I love Iron Brush for walk in piercings, it's quick and simple. The piercers are nice, efficient, and quick to answer any questions. The vibe of the place is like sailor pirate with a sprinkle in of goth fairies and what I would consider the "really cool aunts" of the world. For tattoos I know many who love Iron Brush. This is the ONLY piercing place you should go to in the entire state of Nebraska, or country, honestly. Their stuff is wonderful and cares a lot about you as a customer. When I've had piercings done by other places (while I was on vacation) that went horribly, they were able to fix everything. I've had probably half my piercings done by them and they've all healed perfectly. The staff is more kind than any other piercing places - especially in Omaha. I trusted her immediately, especially after telling her this would be my first. We discussed three different ideas I had, and she ended up combining them beautifully. I had expected the pain; what I hadn't expected was the kindness, the sage advice (have food in your belly and drink a lot of water before you get your tat; what to expect immediately after and a few days after, etc.). I was helped fast but a return time for a tattoo didn't work so I returned two days later for a scheduled appointment. My artist, Dakk, was very nice and helpful. This was my first tattoo and I was put at ease with Dakk and the cleanliness of the place and everyone working there. The more tattoos I have gotten the more I have realized how absolutely horrid this shop is. Came in right at open on the dot for a walk in and was 2nd in line. We waited four hours for a walk in. Yes, four. Being second in line. Coming at open. My tint tattoo was a one single simple word. The artist pressed incredibly hard to the point that the ink spread and the line quality looked awful. Oh and my one little word ran me $110. I don't understand why this shop is so popular in Lincoln. Go to a smaller shop with better artists. Go anywhere else. This is not the place. If I could give lower, I 100% would. Every time I go in I'm disappointed and pissed off. While the cleanliness and piercers are fantastic. I have yet to meet a tattoo artist not stuck entirely up his own asshole. One made my friend CRY and completely trashed the tattoo she wanted. They all refuse to take into account what the CUSTOMER WANTS. Of course there are stipulations to every tattoo however the pure rudeness that every single tattoo artist i have encountered there is ridiculous. This was they're last chance to have me as a customer and NEVER AGAIN. They want to tattoo what they want to tattoo and do not care about what the customer wants. I'll start by saying that I live in Omaha now, but will always make the drive to Lincoln in order to come here. Iron brush has been my go-to shop for the past few years. My sister and I did a lot of research before getting our tattoos as this was her first. Literally, these are the nicest people and they know their *stuff too. Our tattooist gave us his opinion on how to style our script tattoos and it came out looking great! We ended up with a more customized and less generic looking script, which makes it more special. I've been back several times for piercings as well. Ethan wasn't the original piercer for my rook but took the time to fix the mistake the OG piecer, from a different city, made. My piercing had started to heal over the jewelry as the post was way too small. Ethan knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. He then helped extract/replace the jewelry to the correct size and since then it has healed perfectly. Ethan has helped me transition into hoops for my nose ring too. He takes his time in helping me and his opinions on which style of jewelry is best for me are spot on. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with this place. Walking in, I'm always greeted whether or not I'm there for a tattoo or just help with a piercing. A major thing to note about Iron Brush is that besides the people, the shop itself is very welcoming; I feel comfortable walking in there by myself, which I can't say about other shops. Iron Brush Tattoo is certainly one business in Lincoln that goes beyond expectation and does not disappoint. I called very last minute one evening just to see what was open and got in the next night with a consultation. The artist I met with said he wasn't 100% comfortable with drawing my complex design on my body, and I GREATLY appreciated their honesty! Instead, with some stroke of profound luck, I got in with Tyson (who owns the shop and his portfolio is amazing -- check it out on their website) the next day because he had a cancellation, which to be fair, he is so good that he usually books out months in advance. I'm still in shock how I was that lucky. In summary, even though I wasn't expecting the whole process to get done that quick, Iron Brush made my experience with them a top priority and every single person I interacted with there was so amiable, kind, and fun to talk to. I love this shop. I got my nose pierced here and just got my first tattoo there today. Everyone who works there I've interacted with is really polite. The artists are talented. The artist who did my tattoo (Ann) was so sweet and did a really good job and I really like that she made suggestions to make the idea I had better . It does help to keep in my they only take cash but there is an ATM in the shop. Their prices are high (my Tattoo was $70 and my nose piercing was $45) but in my opinion it's honestly worth it . He made sure my son was comfortable and understood all parts of his tattoo. He is very excited about his tattoo. I got a memorial tattoo for my dad. I ended up in tears just thinking about my dad and how much my tattoo means to me. Kevin was very compassionate. He asked if I needed a minute. That meant so much to me. While in Nebraska for a visit, I popped in for a tragus piercing and it was, as always, a perfect experience. Got my nose pierced by Tony, he was so nice and made me feel comfortable with everything. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I came in so excited for my doubles lobe piercings! My piercer (I forgot his name) was extremely friendly and talked me through the process. However, it's been over a year since I got them done, and they are still not healed. I followed the proper care routine as instructed in the shop to a tee. My piercings are always tender, visibly irritated and red, and this is how they've been ever since I got them pierced in the first place. My $20 piercings from Claire's 10+ years ago healed quicker and without complication compared to the $80 ones I got here. I'm not sure if it's the metal they used or sanitation issues, but it's been a very disappointing experience. I even had to take one out and let it close. Will get it re-pierced in the future at a different shop. read more

