A dimly lit little place, that is clean. I arrived at 12:30 on a Monday, so waiting was not an issue and my food came out really fast and hot. The service was not overly welcoming... but ehh... but I was there to try the food. That will be the bulk of this review. I ordered the fried pork wantons and hunan beef with fried rice ( Somewhere in the neighborhood of $17 - $18 dollars). To begin, the wantons were just ok. I have made fried wontons, however I like mine with scallions and and maybe bean sprouts, etc. These wantons were just meat...? Like I said, just okay... maybe a bit greasy, because they didn't let them drain onto a paper towel or they didn't shake the grease off coming out of the oil... eh... The hunan beef also was just okay. A bit saucy and sweet. Probably straight out of the jar? The fried rice that accompanied the beef... (SMH...) I like my fried rice again with scallions, egg and I do like it to be brown... but that is arguable to those who do not like soy sauce in their fried rice.. Anyway... it too was just ok...eh.. I gave 1 stars because I do believe that they are trying their best and the staff was very kind, however after years of waitressing I observed more than a few health code issues while there to pick up my to go order. Just because people are trying to take over a once great restaurant doesn't mean mean the new food is going to be edible. This restaurant used to be fabulous, and then the previous owner sold it, the new owners and cooks are in way over there heads. I had a to go order for 3 dinner menu items and soup which the total dollar amount should have been $74.75 according to there website and Google prices but they charged us $90.85, saying they have had to raise prices and they refused to honor there own website prices. I paid it and left a tip because the staff was very kind and it was not there fault the new owner raised prices but didn't write it anywhere. (While inside the wait staff was eating and serving tables without washing hands, as well as the cashier took my card and was handling drinks without washing his hands.) When I got the food home (8 min. away). I discovered the even though the to go boxes were in another box it had leaked (grease and sause) all over my seat and even on my clothes just by carrying it. Once we got it home we opened the boxes and most of the food was cold and the rest was Luke warm. The one thing that was hot was the soup which didn't have the lid properly attached but I had failed to notice with all the boxes leaking. All the food tasted the same and after asking more questions I found out why.... They make everything from a single universal deep fryer or a flat top grill. Meaning all the food mingles (major health code violations) So there is no way possible to get actual vegetarian, vegan or any single meat preference or guarantee that there is no cross contamination. Meaning that if you have any sort of food allergy or religious preferences they will do there best but as I said earlier sometimes "their best" does not make it even edible. To cut to the end we threw away some of everything we ordered, way more than half (and we even offered it to friends and they wouldn't even take it. We literally couldn't give this food, that cost us nearly $100, away. Please support our local business and community other ways. read more

I love Moscow, ID, but I would never have expected to find authentic, high-quality, delicious Sichuan dishes in this tiny, relatively remote city. I can't comment on the Korean or Vietnamese offerings here. But the Sichuan dishes that I had were extremely good and up there with any I've had in the country. The sour fish and vegetables dish was excellent: flavorful, tangy, perfect heat from the dried chiles, and the welcome numbing, floral surprise of the Sichuan peppercorns. The garlic pork was also great: the sauce was thinner than I expected it to be, but it was very flavorful and suited the dish well. The pot stickers were generic but tasty and well prepared. As a reviewer said a few months ago about this location, is that it does not look good from the outside. However, unlike that reviewer I was not impressed with the inside of the restaurant. The place had drop ceilings, did not look very aesthetically pleasing at all, and it was very very cold inside. So, if you plan on eating here during cold months make sure that you are dressed for the cold. This restaurant is right next to a rowdy bar. So, if you still want to visit Iron Wok, then I would recommend doing so in earlier hours, before there is a crowd at the bar. But I would recommend finding a different place to eat, the food here did not taste as good as other places that you can find in Moscow or in Pullman. This is the only "real" Chinese food in Moscow, Idaho. The owner used to be the owner of another Chinese restaurant in Pullman. They do provide American-Chinese food as other oriental restaurant, and the tastes are much better than others.The chief cooks Guangdong style Chinese food. It is the only place you can order "stir fried beef rice noodle", which is my comfort food. "Stirring fried lamb with green onion", "beef pot", "eggplant pot" are all great. Taro rib makes me miss home because it is not easy to find that beautiful taro aroma in American restaurant. The building is not attractive and there are lots of potential. First visit to this restaurant since it's been under new management. We really enjoyed our meals. We had Green Bean Chicken, Prawns with Vegetables and good old-fashioned Almond Chicken. All ingredients were quality and very fresh. The chicken in both dishes was quality breast meat; the prawns were fresh and of good size. Servings were generous and each dish came with steamed rice. My husband orders chicken with green beans at Asian restaurants as his go-to dish. He felt these were among the very best he's had anywhere.
