I felt at home since the beginning, which has done a lot to reduce any anxiety I had been having over the work to be done. The office is also technologically up to date with digital xrays, as an example. The doctor seems very savvy and knowledgeable, and is willing to offer good care suggestions and answer all my questions. If you are looking for a new dentist, call Dr. Roger Paul's office for an appointment. Also, there is good parking near the door, which I need. But the staff from the moment I walked in, to the day I got my teeth pulled, were absolutely amazing. Courteous and friendly, informative, and fairly attentive. I needed 3 wisdom teeth and two busted ones removed, and they helped me figure out cost options (to which we settled on the Care Credit with NO interest for 18 months). Maria, who helped us with the cost options even stayed 30 minutes after close to help us find a reasonable payment plan. And it worked! She was EXTREMELY friendly. Today I had the teeth taken out. They showed the utmost care for my well being during the process, helped me relax, and explained everything about the after care. Dr. Thevenin was pleasant, warm, welcoming, and funny. 100% WOULD recommend seeing him. The Dental Assistant Shanice was wonderful. She greeted us every time she saw us even if she wasn't directly helping us at the time. Her calm and up beat demeanor was probably what helped me stay calm during the procedures. Thank you Shanice! The attendants at the front desk were friendly and the X-ray technician was personable and welcoming. However, that all went downhill. The dentist or his assistant did not introduce themselves. The assistant seemed to be reciting memorized lines, like "brush your teeth twice a day, after meals. Be sure to floss and use mouth wash." The dentist looked at my teeth real quick and told his assistant, "no cavities". Then, the cleaning started. The assistant told me that there would be "water going into my mouth and suction". During the cleaning, water and plaque and whatever else is in a person's mouth was splayed all over my face...during the entire cleaning. Never once was there an attempt to wipe my face or a "sorry". It was disgusting and rude. The dentist was very rough while cleaning my teeth, painfully rough, and quick, like he was trying to race to finish. He left immediately after he felt the cleaning was complete, without a word. The assistant tried to schedule me an appointment, but I declined and she told me that corporate would probably make an appointment for me and send me a message and that I could cancel it. The dentist never said anything to me until after the visit was finished, he popped his head in real quick to say a very speedy "thank you". I have been to several dentists within my lifetime and have gone through many, many routine cleanings and check-ups. This was not normal. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I can see why some people are afraid to go to the dentist with occurrences like this happening. I gave two stars only because the girls at the check-in desk and the X-ray technician were wonderful to interact with, the main point of going to a dentist, the dentist, was terrible though.
