Jerk chicken lunch special
Scott W.

Great flavor with the tiniest bit of heat to the jerk chicken. Stopped here to get a quick bite as I headed home from out of town. There's plenty of free parking and the place was very clean inside. The cashier was very friendly. I got the jerk chicken, which came with rice and beans, cabbage, and a single plantain. That would be my one negative is that there was only one slice of plantain. Other than that, the food was great. Tender. Flavorful. Adequate amount.

Nice find! Plenty of parking. They always advertise lunch specials. Very nice professional staff. This place is very clean and spacious. Lots of classic dishes to choose from, and friendly service. I ended up getting the jerk chicken lunch special ($7.99). Great deal! nice size portion. Served with cabbage, rice & peas, plantains. I must say it was very tasty and full of lovely traditional Jamaican flavour. I will definitively visit here again. I would like to experience the other traditional Jamaican items on the menu. Give them a try. You'll be happy you did!!

Ordered from this restaurant twice. First order never arrived. The decided the were too busy. Second order I tried the roti with goat. Curry got and ox tail... everything was trash. Some of the worst I have ever had. Oh and everything was a mess. Do not recommend.

Jerk chicken and curry meal...no veggies

Good is on point but for some reason I got charged extra veggie when my plate doesn't even have the veggie it's suppose to have in the actual meal...come on now!

Curry Chicken Roti

When you find good Caribbean food, you hold on tight and never let go. 1. Curry Chicken Roti was fantastic. The curry chicken was seasoned perfectly... Probably the best I've had. The roti has like a crumbly chick pea type of situation, wish is kind of strange.... But I kind of just ignored it as best as I could. 2. Jerk chicken was well seasoned! 3. Beef patties were on point. I was disappointed they didn't have any more curry chicken patties. 4. Coco bread was like regular white bread. I've only had actually good Coco bread from only a couple of restaurants. Like actually warm and tasting like coconut, which is what Coco bread should taste like. When restaurants serve like regular white bread, I have questions. Portion sizes were phenomenal!

Gizzarda (coconut dessert)

This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch when I'm in the mood for Jamaican or just because my wallet needs a break and I need a hearty meal. Lunch is $7.99 and you get a choice of Curry, Brown Stew or Jerk Chicken which comes with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. Since I'm watching my carbs I usually ask for no rice and they accommodate me. Curry chicken was my go to until someone recommended that I try the Brown Stew Chicken and I love it. I wanted something sweet so I tried the crust-less Gizzarda that is made with chunks of coconut and ginger and almost reminds me of peanut brittle except its not hard. The ginger was a pleasant surprise. They also have ox tails that are pretty good and meaty.

Ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail meal, it was DELICIOUS. Same goes for the plantains and beef patty with cheese. Can't wait to eat their food again!

Pros: I have been coming to Irie Caribbean since about 2004/5 when they were in the smaller location. The food is always awesome and the portions are always large (except as someone said for Shrimp dishes). The Roti is spicy but delicious. I will recommend this restaurant many times over. Cons: Customer Service can be terrible at times. They can be short and rude when they want. They don't take orders over the phone (makes you wonder why they even have a phone number on their website) and they CONTINUOUSLY run out of food like beef patties/patties with cheese and last night I went there was no jerk chicken, no beef patties, and no vegetables ‍ But, it is the only Jamaican Restaurant in the area. So, what options do you have when you want Jamaican

Wow. I am obsessed with this food. I've always wanted to try Jamaican food but just never seen to…read morefind one around where I am. The truck was parked inside the NIH campus where I work for Tuesday food truck day and my friend told me about this! I quickly look up the facebook page and any yelp reviews available and both were amazing reviews so I was really excited to try it. I got the oxtail platter which came which about 5 oxtail pieces, dirty rice, cabbage, and 2 large slices of fried plantains. Ohmygosh it was so delicious! The oxtails were tender and fall off the bone kind! The rice was flavorful but not overpowering and the cabbage was just right and complemented the whole meal. The plantain wasn't too sweet which I think needed to be a little more sweet but I was happy either way! The other entrees looked yummy as well but you know I had to try the oxtail! It was a huge portion for $14 and I'm really glad I ordered the oxtail platter. Hopefully they come back again at work and I need to try out the jerk chicken and other items on the menu. The staff were polite and the line for this truck was long in a matter of 5 mins! Must try!

Authentically flavored Jamaican fare on a food truck? Really?!…read more YES really!!! I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The jerk chicken plate was superb. I didn't have to add the jerk sauce included with my order as the flavor was spot on. Spice level was just right...I appreciate the fact that the heat wasn't 'dumbed down' to appease those with a delicate palate.
