First off, I don't like giving bad reviews, but I feel it necessary to warn possible renters from this company. Their scam is to get you to sign a lease, then never help tenants with noise complaints or any other issues. After your initial lease is up, you are offered a new lease at a MUCH higher rate. I was offered a new lease at almost $900/month, whereas new tenants could move in at $700/month. And you won't receive your deposit back. The apartment looks decent, but it is extremely loud with barking dogs, slamming doors, and people stomping their feet. It must have been built cheap. Also, many of the 5 star reviews are by the employees. The building is operated by IRET and a quick Google search will show many bad reviews. read more

Worst apartments ever. The hallways are always disgusting. The laundry room is the same, with machines that DO NOT work and rates that don't seem to stop increasing (it's at $4 per load currently). Nobody at the office knows what they're doing. If the property manager isn't there, good luck getting help with anything other than picking up a package. My lease was up, and my rates increased by almost $100!! Even though an identical unit is renting for substantially less. Also don't rely on any of the free wifi (including gamer wifi) because it seems to be running in 20 year old cables. IRET is interested in nothin other than increasing the value of their stock for their share holders. Makes me sick read more

A good friend, my girlfriend and I all decided to get an apartment together. Unfortunately for us, this happened to be Campus Knoll managed by IRET properties. The next year that followed was a nightmarish experience the likes of which I'm sad to say I couldn't repress. By all rights everything started out just fine, pretty standard. The apartment was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. My girlfriend and I of course sharing a room, we were reassured by the person who gave us the tour that it was HIGHLY unlikely that we wouldn't ever have another roommate and if we did that we would be notified the second the application hit their desk. 3 months into our year lease we were all relaxing in the living room, when a key slid into the lock. In shock we all jumped to our feet as a girl and her mother entered the privacy of our apartment. IRET properties had gotten an application for our 3rd room, and not only approved the tenant, but gave her keys and the go ahead to move in with ZERO notice to any of us. When we called and demanded an explanation, the response from the woman on the phone was "Oh... So you aren't having a good experience then?" Are you kidding me? The months that followed couldn't have been worse if this was a low budget comedy movie with a lack of humor. Our new roommate was horrible. Never cleaning up after herself unless you verbally confronted the situation, leaving dishes on the counter and in the sink for days on end until they attracted flies, her room emitted such an odor that what lay beyond the door was a hellish enigma. One day when she went for class she left the door open, when I came back from work the whole apartment smelled to high heaven. I'm human, so curiosity took over and I peered inside. What I saw that day has haunted my dreams ever since. - Bottles upon bottles of dressing -Moldy food -Dirty dishes -USED MAXI PADS I can keep going if you aren't already stifling vomit. When confronted IRET refused to accept any responsibility for their wrong doings. These people don't care about their tenants, they just want your money. If you want to keep your sanity intact, I'd recommend continuing your search for housing. read more

By far the absolute worst rental company to deal with and I have dealt with many in my person and professional life. I live at the Cypress Court Apartments and they have absolutely zero regard for their tenants. After my 6 month lease was up, they sent me a renewal for $50 higher a month which isn't huge, but my same apartment was actually leasing for less than I currently paid. They of course said there was nothing they could do about it. They also claim to be pet friendly, but they had a chemical company spraying the turf during prime time for people to be walking their dog in the morning. I have worked in landscaping for about 15 years and that is just not acceptable. To spray then entire property and leave no where for the tenants to relieve their dogs. Until the turf is dry it is not okay to be on it and with small kids in the neighborhood you would think they would pay more attention. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Unfortunately this is one of the nicer looking places and I am sure all the decent places are owned by IRET. I would still think twice about it. read more

I was really interested in living at either Cascade Shores or Crystal Bay Townhomes and the management team who originally owned those properties (Bouquet Companies) were so friendly and helpful in answering my questions and guiding me through the application process. However, by the time I was ready to apply to rent, they sold the properties to Iret and they do not seem to want me living in their nice homes. I'm not sure if it was the tone of my voice or if I sounded too "ethnic", but Lacey asked for my name so she could be on the "look out" for my application... I thought that was a good sign. There was no link to apply to their newly acquired properties, so when I called back, Lacey offered to email the application to me and said she'd take my payment information over the phone to process my application fee. She never emailed one. First it was because her computer was being worked on. Then there was another excuse. So, I just hunted further for the application online to print it and fax it in. When I called for the fax number, she had someone else answer the phone for her and give the fax number. Fine. I waited until the following day to hear back and heard nothing. So, I called to follow up and give my payment information for the application fee. Lacey said she got the application info and was going to take care of it ASAP. I told her I would not call back and that if she needed anything else from me, I would wait for her to reach out. She said "of course!". I asked her if she needed my payment information to process the application fee like she stated she would the day before... She said no. She didn't need the payment right now... Which anyone reading this must admit is quite odd. That's when I knew. I knew she had no desire to do business with me and I knew I would not hear back from her at all. This was almost a week ago and I still have not heard from her or anyone else at Iret Properties. Oh well... On to the next. I'm not going to beg anyone to take my money or be my landlord. Unless Iret does this kind of thing all the time, I'm sure they know exactly who I am by reading this. This is unacceptable. read more
