical. I have never been so disappointed in my care. my insurance changed, and they would not approve one of the medications that I needed. so I called Dr. Bonaroti to try to get them to call my insurance company and do an appeal. Doctor bonarotti was unavailable for 2 and a half months. I gave her staff the fax numbers and information needed to file an appeal. They never submitted the information. I made 9 phone calls to the office (they deny this, but I have phone recordes to prove it). On they 9th try, it took a nurse named Daria under an hour to accomplish getting the prescription filled. Thank you, Daria. Even after expressing to the staff my discomfort and the repercussions of not having these med was causing, they didn't care. Today, I arrived home to a certified letter that Dr. Bonaroti would no longer be responsible for my care, and I needed to find a new doctor. Not once did Dr. Bonaroti contacted me to see if she could help. If you want a caring, compassionate doctor and staff, do NOT go to them. read more

I am at their lab office #102, this has got to be the nastiest group of people I have ever encountered. They lazy ones that sit behind the window think they are God's. I walked in with my Mom who can hardly walk, and the lady says no appointment go to the next window, now she has no other customers and the next window/clipboard is at arms reach, but still makes my Mom work over to it. My mom than goes has a seat and the same lady whom will not pass the clipboard makes her get up and walk back to the window to "confirm" her name, DOB and ask if her insurance was still the same. Now Mom Walk back to her seat, has a seat again. So now they called her name, twice. My Mom saw her shoe lace once untied and I guess it took to long for me to tie it. Not even once did anyone here say Hello, Thank you, could you. Not one except one Hispanic lady doing lab work. The one that called my Mother looked like she was pissed to be at work today. Do this people forget this are customers that pay for their salaries? What a bunch of loosens. They do not even wait for people to finish talking before they interrupt and ask for the DOB, and it's not a please may I have your date of birth, it's an interruption and a what's your birthdate. I found this Group on-line. I had high hopes for a podiatrist but never even got to see one. I needed to change my appointment and the office is impossible to get in touch with. I called 3 times, and different times of the day and was on hold for more than 15 minutes w/no one picking up. Trying to change it on-line by asking for a new appointment didn't work either. They state that I would get a call in 24 hours, no call. Finally had to leave message w/answering service but still getting text messages to click in to my scheduled appointment. Today I finally got in touch with someone at the office and in explaining what was happening she hung up on me. Not a way to win patients. I have no idea how Dr Mark Dreyer would be and I don't plan to find out! Just sad. He probably has no idea how unprofessional the staff is supporting him. read more

First, let me say that my husband had been a patient of Dr. Rabins for 20 years. Dr Rabins had been good. Last fall my husband called and made an appointment with Dr. Rabins for congestion we could not relieve .He got to the office and was told that Dr. Rabins would not see him in the office because he had not been vaccinated. Dr. Rabins called him and told him it was "classic case of Covid". Insisted they do a Covid test, even though he had just had two previous negative. The next day Rabins called saying test was negative and gave him a prescription for antibiotics and steroids. Dr. Rabins never laid eyes on my husband. Three days later my husband made two calls to the office because he was not getting any relief. Second call the nurse called and said she would have Dr. Rabins call. No call. As a result we struggled for another month trying to find help. Finally went to Jacksonville. His "classic Covid" turned out to be a nasal pharyngeal mass that biopsied out as malignant melanoma. Surgery and radiation. And no call or no letter from Dr. Rabins. I did send him a letter, which I never got a response.This is a classic case of patient abandonment. If you looking for a primary Dr, keep looking! Dr A. Austin ordered a Cologuard colon cancer test for me. It came back POSITIVE. Was I notified of this? NO! No call. No message. No email. No contact at all. Weeks passed and I just happened to notice it on my Patient Portal info. In the meantime Dr Austin was supposed to send an order for lab work on an unrelated subject directly to the lab. IT WAS NEVER SENT to the lab, found this out when I got to the lab! What a wast of time, had to wait for over an hour at the lab to find out the order was never sent. Of course I found a new Dr. but when I called Austin's office the clerk refused to send my medical info to the new Dr. because I didn't have their fax #. By the way, she could use a course in basic civility as well. Only use these people if you have a masochistic streak. read more

