Yes there is an Ippudo in WeHo and no I never go. Ippudo has become some what of an international tradition for me so I always go if there is one where I'm visiting. This is the first time I had to wait in a reasonably sized line for it but as always, it was worth the wait. This is "near the Louvre" but it's really not. It's quite a walk from there. It was (of course) cold & chilly so ramen was the perfect meal to help me power through my shopping excursion afterwards. I never imagined myself going to Paris to eat ramen, but sure enough I did! When asking some locals for some food recommendations, many suggested checking out some of the ramen restaurants in the 1st arrondissement. Ippudo was in a different arrondissement, but we decided to give it a try! We were seated right away upon walking in. They have English menus available if needed. I ordered the Karaka ramen which was brought out in about 15 minutes or so! It had a nice, spicy broth! It was very creamy and flavorful, the noodles and meat both tender. I opted to add an egg with mine and the inside was perfectly custardy. This was some of the best ramen i've had! It was the perfect cure for a cold, rainy day! read more

As far as taste, very similar to the location in New York. Came on a monday night and it was pretty busy. Ordered the octopus tempura as an appetizer and the Akamaru Ramen. The octopus was delicious and cooked perfectly, nice soft tempura breading. I prefer the Akamaru over the Karaka as you can taste the pork broth alot more (Karaka is served with a spicy broth). Overall the Ramen bowl was perfect. The noodles and chashu were extremely tender, and the garlic oil gave the broth an extra delicious kick! Also very modern and nice inside. You do need to wave at them to get waiter/waitresses attention if you need something. read more

After eating lots of French food, I needed my ramen fix and Ippudo came to save the day! I We came here at around 2pm and it was still packed with a line out the door, however they took our order while waiting in line to help speed up the waiting process once seated. We both got the Tori Shoyu ramen that was exclusive to Paris and we devoured it. I've never had shoyu ramen with such good broth flavor! The meat was also quite tender and the egg was cooked to perfection. Probably one of my favorite bowls of ramen I've had ever - wish I lived closer to an Ippudo location in the US! read more

Comfort food. YESSSS Ippudo is a chain, and there's a reason it's so successful. The fatty pork belly in the Hirata Buns really hit the spot. Their ramen is absolutely the textbook definition of good ramen. Their "modern" Akamaru Ramen comes with customizable noodles - randing from super soft to practically raw. The broth is thinner but definitely has all that porky goodness, and I'm a sucker for black garlic oil. They also have Tokyo Tsukemen, available only in limited quantities. I love tsukemen, but it's not for everyone. The broth is fifty-fifty tonkotsu and fishy, and the dipping adds an extra step if you're really hungry. If you've never had ramen, Ippudo is a great place to start. I'm guessing they're the chain that got the whole world hooked. read more

I'd never been to Ippudo in the Bay Area or in NYC because the lines were always too long! Here in Paris, most French places were closed Sunday night so we came here, and it did not disappoint! (And there was no line.) Good service, kept refilling our waters. Surprisingly they didn't ask how we wanted our noodles. Our ramen and Kara-age appetizer came out very quickly. The Kara-age was very crispy and juicy. My karaka spicy ramen made me tear up at first because it was spicy, but it was very good and warmed my insides (which was needed because it was so wet and rainy outside!) Spotted this Japanese gem when eating at an amazing French restaurant nearby the night before. As soon as we started walking up we saw a woman outside slurping her noodles with her chopsticks and we said yes! We're here! We got seated right away and we're offered the English menus. Very comforting interior, warm and cozy feeling on a cold night like tonight. We started with the croquettes were absolutely satisfying, very crispy on the outside and soft potato filling on the inside glazed with their signature sauce. Next came the pork belly hirata bun! Loved and appreciated how the pork belly was cooked. We've had buns elsewhere, and if the pork is over cooked it will ruin the entire bun. This was not the case here. I ordered the akamaru tamago ramen with futsu noodles. The flavor was deliciously and more importantly, the egg was not over cooked at all. Perfection! My girlfriend ordered the Karaka tamago ramen with futsu noodles and she enjoyed hers as well, except she did wish it was more on the spicier side. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Ippudo and appreciated the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. If you're craving ramen, come to Ippudo! You will not be disappointed read more

