Desert Springs Dental & Dr Shandy Condie name was highly recommended by several of them. I scheduled my initial exam (pretty easy to schedule in a timely manner) and had full mouth xrays and a dental cleaning - and Dr Condie dud the cleaning! Had a quick consult with the doc and was scheduled for the crown the next week. They make the crown there in house so there isn't any temporary to bother with or return appointments. They told me most of the appointment would be hanging out waiting for them to size it, make it and adjust it. Once it was on they warned me that it could be sensitive for a few weeks. The doc also noticed that one of my top teeth was chomping down on the crown so he filed it for me so there wouldn't be any complications. No extra charge. I left with my crown in tact expecting to have sensitivity for a few days but I had absolute none. I slapped some ice cream right on it that night! Crown fits perfectly. I have had a zero issues. During my second visit, I thought that my other tooth had a cavity, yet Dr. Mullenaux examined the tooth and determined that it was just a stain that needed no filling. Additionally, both times I felt grateful for the fact that everyone in the office was very respectful about my choice to decline preventative care (as a general rule, I go to a doctor only when there is a problem, and good nutrition is the only type of preventative care that I ever employ). Being a healthcare professional myself, and working in healthcare, I know how hard it is to find a doctor who is skilled, honest, and respectful of patients' choices. I highly recommend Dr. Mullenaux.

I have neglected seeing a dentist for quite some time because I have an awful fear of pain due to…read moreextreme cold sensitivity. I had a favorite practice I went to in Illinois and I would travel there for my care until the practice was finally closed due the practice relocating out of state. I tried a different practice in Gilbert over a year ago and had an awful experience. I was talking with someone about my dilemma and she highly recommended Serenity Dental - so I ripped off the band-aid and gave them a call. Whenever I would call any other practice I was always told my asks were not feasible. My ask was: Warm or room temp water rather than cold, 4 shots of novacaine, the use of the Synapse Dental Eraser (and nobody has this tool - but it is truly miraculous at blocking out pain). In the absence of the dental eraser my ask was to add Nitrous (laughing gas) in addition to the warm water & novacaine. I was told they don't typically warm water ahead of time but they would do so for me and I was also told that the novacaine & nitrous was totally doable. I went in for my initial visit and got my teeth cleaned, x-rays, etc. Everyone in the practice was so very kind to me. They really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at ease. The dentist even said he would provide me a prescription to obtain the dental eraser so that it can be used when needed at an appointment. I need to go back to take care of 2 cavities & have a crown. This is the first time in a long time that the idea of going back isn't giving me awful anxiety. Jess was the one that did the teeth cleaning for me and she is just a sweetheart. I also got to see Dr. Bhatt to discuss the needed care. He was super kind and really assured me that I came to the right place. So if anyone suffers from severe anxiety like me over dental visits - I would strongly encourage you to give this practice a try. This practice is truly the best - and I already love them more than the other practice I went to back in Illinois for over 25 years. I cannot thank this practice enough for taking such good care of me!