I came here to get my first tattoo today after wanting one for awhile, I finally got the guts to do it. I drove in from Grand Island and came in for a walk-in. We waited about 2 hours but we came to sign in and then went to the mall, so it definitely went by quickly. All of the staff was absolutely wonderful and you can tell they all love what they do. Tony was my artist and he took what I wanted and ran with it. He did an amazing job and made my idea more beautiful than I ever could imagined myself. My wife went in to get a simple hand drawn tattoo done. The artist originally argued with the style wanting to add his own flair to the piece (it was hand drawn stick figure by her friend, no changes needed). The artist then pressed the needle hard into her wrist and also her friend's wrist, they both said it felt vindictive in nature because they wanted their own drawings. The tattoo itself was sloppily done and color was out of the lines... it seems that would be simple not to do.. My wife complained on Facebook to have the post deleted then they said they would fix it the next time she was in town. She came in almost 2 years later as we were passing through the town. She got the same artist with the same harsh treatment... and he rushed the fixes and messed up the writing... honestly I would have a talk with Brian about how he treats customers, or take him off of the walk in list... She has a full back piece (neck to butt), and a piece on her ribs, she knows how getting a tattoo should feel. She is still in pain almost a week later. Unacceptable from the most recommended place in town, the artist does good work.. apparently only in his style. read more

The inspiration photo I took in and the tattoo I got were different. Inspiration tattoo looked like shit compared to what Derek gave me. He did a lot of detail an extras on a simple concept because I sat well despite it being on my foot and because his skills surpassed what I originally had in mind and now I'm so pleased. I went in as a walk in with a few friends to get piercings and actually fainted at the counter afterwords. Tony was kind and caught me on my way down and someone went and bought me a soda. Extremely disappointed with the service I received at iron brush. I went for a consultation and explained exactly what I wanted. I was told yes, and was given a price. We scheduled my appointments and I paid a deposit to save the slots. My first issue is....my artist and I decided on dot shading, and then she shaded my tattoo with regular shading. My second issue is...she told me it would take two sessions to complete my tattoo and that it would be $370. She ended up not completing the tattoo in two sessions and had me schedule a third session. The way she described the situation was that the third session would be charge free since she underestimated how long it would take her to complete it. I was then charged $260 extra dollars for the third session, so the tattoo I was told would cost $370 ended up being $630. And on top of that my tattoo was never featured on either her or the iron brush website. I heard many bad things about iron brush but decided to go anyway because I loved my artists work, my tattoo is beautiful but it was not what I wanted and it was far more expensive than I was anticipating. I went to the shop today for a walk-in tattoo. This is my first one and had been looking forward to it. I had my eye on one for a long time and brought in the picture. Keith was my artist. Keith came and asked me what the tattoo meant and after I told him, he just said ummm ok. He said ok let me draw it up there is one thing I will have to change because it would look like a glob if it's not bigger. Ok, I understand. So it took him about 8 min to draw it up. He came back and it looked nothing like what I had shown him. My sister who is a graphic designer tried to explain what I wanted to him. Then Keith just left. So she drew on his paper what we more wanted it to look like. After about 5 minutes he came back and said so we ready? I said no. My sister showed him again what I wanted now on paper. Keith said well that's pretty shitty you just drew on my drawing. My sister apologized. We were not told any instructions of anything and he just walked away from us before this. Keith didn't ever want to see what I envisioned. And let me tell you this was a pretty basic tattoo. He just sat there in total silence for about a good two minutes. I said so I take it you are not feeling it. He said no. Keith then for the second time said how about You have Anna do it because now if I have to redraw it will take me 25 minutes. The way we were treated by Keith is something I have never experienced. One of my top most awkward moments in my life. The whole process was horrible. We decided to decline any services. He is rude and just because it was a basic white girl tattoo, shouldn't make you put down that person who is a paying customer. This is a tattoo that will mean something to me. My second tattoo was done from Brian, who was unpleasant to work with as he criticized my tattoo choice and WOULD NOT LET IT GO, seemed annoyed at having to reposition the stencil to my liking (only 3 times), and seemed to overcharge me. This tattoo was the same size as my first one, which only cost $75, and Brian charged me $100. I would definitely go back, but I would choose a different artist.
