While these have their merits, if you're interested in learning how to become a musician, with a foundation in technique, theory and performance, I couldn't recommend MIC highly enough. My teachers have been experienced, professional musicians who have performed with other professional musicians. Consequently, as performers, they are high caliber musicians. My current teacher is certified to teach the RCM curriculum, one of the few internationally recognized curricula for students who want to be qualified at increasing levels of proficiency. While I'm not seeking the RCM qualifications, I know that my teacher is teaching me to a professional standard. Her youngest student is 4, and I've seen how gentle and encouraging she is with that student. I'm multiples of 4, and she's gentle and encouraging with me as well!

They moved to to an in-person course with a "complimentary" upgrade of the ebook, which was not wanted. The online course is $30 less expensive than the in-person course, so I don't see how this is considered an upgrade. Class was cancelled 2 days ahead of the event, with no details given why it was being cancelled. In their response, they are giving a BS excuse that an email was invalid. I had tried to be in communication with the company a day prior, to which they were incredibly rude and then never responded to my question final. An online enrollment was NOT possible for this situation. Screenshots of the ghosted email communication attached.

(See UPDATED review below)…read more I cannot recommend this business. My experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, and I am convinced this is a scam operation. First, their website is poorly set up. There is absolutely no contact information available--no email address, no phone number, nothing. The only way to communicate is through an internal messaging portal on the site. Unfortunately, it is a black hole. I have sent multiple messages through that portal and never received a single response. The exam experience was a nightmare. They required me to scan my entire workspace before starting, which felt like a huge invasion of privacy for a company that offers zero customer support. Then, once the test began, I was given 80 questions to complete in only 30 minutes. The time limit is completely unreasonable, and to make matters worse, a significant number of the questions were on topics not covered in the training materials. It feels like they set me up to fail. Now, to add insult to injury, I tried to log in to my account today to find that it has been deactivated. I can no longer access anything I paid for. This confirms my suspicion that this is a scam operation designed to take your money and disappear. The complete lack of transparency, the unresponsive communication portal, the invasive proctoring, the impossible exam, and now the deletion of my account make this business highly unprofessional. Save your time and money and look elsewhere. **Update to My Review: ** The owner responded to my review claiming they have "24/7 live human chat support" and a "dedicated phone number." I feel obligated to clarify this for anyone reading, because this is misleading. The Phone Number: I called it. It does NOT connect to a live person. It goes straight to a voicemail recording. You leave a message and hope someone calls you back. That is not support -- it is a voicemail box. The Chat: It is NOT staffed by humans. It is an AI chatbot that gives generic, scripted answers. When you need actual help with your account or exam, the bot cannot help you. There is no real person behind it. Account Access: I can no longer log into my account at all. The website says my account is inactive. When I tried to register a new account using the same email address, the website told me that email is already in use. So I am completely locked out of the course materials and exam access that I paid for, with no way to contact anyone to resolve this. Next Steps: I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and other consumer protection agencies. This is not a misunderstanding -- this is a company that takes your money, provides no real support, and then cuts off your access entirely. According to my research, the business claims to be ANSI accredited. According to the ANSI National Accreditation Board's official directory, My Food Service License is listed as an accredited organization under Accreditation ID 9154 with the letter code MFSL. Their listed address in the ANSI database is 680 N. Lake Shore Drive, Suite 110-1110, Chicago, IL 60611, which is different from the address they provide on their BBB profile (1101 Davis St Unit 5288, Evanston, IL 60204-3190). Their ANSI accreditation is valid through August 28, 2028 for the Certified Food Protection Manager credential. However, this accreditation only means their exam content meets certain standards. It does not verify their business practices, customer support, or that they are not operating a scam. Many fraudulent companies obtain legitimate accreditations to appear trustworthy while still defrauding customers. Bottom line: This company advertises support they do not actually provide. The phone number is a voicemail box. The chat is a bot. If you have any problems -- and you probably will, given the misleading exam -- you are completely on your own. I stand by my original review: this feels like a scam.

Kurt Naebig's Monologue class stands out as having been particularly impactful. Kurt helped me find well-suited monologues and a level of specificity in my work that really brought my monologues to life. A case of opportunity meeting preparation, I used a monologue I had recently worked in Kurt's class to successfully audition for representation! Having taken taken this class in-person, hybrid and virtually, I can honestly I can say I prefer the virtual version. The level of instruction was consistent with in-person, however the amount of reps in Zoom class was greatly increased. And, as all of our work is now in the virtual world, it was also great prep for Zoom auditions. I highly recommend this class and Acting Studio Chicago!

Not only were friendships made but the skills these kids learned will stick with them forever. We have gotten great feedback by our agent after auditions that my daughter gave a great self tape and alot of that is because of the training she has received at ASC. If your kiddo is into acting this is the place to get their training.
