If you have a rental car like we did, the drive is not long (about 10-15 min). The scenery is gorgeous- we had a view of the vineyards from our balcony- and the hotel is so charming and well-kept. The lower level of the hotel has a fitness room and spa with a sauna, whirlpool/jacuzzi, steam bath, and a sun deck. It was all very pleasant and relaxing. They do charge 4 euro for the whirlpool but everything else is free. Parking is no extra charge and hassle-free...they have spaces right in front of the hotel and some a little off to the side as well. They also offer a luggage cart to save you multiple trips. Wi-fi only costs 1 euro per day. The hotel has an elevator and air conditioning! Bed was comfy. The breakfast here was very nice- we did not eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant so I cannot comment on the other meals but if it's anything like the rest of the hotel, I'm sure it's amazing. The staff, especially the woman who runs the front desk (owner?) is SO incredibly sweet and helpful. Anything we needed, any question we had, all we had to do was ask and it was handed over to us with a friendly smile. The staff we encountered spoke English rather well so communication wasn't an issue for us. Upon check-in, we were even given cards that gave us discounts at popular places to visit in town (the casino, Caracalla Spa, etc.) We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to returning some day!

The rooms…read moreare incredibly spacious and well furnished, the water pressure is phenomenal, and the rooms/private decks look out at an amazing view of the heart of the Black Forest. It also features the best breakfast I have seen from Berlin to Munich, with thorough offerings of breads, fruits, meats, fish, and more. As well, featuring offerings of freshly cooked eggs and coffee at your request. For dinner, there are 3 restaurants easily within walking distance (one just across the street), and the town of Baden-Baden just down the road has endless offerings of fantastic meals from Michelin Starred cuisine to takeaway pizza. Where this hotel really shines though, is the staff. I was greeted by a welcoming smile and they remembered my name throughout my stay making me feel extremely welcome. I even locked my keys in my car and the front desk helped me get assistance after I had already checked out. While I waited for help I was treated to a cappuccino and the continuous kindness of those who work here. I couldn't have been more appreciative of my stay here and I hope I get a chance to return. If you are coming to visit the Black Forest, Baden-Baden, or simply the country of Germany, I cannot recommend a place to stay more than this.

On my birthday, Mr Sablottni, the restaurant manager, greeted me with birthday wishes and seated us in a private room for my birthday breakfast. A very decadent chocolate birthday cake was delivered to me during our breakfast. Later, champagne & cake was delivered to our room for us to enjoy on our spacious balcony overlooking the city of Baden Baden. During our stay, all of the staff went out of their way to help us with directions, recommendations, and reservations. I was very pleased with our hotel room which was spacious and updated. The hotel's location is convenient for walking to restaurants and shops in Baden Baden. We have stayed in many luxury hotels and the Dorint in Baden Baden is my favorite!

First morning I couldn't use navigation in rented car, man from the front desk came out and set it up. Right now I'm watching old Russian couple at the breakfast. Hotel sent Russian speaking guy to help them to make sure they are comfortable. Unbelievable! This place keep surprising me with level of comfort and how clean and well organized everything is here. All little details are done with love and smart way for customers. Bedding is hypoallergenic and comfortable. My room has beautiful view and a little balcony. I enjoyed pool, spa and face&body massage. Katrin is very professional and polite. Spa area is spotless also. Everyone I met outside was friendly, helpful and not irritated by tourists. Access to the hotel is easy and reception staff are friendly and quick. Rooms are reasonably spacious, clean and in good condition. The hotel, being on the edge of town, is quiet. A lift provides access to the various floors. A table in the restaurant is allocated to you, so for both breakfast and dinner (for those on half-board) you can go straight to your table without waiting to be seated. The quality of food served to those on half board is very good, with a soup, salad (from the extensive buffet), choice of mains and dessert. A once-weekly treat for meat lovers is the "grill evening" where the main course is replaced by a grill-buffet (of a very high standard). Service in the restaurant is quick (even on busy nights) and very friendly. Breakfast consists of an extensive buffet offering various cheeses and an array of cold meats (including fine Schwarzwälder Schinken, naturally), yoghurts, preserves, fruits juices and a wide selection of bread and rolls. The cafe (with terrace) offers coffee and cake from lunchtime onwards. Spa and sauna facilities are extensive and modern with a humorous Black Forest twist in the form of the "tree-house sauna". Further renovations of the reception and bar area are planned. Location-wise, the hotel sits at the top end of Tonbach, just up the valley from the Traube Tonbach. The area has extensive walking, hiking and cycling routes with extremely well marked paths and routes. The hotel also makes an excellent base for gourmets visiting the world famous restaurants of the town of Baiersbronn, in particular the "Schwarzwaldstube" which is only 100m away. In summary, this is an excellent family run hotel - ideal for a relaxing spa stay or for those seeking the exercise of walking / hiking / cycling or for gourmets.
