The staff was super friendly and made our visit even more enjoyable. We purchased a few bars, cookies, hand pies and some scones. The prices were very reasonable. Every item was super fresh and extremely tasty. The cream filling in the pies was super creamy and rich. The filled cookies were amazing and I wished that I had more. The bars were irresistible and loaded with fresh fruits.

The cakes usually sold include cherry, Madeira, sultana, banana, lemon, carrot, ginger, plus border tarts; there are mainly kinds of scones fruit, cheese, treacle and soda for example. For bread there's wholemeal, granary, white, 'Moffat Tasty' to name but a few! There's a large range of handmade biscuits and muffins as well, including shortbread and parkins. We spoke to the baker and he told us it was all part of the same business, the bakers and the cheese shop and the bakery had outgrown the building and was soon to be moving a mile or two up the road. Anyhow, we walked through the front door and were amazed at the wonderful display of freshly baked breads available to buy. From super open textured, crunchy baguettes to heavy sourdough and super soft farmhouse loaves, stilton and walnut bread, oily foccaccia and on and on. There was also a small selection of sweets such as really nutty brownies, pain au chocolat and danish. Everything looked so good, it took us forever to narrow down our choices. We ended up buying four loaves of bread and two cakes. All were beautiful and very tasty which is a big lack in most of today's crappy supermarket breads which people have become accustomed. My favourite was the baguette, it really was out of this world. The breads were a little pricey but WELL worth it. And the place is definetly worth a visit!

All this at just the beginning of the day. Noa has got a super chilled out vibe and wouldn't be out of place in either Manchester's NQ or London's Shoreditch with its laid back staff and mismatched furniture. The clientele is much more varied however, with young hipster types, families with kids and 30 something young professionals all happily rubbing shoulders. Like the best coffee shops in the NQ and Shoreditch, Noa takes their coffee seriously and every time I've been in there my favoured cappuccino has been excellent with even my husband, notoriously picky about the standard of his flat whites, leaving more than happy. Food wise Noa offer a selection of tasty looking cakes as well as a short daily changing savoury menu with things such as soup, salad and sandwiches on it, all of which offer variety a bit different from your bog standard cheese and ham sarnie etc. Last time we were in I had the 'Bugsy' salad, which although was extremely virtuous being full of veggies, seeds and houmous, was fresh and really tasty. My only negative is that I found it a bit pricey at around the £6 mark when it was pre-prepped in the fridge and presented in a plastic cup, more like a takeaway option. Call me fickle but I'd have been more than happy to have paid this if it had been presented on a proper plate and even better if they'd added on a chunk of their lovely bread (Note, the photo I added of it was after I grabbed a plate and pinched a couple of pieces of my husband's bread!) Speaking of which, don't forget to pick up a loaf or two of their fantastic in-house baked sourdough if you're visiting. My favourite sandwich has to be the cheese and onion, but I also really like the fresh salad ones aswell. The bread is always really fresh and everything is made on the premises. The prices are incredibly reasonable and can start at around 70p for their basic sandwich. This is brilliant as they are a lot fresher and nicer than pre pack sandwiches you can get in other shops. They are also renowned for their pies and can sell out quite quickly. The shop is quite small and there is loads of parking out the front. The staff are really friendly and know everyone as they have worked here for years.

But they also excel is pastrys and pies, cakes and bakes. The smell is lovely, and you can't walk past without going in and buying something. The window displays always have pretty cakes on display. Proces are reasonable - definately worth it for the quality.