Ippudo is my all-time favorite ramen place! I went to this location for the first time last week, and I was surprised at how large the space was-I've been to several other Ippudos both in NYC and Paris, and this was probably the biggest Ippudo I've been to. I also noticed the decor wasn't really in line with their brand, which leads me to believe they probably didn't change out the furniture from the previous restaurant here, no big deal-just an observation. I was very hungry, and arrived shortly before they opened. I was one of the first patrons for the dinner service. The pork belly bun was delicious packed with pork and full of flavor. I ordered a yuzu bomb, so refreshing-I want to mix this drink at home. The ramen was incredible, everything about it was perfect-the perfectly cooked egg and noodles, the tasty broth and pork. I really enjoyed our meal here, it was a nice break from all the delicious French food. I'll be back every time I'm in Paris! read more

Ramen in Paris? Sure, why not. Up until then I hadn't ever had Ippudo before, but my family said that it was good. They weren't lying. The perfect meal for a cold Friday night in the city. At around 8PM, of course there was a wait outside. Full disclosure, I've never had "bad" ramen. Some are better than others. The Akamaru ramen is very good and on par with other international chains I've tried. The broth is definitely rich, and the pork pieces are very tender. It may seem a little pricey, however I'm not privy to how much other locations in the states charge. It seemed a little high for me, but not a detriment to this restaurant. read more

Alright. Yes, I know there is an Ippudo in the Bay Area. And yes, I know I have to visit. But when in Paris? Mais oui! So this is a little embarrassing since I normally do not consume Japanese or Chinese food when in Europe for all the obvious reasons (I have a lot of croissants and pretzels to catch up on) but since it was a rather blustery and cold morning and after spending some time in line at the local La Poste, I wandered into Ippudo. All the rules regarding ramen-ya's apply, which means service is limited and you eat quick and then leave, except that in Paris, you still need to ask for the check. The menu is very basic, with a few choices based on the types of broth, so I went with the Akamaru Special, which is their traditional broth but with boiled egg and pork. While I went with the basic noodle firmness, I saw later that the noodles were straight instead of the kinky texture I grew up with. Nevertheless, the ramen here was pretty good. It was a flavorful and quite savory broth. The egg was a bit on the sweet side, which was different, but overall the experience was a good one. Yum Ippudo! My bf got the shiromaru tamago with extra kameda (noodles) & I got the karkata (spicy) tamago. They didn't ask us how we wanted the noodles, but it came out firm. I kinda prefer it softer (or at least right in the middle.) When my bf got extra noodles, he ordered it soft, and it was actually a lot more tastier imo. The noodles reminded me of ramen in Japan. Ugh, I miss ramen in Japan so much! The soup base was good. I liked the shiromaru better just because it's just a solid broth. The karkata had a good spicy kick in the beginning, but towards the end was too salty and not that spicy. The little meat chunks also had some ginger flavor and was packed with salt. That wasn't my favorite tbh. But overall, it still satisfied my ramen craving and I'd say comparable to the one in San Francisco. Also don't leave the egg in your soup for too long, unless you like your egg yolk more cooked. The wait wasn't too bad, they have us putting our name down, and everyone wanted to crowd in the front part since it was sprinkling outside. (We went on a Thursday night.) We probably waited 30 minutes for a table of 2, but it took forever to place our orders and get our food. This restaurant made my heart and tummy happy on a cold day. We had their traditional ramen and added an egg which was very good, I wish I'd gotten the spicy broth. Started to miss NYC a little bit and ended up at Ippudo in Paris. It gets really busy, just like the NYC location, so don't expect to go during peak dinner hours and not have a wait. The restaurant itself had a white cafe look to it and offered some seating outside. It had a lot of seats, but as I said those fill up fast. Ordered the pork buns and shiromaru ramen. The pork buns as always were absolutely delicious. I am obsessed with the bread they use for their buns and how cloudlike it is. The ramen itself was good, the noodles weren't my favorite because of how thin they are. I slightly like thicker noodles. We were walking around the neighborhood looking for dinner and randomly stumbled upon Ippudo. It was fate. I love Ippudo and it's probably my favorite place to get ramen in the US. Of course we had to try it in Paris. I got the usually Shiromaru Classic and we also shared the Goma Kyuri (pickled cucumbers) and the Ring Ring Salad (which I've never seen on an Ippudo menu, and is essentially onion rings and calamari on a salad). Everything was so good. I don't know what it is about Paris but the food just tastes better. My soft boiled egg had an extra bright yolk. The greens in the salad are fresher. There tempura batter on the onion rings and squid were lighter and crispier. The pork in my ramen was tastier. Amazing, delicious, highly recommended. read more

