The front desk staff was really friendly from scheduling my appointment to checking me in. Sometimes medical receptionists aren't the friendliest, hey I get it it, must be a hectic job, but that is not the case here! My hygienist was friendly and made me feel comfortable. They used this fancy water pressure thing to clean my teeth and get under the gums a bit instead of sitting there scrapping the whole time. This is a step up from the old way of doing things. After Dr Henderson gave her opinion on what to do about my teeth issue, well technically gum issue, Dr Temple came in to consult as well. He was a really friendly guy and was up front and honest with what his opinion was about how to proceed. More of a we will keep an eye on it than run to the specialist right now and drop $3,000 (literally) on the procedure. They were also clear with me about an antibiotic they could use not being covered by insurance and if I still wanted to do it. Knowing I had the option instead of just getting the bill in the mail is always appreciated. Note: When you walk in the building they share a space with another dentist, go to the left not the right!

So after I met Dr Katelyn socially, my husband and I moved our dental care to her. He particularly liked how in the first-time-patient visit, she did the whole exam rather than leave it all to the dental assistant, and explained what she was doing throughout. I was glad too that she used an ultrasonic cleaner to do what is in my experience done with a metal pick and scraper. It made for a very gentle exam. Dr. Mitchell has always taken care to precisely complete her work and now that she's moved on, the other doctors provide a the same level of excellent service. Dr Bartlett only recommended what was needed to achieve those goals, which was one phase of treatment. We were never pressured to get more services than what was needed. My daughter is now a 12th grader and we are returning to Dr Bartlett to have her retainer replaced after 8 years of wear. The price is less than the quote received from her regular dentist for a replacement retainer. It's important for me to be able to trust that recommendations are based on what is actually needed and not on revenue. I have made several different appointments with Von Dohlens dental office. Each time, Von Dohlens dentist office has cancelled my appointments without letting me know. They took it upon themselves to cancel my childrens appointments and my appointments and did not have the common courtesy to call to say that they had to cancel because they were overbooked, or whatever reason they had. THIS WAS NOT 1 TIME, BUT 3-4 SEPERATE APPOINTMENT DATES within a 1 year period...... I have called to confirm times and went in for these specific appointments, only to be told that they were cancelled or that the appointment was never made....I did have the appointment card with the date and time that they gave to me, the day it was made and I provided them that information, and they only said that "no one put the appointment in, I am sorry, we don't have anything available". On the other occasions, I called the day of the appointment to confirm the time, considering they are consistantly messing up, and I was told both seperate times that the appointment was cancelled.......(????) The dental assistant Kristie, kept making excuses, each time, as to why the appointments were cancelled and continued to try to find a reason to blame it on me because THEY had cancelled the appointments. This is a very unprofessional dental office and I would not recommend anyone go to a place that can not run their business professionally and accurately. They definately do not try to make things right either, as each time they cancelled my appointments, they were unable to get me and my children in....... Needless to say, my family and I will not return to Von Dohlen dental office. I have never seen, much less been to a business that is this unprofessional and so unorganized as Von Dohlens office/staff. When an appointment is made, one would expect to be able to get into the office without troubles, but this is not the case with this office......I can not stress enough how unorganized and unprofessional this place is.......As stated above, not only one time was there "mess-ups", this happened 3-4 times, which was EVERYTIME I had an appointment scheduled. Even though I will be having a wisdom tooth extracted I love this place that much! You know that is saying something about coming to the dentist! Everyone here from Doctor Dowlen to all of the Assistance to Misty at the front to her Assistance, Sylvia and Martise is so kind, friendly and helpful! In fact, I will be transferring my dental care to Smith Crossing dental care! The office is new and bright and beautiful! There are lots of comfy chairs in the lobby and they always have lively music playing. They also have a refrigerator with bottles of water for the patients. The procedure rooms are nice clean and open with large ceiling to floor windows in each. There is also very compassionate care here. Dr. Dowlen always listens and make sure she understands everything and explains everything very well to me which I love. Well I've had the procedure and everything went smoothly! Good job team!
