I purchased a number of 100 oz. silver bars from Investment Rarities. Each bar was stamped with their name and the .999 purity stamp. Their claim to fame is an "exit strategy". They claim that they will be their when you choose to liquidate you silver or gold. I brought in two 100 oz. bars to liquidate for another investment. I had all the original paperwork on the purchase. This didn't end up being any quick process because we had history. Even the fact that their own name was stamped on the bars didn't make any difference. They still insisted on testing the bars and I didn't get that check until two weeks later. Nothing quick or seamless about it. In my view, they are not run professionally, regardless of what they say. If you plan to contact them to liquidate anything. Prepare yourself to wait. I think the problem is that they don't have the cash. They have to sell the metal to acquire the funds to make the payout. They work out of dumpy office near the Minneapolis airport. A couple years later, I took the rest of my 100 oz. bars to a coin shop and was able to exchange them for Silver Eagles on the spot. No jumping though flaming hoops. read more

My 81 year old mother purchased silver from Investment Rarities 45 years ago. The bag remained sealed for 45 years, until last summer when she decided it was time to cash in on her investment and brought the never opened, still sealed bag to a reputable coin shop in Vermont, where it was unsealed in from of her. Imagine her surprise when it was discovered that 25 % of the coins that were sold to her, by Investment Rarities, were not actually silver. When she contacted Investment Rarities to ask them to "make good" on the fraudulent purchase, they told her it was too long ago and they would not stand behind their product.
