The Potteries Centre is the main shopping centre in Stoke-On-Trent. It was formerly known as Intu Potteries until the parent company went into administration. The mall feels like it has so much potential, but that potential is wasted. There's such a large number of empty units now, and this is shown in "The Hive" with a row of closed restaurants which look like they've been empty for years - right next to Nando's and the Cineworld cinema. There's also a large amount of space in the mall which seems unused, including the pretty balcony, which just should be bustling. The staff around the mall were friendly, and they did try their best to offer assistance, although their knowledge of the local area could have been better as they struggled to recommend a supermarket nearby where I could buy essentials, including milk, to take back to my hotel. There's a small number of stores located here, nothing too exciting but certainly OK for a smaller city. Ann Summer, HMV, JD Sports New Look, Superdrug, Quiz and WHSmith have locations here, including all of the major mobile phone networks. The mall closes at 6 pm between Monday and Saturday, too, which does feel too early for a city. 2* - It feels that other than the rebrand, the mall hasn't changed for the better in years, and it's just depressing and declining. read more

It's not bad but for a smaller city, but missing most of the bigger brands you'd expect to see in somewhere like Westfield or Trafford centre, such as h & m, and berksha. There's a few cafes to eat, which are ok, nothing standoutish. I think the recent addition of The Hive - which has lots of new restaurants and a cinema - will be the start of the potteries getting better. All in all, it's ok for a weekend shop, but if you're looking to splash the cash, head to one of the bigger cities. read more

Had a lovely afternoon wandering around here after a random weekend in Leek. Lots of shops and things to look at, little confusing signage for toilets etc but does the job! Has a massive primark with loads of choice as well. They also have a little market type place on the bottom floor which has quirky knitting stalls, beauty, DIY- pretty much anything you might need! Also have a couple of small 'builder- ish' kind of cafe's serving chips and breakfast stuff (which looks like it sits there for hours...beware!) read more

An average shopping centre catering for different styles, price ranges and purposes. It offers a number of both designer shops to the bottom floor with the bargain finding market place. Prices are usually cheap in most shops however the designer shops are obviously a little bit more pricey - expected. There are a variety of shops available from clothing to household to electronics. Set on three different floors with different accessibility so all needs are met for you will find an afternoons worth of activity. There are places where you can sit and eat all be it a bit expensive for what they are and where they are situated but do offer quality food. All staff are friendly and efficient as well as helpful in the shops you visit. There are stalls in the main areas of the centres which hold hair straightening sessions, makeovers etc. Be warned there are pesky sellers that have stalls set up on the different floors but you can avoid them fairly well. The car park is a multistorey and can be accessed by lift so pushchairs and wheelchairs can easily get from one to the other without hassle. It is a pay for ticket car park which can be redeemed by the machines near the lifts where it will tell you how much you owe on your token. read more

This is actually quite a good shopping centre for a place as small as Stoke-on-Trent. It houses all the main high street favourites which are easy to find and is very big. Saturdays can get particularly busy but not as near as bad as some shopping complexes. It's easy to navigate around and has a great little old style market area in the basement level which to this date I've seen no other mall do, this is a nice little touch even though I have rarely ventured in there for goods. Shame they removed the food court, why did they do that anyway? Worth a visit if you live in the Staffordshire area. read more

I love the potteries shopping centre, it has an excellent rance of stores as well as a large parking area. Stores include whsmith hmv and various clothing and shoe stores. There is a small food court on the uppermost level and a Market. This shopping centre is always busy which may be due to the proximity to the local university. Good variety of shops, although can be a bit overwhelming on a busy day. The escalators aren't exactly the most reliable, so often stairs are your best bet. The information points are handy, and the maps are accurate. Changeover in some of the shops can be quite quick. Access to one of the shops (primark) is a little annoying as you find yourself going down to go back up, and as such can be a little off putting. Toilet facilites are good, but the change in the food court is nothing short of devastatingwas expecting a burger king- found a starbucks. read more

lots of shops within a 3 floor shopping centre, each level is accessible to anyone with a lift stairs and escalators. There is a car park attached that is a pay for ticket car park, it isnt too bad in price but there are lots of car parks local that you could probably find cheaper. There are lots of little market stalls dotted around the potteries centre some of which you can get good stuff from, like round the holiday period you can get good value calendars most of the shops offer a wide variety and there staff are mainly helpful and polite. Primark has brought much more people to the potteries, and more money to the other stores read more