Best end to a cold day - fun but cold! It's probably not "authentic" (whatever that is) for most people but when in Paris... visiting a chain Japanese restaurant... it's a bit laughable to even be complaining. Ippudo's signature ambience and entrance greeting was nonexistent. Ramen was good but not great. I did appreciate the ability to choose my noodle doneness. Ippudo. This is the standard for ramen in Paris. Don't listen to anyone who says that X ramen restaurant is the "best in Paris" because they are not. Trust me I have tried every single one of them that are around street st. Anne at this point, and not of single one can even touch Ippudo. Not that I was a huge fan of Ippudo in NYC, but Paris is just Paris, sub-par asian food even compared to NYC which already has sub-par asian food. But enough for this rant. Go there with confidence, especially if you have been to any other Ippudo. You will have the Ippudo experience, just like you expect the same coffee every time you go to a Starbucks. I mean, much better ramen than Starbucks coffee though. I was excited to try this place by was sadly disappointed. Service - Good: We did not have a reservation so we happily waited in line. We waited about 45 minutes before being seated outside. We don't speak French, but the waitresses kindly accommodated us. The food: The karaka "spicy" ramen - This was somewhat flavorful but definitely not spicy; the noodles were thinner than I had expected but yummy nonetheless. I actually had to ask the server if they had hot sauce, which they did. It helped a tiny bit. Tonkotsu ramen was flavorless - honestly really disappointing. If you want an egg or nori in your ramen, you have to pay extra. This is something I've never experienced at a ramen restaurant before. The portions are also smaller than I've had at other places in the U.S. (SF/LA) We also ordered hot sake - it tasted like water. Probably the worst sake I've ever tried, unfortunately. I'm a huge ramen fan however this disappointed. We waited 30 minutes to be seated which is fine if you're eating at a top notch place. I wouldn't mind paying 10E For this ramen but 16E is too much. I get basic ramen for 8E at my grocery store and this is much better. The soup was a bit flavorful but more salty than anything else. The pork was hard and not flavorful. The best ramen pork belly I've ever had. I've had better spicy ramen in Los Angeles and Chicago (@ Wasabi), but there is no better pork belly. I prefer the Classic over the Spicy. God bless ippudo. Spicy Ramen + mushroom: broth is thick with great sesame flavor. Noodles are thin and you can request you preferred level of toothiness, also great. The ground pork was unbelievably flavorful, almost pushing the boundary of Japanese flavors into more western style spices, but still good. The chashu was rather thin, and I was like "Oh no..." but then it was also extremely flavorful, although in a more traditional way. Also had a cold sesame and tofu dish that was phenomenal. Improve: Japanese locations (like almost all Japanese restaurants) serve free, cold tea. I REALLY miss this part of the experience. The staff welcome is always appreciated. keep it up! read more

Food is so terrible here. Ramen is super salty. Eel rice is super salty with very bad quality sauce. I've had Ippudo before but this one is definitely the worst and it totally surprised me. I was tired and just want to grab a quick food from a chain restaurant. My expectation was not high but end up couldn't eat anything. At home, and any place I visit, I'm in constant search of the best Veggie Ramen I can find, and this place delivered!
