I recently got married on July 22 of this year! And I thought to myself, what better wedding gift to give to my new husband, but a boudoir album. My husband absolutely loved it. I gave it to him the day after our wedding, before we went off to our honeymoon and he was so thrilled. Primarily, it was a gift to my husband, but also a gift to myself to embrace my body and self. I did my photoshoot with Barbara back in April and she and her hair/makeup artist made me feel so comfortable. Barbara really prepares you for the shoot once you book her and has a lot of instructions (which I really did appreciate). I did feel nervous because I'm camera shy normally, and I was going to be baring it all for the camera. Barbara plays music during the shoot and there are different outfit and jewelry changes. Leaving the shoot, who know how tired I would be posing in front of a camera (I don't know how models do it! Kudos!), but I felt so happy and empowered. 5 stars for the photo session itself 1 star for pricing if you decide to go beyond the groupon 7/31: The photo session itself was great; Barbara made me feel really comfortable with the process. I had to use all of her lingerie because all of mine didn't do anything for my body haha. She sanitizes everything before use but some of her outfits were outdated or just not what I was into. I looked like a baby prostitute in the 80's in some of them (it means slightly cheap looking and fitted that decade, Barbara). I found out they had issues with their phone company when they were switching services plus perhaps they were busy the first few calls. I'm not sure, but for 6 months though? 8/1 : I came back to select the pictures. She took about 90 + pictures with 4-5 different sets. Here's the catch that other people have mentioned but didn't bother to go into detail... $60 is a steal on Groupon and it comes with 6 standard (4x6?) printed pictures and the same 6 pics on a CD (usb is +$8). BUT, if you wanted more than that, the pictures come in "packages" in very small increments, as 12, 16, 24, etc. Starting at 120 + tax additionally, for the set of 12 (that's including your the 6 that's part of Groupon, so you're paying for 6 more pictures for $135 (after tax), which means my experience was a $200 one yielding 12 pics). There were incidents that rubbed me the wrong way.... 1) Obviously the scheduling 2) Their Groupon offer is a bit of a trap, because pricing is ridiculous. And that price above is doubled if you don't make a decision to choose a package that day. ($330 for 12 pics and a photo sess... that's insane) You're better off walking away with just the experience and 6 pics as a momento if you're hesitant unless you have g's just lying around because it definitely goes there.(She questions my credibility with her response, but she definitely has packages in the g's and that's what I was referring to if you wanted 150+ pics all nicely placed in an overpriced photo cardstock photo album or something like that.) My twelve pics came in a dinky plastic spiral bound mini photo album with clear inserts and paper black cardstock as the backdrop... it looked very cheap. The editing was done more so of just a slight retouch style, but if I can see my bug bite under my bum from really far away, I don't really know what to say about that other than just slight frustration, I guess, *because I couldn't tell this was the case from when I was canvassing the picture earlier on in the selection phase, but I guess that's on me... $5 additional for each picture to be retouched further. I'm not sure if the company's clientele are a little older and maybe are hesitant to go with freelance photographers who do this sort of stuff, but man, her prices are crazy off, but I guess the confidentially factor is nice. 8/3: I came back a few days later to pick up the products. Usually this would take about 10 days, but she managed to do everything from start to finish in 5 because I was going back to LA, which was very considerate of her. I honestly bought the package because she put a lot of effort in our photo session and took like an extra 1.5 hrs just because she was so into it and had fun shooting with me; she provided good banter and is a charming older lady but can be a bit snippy; when it comes down to the pictures and pricing, know what you want, and be ready to spend big money if you love her product. She doesn't push you, but the way it's set up, you literally have to make your decision and pay then and there when you select your pictures. read more

