Decent burger shack in the Malibu area. I visited this casual eats spot around 1pm on a Saturday and it was decently busy. They are located in a shopping area, so there's a parking lot, but it can get pretty busy. You order outside through the window and the staff will call you to pickup your meal on the intercom. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The have an outdoor seating area as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Irv's Original Roadside Double and it was a good, standard burger. The burger was pretty hefty, juicy, and meaty. It had a savory and charred flavor. The buns were also soft and pillowy. The fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. They weren't too salty nor too plain which I liked. Overall, a solid combo. However, I would pay $15 rather than $20 for this since it just seemed like a standard burger combo, nothing extraordinary to justify the higher price. Overall, a decent experience here. I wouldn't go out of my way to get a burger from here again and would opt for something cheaper like In-N-Out. However, the burger wasn't bad and I would eat it again if someone gave it to me.

My sister's in town, so we rolled up to Malibu and stumbled into IRv's -- and let me tell you, it was exactly what I didn't know I needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off, the setup is adorable. Walking up to the front window gave me major boardwalk vibes -- like Wildwood, New Jersey, or the county fair -- but elevated. Clean, cute, and just... charming as hell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a protein-style burger (because bread and I are taking a break), and it was genuinely good. Juicy, satisfying, no drama. But what really made the experience? The people. Vicky was an absolute gem -- warm, welcoming, just effortlessly kind. The guy working with her was also amazing, and I feel like a jerk for not getting his name because he was just as lovely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside with the sea breeze rolling in, eating our food like life was simple and good -- because in that moment, it honestly was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] IRv's gave big "this is why we live in California" energy. Highly recommend if you want chill vibes, great service, and a side of sunshine with your burger.

This is the best burger I've had in a really long time. I feel as though a lot of places try to do one too many things when it comes to a burger and end up taking away from what makes a burger great rather than adding to it, this place does no such thing. Solid burger, great quality and off the charts flavor. The service was great, everything we asked for (extra pickle, adding bacon) was given, no mistakes nor complaints. Vicky/Vickie aka 'Grill Daddy' did her big one with these burgers. Oh so good and will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

This is by far one of the best fast food experiences I've had, my server Viki was attentive kind and full of joy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the ambiance of this location, the open kitchen you can see all the cooks on the line laboring love into the meals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a turkey burger with a side of tater tots and ranch dressing. Everything was fresh and made with love. Will be returning for that Oreo milkshake and chili cheese fries.

roadside burger was sooo yummy. tater tots amazing. oreo milkshake was soooo good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]ate this on the beach in malibu and it hit so hard[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It's just the size and presentation is nothing like the picture. I guess my expectations for a $13 tuna meal melt were different.

I order a vanilla shake and a tuna melt. The tuna melt was disappointing. The vanilla shake was good

The fries are FIRE!! Get ketchup, or Ranch. Hell, get both!

We brought our puppy so got to sit outside at a shared table. That was a nice setting and people are friendly. I had a taster of beer and tried to get some of their more award-winning brews. I would say there was nothing substantially great or substantially bad about them, kind of run-of-the-mill beers. For food, we got the Southwest salad, which I would say was big enough to serve the entire shared table of about six people. We also got the seared Ahi tuna sandwich, which I would say was delicious but I suspect it may have been the culprit of about three days of stomach issues. I also had the sweet potato fries with a couple of different dipping sauces. So either the tuna or the dipping sauces definitely carried some bacteria that caused issues for a couple of days. I sincerely hope it wasn't the ahi tuna sandwich because it was tasty. Overall, I have some mixed emotions on this place, but it was pretty good so I am willing to give it another chance.

The view of the ocean is nice, the breeze is cooling, and there's no yucky fishy smell you might think you'd smell at the pier. My boyfriend and I got there and she told us to wait for a table to open up then she would seat us; however, we looked and saw multiple tables open and she even sat another party who came after us. We had to ask another server if we could be seated and they seated us shortly after. Vibes: you sit pretty close to other parties and there are a lot of tables in the area. Volume level is fairly loud because of all the people, but it's not an overwhelming loud. Gets busy around brunch/lunch time. On the cuff of being a nicer place to eat in terms of vibes, but because it is near the beach it does feel more chill. Food: I had the build your own fish taco and the Swedish mini pancakes. For the price that I paid, neither was worth it. The fish was kind of dry and flavorless and the best thing about that dish were the veggies. The mini pancakes got mushy quick, so these definitely should be eaten sooner rather than later. The syrup and fruits atop the pancakes were extremely sweet and the dish overall left my stomach feeling heavy. Unfortunately this place is an overpriced tourist trap.

Came at around 2 pm on a weekday so was luckily able to find a parking spot and there was no line to order. If it's busy, good luck. Food was delicious and priced well. Shrimp basket - 10/10 Shrimp were fried perfectly to be honest. Got 6 shrimp over french fries (the fries were also great, thicker pieces that were fried perfectly). Tartar sauce was great, the cocktail sauce as well (and I don't normally like cocktail sauce). Filled me up great. Small clam chowder - 7/10 Pretty solid clam chowder. I probably wouldn't get it again, but the first few spoonfuls were great and very enjoyable. Some of the clam towards the bottom was more chewy which wasn't ideal. Got a bread roll as well and it came with oyster crackers. Spent roughly $30 total, around $20 on the shrimp basket and another $6-7 on the clam chowder. Would 100% come here again, highly recommend if you're in the area looking for some tasty seafood.

We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.