The shopping centre is set on three floors, all three floors are accessable by lift and escalator. The bottom floor has the market on where you can some really nice food, like the oatcakes, cakes veg etc. On the first floor you have the likes of h samauls, disney store, and a lot of phone stores. On floor two you will find HMV, W H Smiths, Game and Next etc. On the top floor you have the play group and the toilets. The accessability is great for disabled. They have a big multi-storey car park which has lifts so disabled and pushchairs have no problem. read more

Managed to get a lot of Xmas shopping done at the Potteries over the weekend. I went early but it was worth it because as I was leaving at around midday it was just starting to fill up. Parking was easy, great choices for food and plenty of shops to suit what I was after :D Recommended. read more

shopping centre with 3 floors of established shops, and an indoor market on the below ground floor which has its own cafe which is very popular with shoppers and market traders due to the quality of its food, especially the cakes! Upstairs there is a wide variety of shops including and men and ladies wear, childrens shop, shoes, jewellers, newsagents, technology shops and evena disney shop Christmas see's the arrival of santas grotto which is popular with people all over the county, although at this this time of year you have to be a brave soul to face a day's shopping in the potteries as it gets so busy and warm you do find yourself stagerring around to find a bench! The food court has unfortuately been taken over by one large starbucks so the previous welath of choice is now gonehowever just means more reason to visit the market cafe and eat cake! read more

fantastic shops ranging from clothes to gadget shops there is staff at the info desks if you need help getting to a certain shop. They have several lifts which are brill for disabled people and there is also a on roof carpark read more

The potteries is expensive for carparking but there is everything you need from clothing and food and a few places to get coffee. Cheap clothes for example a really really big primark. The centre has three levels and it is easy to acess with escolators. They have a really big debhnams and lots of little shops outside the centre. Is a nice place the staff are friendly and the night for late night shoping is usually very busy. They have toilets on the top floor they are clean but ALOT of dirty people leave them in a mess.they have a few information points on each floor and the people are nice. You can get a potteries gift card and spend it in the centre. The centre hasnt really got many fast quick food places, the kfc etc is outside but only a few mins walk. It is bigger than newcastle town and is usually very lively, also to keep the kids entertained just out the centre (outside primark) there is a little kids ride that they can sit on and it turns then around, like the ones you get at the fair. The shopping centre has had a bit of a facelift in recent years. with a new range of shops and places to eat. However, now that they no longer have the foodcourt which housed such places as Burger King, finding somewhere to eat is a little bit tricky. The foodcourt has been replaced with a Starbucks, where it will cost you an arm and a leg to get a sandwich, there is also a Costa Coffee, again very pricey, Druckers - again expensive, if you want anything like McDonalds you have to walk outside the potteries and down the high street, which is a bit of a pain as there isn't really anything else down there other than possibly M&S if your interested. The shops have got a bit better though now with somthing for everything from Primark to design stores. read more

everything you need under one roof! i know you've all heard that one before but in this case its true. as soon as you walk in you can access the floor planner and find which ever shop your trying to locate and it will give you directions to the exact shop you need & what level its on. you could actually shop til you drop in there. clothes ,music,stationary,gadgets,books, shoes .... to name but a few. and when you tired you can find a coffee shop or cafe to have some refreshment before you start again. read more

The Potteries Shopping Centre is one of the main shopping arcades in Stoke-on-Trent. Although it is nowhere near as large as ones in some of the larger cities such as the Trafford Centre, it still has a good range of shops. The layout of the building is ok but not brilliant. I have lived in Stoke-on-Trent all my life and have visited the shopping centre hundreds of times but still have to think twice sometimes when I want to get to a particular shop. The old food court has recently been closed to make room for more shops which was a definite bonus as it was very overpriced and getting a bit scruffy. The car park has also been changed to one which uses small plastic tokens instead of the old system of paper tickets. You press a button on entry to the car park which raises the barrier and ejects a token. You then pay at one of the large yellow machines before you leave meaning no more fines for letting your ticket expire! read more

Good for shopping and plenty of coffee shops

The shopping centre is quite well laid out but it could do with lots of improvement. There could be better shops and more diversity of shops and since the shutting down of the food court there are only coffee shops to eat in. Other than that the place is bright, well laid out and has lots of benches to sit at. read more

Only giving one star as can't give less 15 minutes in a lift for it to stop at the right floor is ridiculous. Will never come here again!!!! Also no one at customer services to complain to in person. read more

this shopping centre is not half as good as it used to be. alot of the shops have closed down, so there are alot of empty shops and they have closed down the food forecourt and replaced it with expensive coffee shops. also parking at the centre is really expensive. read more
