Then there were the simple parts that had been marked up nearly 300% compared to standard retail prices. Our advice: Get multiple bids, insist on clear written details about labor, equipment, and materials, and don't rely solely on verbal assurances--otherwise, you risk paying for work and materials you didn't actually receive. I Wanted old caulk removed from expansion joints and refilled with expandable caulking (preferably self leveling). What they put in was mortar. Consequently, it cracked within 4 days. They came back out to fill cracks and "corrected" by smeared some caulking along the cracks. The end result is a very unprofessional and unsightly. Hardly a $500 job.