For both of my 2 appointments so far the check in has been quick and easy, making appointments has been simple, and I've had great experiences with all the staff! I have been going to Dr Perez for many years and have been is very happy. Well now you have to alternate drs every year, so this time I had to see dr Tina McCartan. This was one of the rudest Dr I have been to and I have been to a lot. First time ever that I have been late or missed an appointment with Dr Perez office. This day my daughter was so sick and in the emergency room. I left her there and went for my appointment ( because it's so hard to make an appointment at this office) I called and told them that I was running about 15 mins late that if they will still see me. The lady up front said well normally it's only 15 mins late that we can see you but I will let the dr know and come on and drive careful. I get to the office I said sorry for being late the front desk girl said its ok please fill out your paper work and they will be with you.. As I get called in after waiting 5 mins no biggy. The nurse calls me back very nice tell her a little bit about how my morning was not going well with my daughter and so on. As the nurse leaves the room I asked her if the dr was running behind (as I know she had to squeeze me in but just ask and she said no....) the Dr walks in NO hello how are you? First thing out of her month.... I am not the one running late you are and don't expected that when you are late we will squeeze you in our appointment. I said I called and gave you guys a heads up and no one said that I couldn't come in. Like I said so rude! Pissed me off so bad especially I was having a bad day! I have been to that office and waited 45 mins pass my time for my appointment NOT once did I bitch and they never called me that they were running late. I will Never recommend Dr Tina McCartan very rude and no compassion. read more

Dr. Rubin, at Intercoastal Medical Group on Beneva rd, is a pill pusher. I went in with slightly high blood pressure and anxiety. The meds he prescribed caused severe insomnia to which he prescribed more pills at the follow-up 2 wks later. After ordering my own lab work with LabCorp on east ave south, I found out that my histamine levels were too high. I'm taking all-natural histamine blockers found at Earth Origins. Levels are back to normal after 4 days. I am taking beet supplements for my blood pressure and after 3 days it was reading normal. I am taking Ashwagandha for stress and insomnia and now am stress-free and sleeping great. Feeling so wonderful, I canceled my last appointment with Dr. Rubin on May 19th, 2021, because I do not have insurance and had already spent over $800 in visits and prescriptions and just found that I didn't need a follow-up and get more pills. Unfortunately, my credit card was on file for authorized payments after appointments and they charged me another $47 on Sunday, May 30th, 2021 without my permission. They told me that they had made a mistake and didn't charge me enough on my last visit which was on May 4th, 2021. Very unprofessional to charge someone's credit card, without authorization, on a Sunday, 25 days after the appointment. I had to report my card stolen... because it was! Very unprofessional. We will no longer be seeing Dr. Rubin and his dishonest staff. read more

I strongly advise you not to seek the services of Dr. Kevin Lipscomb at the intracoastal medical group in Lakewood Ranch. Dr. Lipscomb will drop you as a patient without any warning or any communication for something as simple as missing an appointment or having to cancel or change an appointment. Find another doctor who will care for you and communicate with you before just dropping you as a patient for no reason. We all deserve better patient care than this kind of service. read more

I would like to update my post about intercoastal Medical. A couple of days after I wrote the review I ended up in the emergency room. That severe pain that my doctor ignored was my appendix that had ruptured. I went over two weeks with a ruptured appendix. My body formed a mass that was 20 cm around my appendix that saved my life. However I ended up with sepsis almost dying all because my doctor's office sent me a letter saying I was no longer a patient, and then never followed up with my care. In the letter that they sent me saying I was no longer their patient it also stated that in case of an emergency they were still my primary care for 30 days. Since I received the letter on February 9th and was having emergency surgery on February 17th this fell within that 30 day period. They had finally set up a CAT scan and actually called me to say I missed my appointment. I missed my appointment because that previous night I was having emergency surgery. So when they call me Monday morning they were informed that I had emergency surgery and they put me through to my primary care doctor's receptionist. I let her know that I was in the emergency room and that Dr quartermain with my doctor. Sarasota Memorial had to assign me a primary care doctor because my doctor never showed up never called and never made any attempt to find out if I was alive or dead.after 9 years of having the same doctor I was very hurt and shocked that they did not make any attempts to contact me to make sure I was okay. the emergency room doctor touched my stomach for all of thirty seconds and knew right away there was something severely wrong. My primary care doctor sent me out of the office with no plan in place for follow-ups. I don't even blame him I plain intercoastal medical and their policies and procedures. Someone severely needs to look into this before more people end up like I did. I had to have pieces of my colon removed to remove the mass I missed over a month of work. I've lost thousands of dollars in medical bills and lost wages, all because intercoastal medical decided I wasn't someone they cared enough about to have as a patient. read more