Barbara and her staff are fantastic. I had never done a boudoir photo shoot before and I was pretty nervous and excited at the same time. Getting an appointment to work with my own schedule was pretty easy. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by Barbara. We had a short consultation on what we're going for and she helped out with picking out the outfits. My make up artist Lisa was amazing. I let her do her thing and she was really great at asking me if I like my hair and make up as she was working her magic. Once I got into my first outfit I felt so confident and beautiful and ready for the photo shoot. Barbara was really great at knowing how to pose me and directing me with my poses. I really felt like a model for a day. When I came back a few days later to view my photos I was truly amazed. At first I couldn't believe that was me. I found Intimate Photography through the Local Twist coupon offering. I realized that I had about three days before my coupon expired to use it as it was in my purse for months:-( I called to see if I could acquire an appointment prior to the coupon expiring. Barbara was so accommodating and saw to it that I got an appointment right away. I was a bit nervous as I have not done such a photo spread before and when I got to the studio it was in a setting I found to be very comfortable and a good use of the space. I did read the other reviews and I was set on building my own opinion and experience. I was very impressed with the selection of accessories, shoes, hats, wigs, sexy lingerie and props that were at my disposal. Barbara took her time in helping me choose items that would work with the outfits that I brought as well as offered me options to photograph in. Barbara was sensitive to my body concerns and helped me choose poses, props and outfits that only highlighted my assets:-) I did purchase retouching and it was well worth it! I really enjoyed having my boudoir photo session at this studio. My girlfriends gave me a Groupon for my birthday. It was fun to look through the studio's sample photo albums to choose which poses I was interested in doing and also what I wanted to wear. Barbara, the photographer, was patient and helpful. She knew which lingerie/outfits would best flatter me. I chose to do my own hair and makeup, but she also offers those services at her studio. She had a nice selection of jewelry too. I felt very comfortable during the photo session. Her photo room is beautiful with nice lighting, props and backgrounds. Barbara knew exactly how to pose me for each photo in the most flattering way. When I came in to view my photos, Barbara showed them to me on a computer screen and we were able to sort through which ones I liked. I was truly amazed as my photos were jaw dropping beautiful. I looked like a model! The photos had minimum touchups and were the real me. I was very impressed with Barbara's professionalism and talent with taking my photos. I found Barbara via local twist and on a whim decided to do some photos for my husband. It was not expensive, the voucher was $80, so I wasn't risking much. I did have my hair and makeup done by her recommended professional who I found to be very nice, warm and did a very nice job. I would suggest this as I think her airbrushing of chest area made all the difference in the pictures. I have read some of the reviews and I can see the viewpoints. I would say this is a great place for a mature woman who wants to do some suggestive but not overly risque pictures. The location is in her home and she is quite particular about things like taking off shoes upon entering, where you place your clothes while changing and wear you put your purse. The selection of outfits is quite outdated and most of it is low end from Target of Fredericks. Could definitely use some new items. I brought one bra set and was very happy that I did. Although I did find 2 things that fit well enough and the pictures turned out well. She seems to be very comfortable in the harlequin romance genre. Despite the fact that I most picked out pictures from the very modern looks, like shadowed nudes and direct body shots, we still went through her process which is on a bed that looks like something over of a western romance novel. She definitely does not want to do anything too risque. I did end up getting a couple of direct breast shots, which my husband loved, she kept encouraging me to cover up with arms, legs, etc and it was very clear nothing below would be shown in any picture. I definitely felt more like she hired me to model than me being the client. And while she provided very good direction to make the shots turn out well I wouldn't say she did anything to try to put me at ease or make it a fun experience. In short, my pictures ended up being lovely. I picked about a dozen that I liked and she did not pressure me to buy more. My husband liked them although his one comment was that if I went through all this trouble he would have liked to see more flesh. As stated, perfect for a woman in her 40s+ but if you are young and looking for edge you may want to look elsewhere. read more

I bought a certificate through Reader City for 6 photos and a CD of the prints. I got it on a whim thinking I wasn't getting any younger or thinner, and a month later got engaged so it ended up being a perfect engagement present. I'm not very photogenic; this is not your typical female "oh I'm hideous" or "I look fat in this" complex, I really just think I look far worse in photos than I do in real life. So I wasn't expecting to like the photos as much as I did, and even ended up adding more to the album I purchased. Barbara is an excellent photographer and has a lot of tricks and tips to help you pose, highlighting your best assets and camoflauging any not-so-sexy bits. I also really appreciate her honesty, she'll tell you when you need to tuck something in or cover something up, and I think as women we all know that when someone tells you "you look great in that!" when your spare tire is hanging out or cellulite abounds, it comes off as fake and can make you even more self-conscious. Overall I'm so glad I did this, and I know my fiance will be more than surprised when he opens this particular gift. read more

I was nervous at first to have intimate photographs taken, but I knew my husband would really appreciate them. He is in the military and so it is really hard to think of great gifts for him. The photographer Barbara is used to working with military clients and even had some cami's for me to do some sexy shots with! I found this studio through Groupon and thought it would be perfect for my upcoming anniversary. I've always wanted to do something like this but had just never encountered a professional studio that specialized in it. Everything was very well organized. I was emailed directions, which was very helpful since it's in a residential area. I brought some of my own clothes but found that I really loved the things that she showed me and ended up not wearing any of my own things. I did do my own hair and makeup, though- which I was glad I did in the end, because then I was able to purchase more photos with the extra cash! If you have any doubts about your ability to do your own hair and makeup, though, I definitely recommend getting it done there. I felt very comfortable throughout the shoot. It was fun and easy and nothing was rushed! Her direction was very clear and she was very encouraging throughout. Upon viewing my photos, it was extremely difficult to choose which ones I wanted because they were all really amazing. I am pretty comfortable with my body and overall appearance, but this is by far the sexiest I have ever looked! The poses really accentuated my curves, which I greatly appreciated.
