I experienced two shows there, one in the main big club(The Unguided show)and one in the smaller club(Free & Easy festival) which is right next to it. Both venues have pretty good acoustic and overall sound felt nice! Had a good time there!

This place has multiple bars/clubs/music venues. On a weekend, one can easily go there and hop around the area for different types of music (electronic, reggae, hip hop...you name it, they will most likely have it). If you get the munchies after a long night out, no worries, there is a food stand conveniently situated there to satisfy your cravings. But I am giving 4 stars for its rock music venue (Halle). I like the size of the venue, not too big but wide enough to move around the crowd. The acoustics of the place was decent when I went (it was an indie rock concert). Prices for beers are average-priced, but they sell the local Munich craft beer (Crew Republic), which gets bonus points from me. Whether it's a concert or a dance party, it's worth the trek to go to Backstage. (Ok, it's not too much of a trek as it's still within Munich city perimeters...but I'm lazy to travel more than 20 minutes to go out.)

We went for "soda" - rhubarb fizzy water - yum! We also went when the 10 layer cake was rolled out - so that was cool! Definitely very sweet staff. Easy seating in the afternoon. It's off the main drag, but on one of side roads. Definitely stop in - get a pancake crumbly thingy that i can't remember the name of! Indicate you are an english speaker early on if you are - just so you don't spent alot of time just nodding! Less stressful on the paying front that other tents, and they are more willing to split the bill!

There is a stage in the middle that is raised up high and the bar beneath. Table surround it stadium style. They don't serve beer here so wine and mixed drinks it is!! And food. Lots of food. So came on the closing day of Oktoberfest and it was a blast. The evening reservation and everything. The band was hopping and the crowd was eating it up. The food is what you would expect. The service was on point and keep the drinks flowing. It was a little warm... But that is to be expected. Just go with the flow... Fun place and less rowdy than the other tents...

And the floor is angled higher towards the back, so the tall-person-syndrome (where a tall person stands in front of you and blocks your view to the stage...) is a lesser problem. However, even with the tilt, this venue is unusually narrow and long. In the far back where the bar stands, one wouldn't be able to see the performers. Imagine...you find a good spot within a packed crowd to stand to see the performers, squeeze your long way through the little crevices among people to get to the bar, wait long to get your drink, and then squeeze your way back AND manage to not spill your drink on someone. It is some test of wills. It might have been an isolated experience for me, but the crowd was slightly aggravating (probably because of the restricted space). I heard people arguing with one another, and some man pushed my arm away when I was trying to take a photo. If you are to catch a specific band and want a less frustrating experience, then go early. For a short person like me, there are areas to stand by the sides of the venue where one can stand higher.

The acoustic is not the best but you always see well as the grounds go down from the bar on top to the stage. The staff is nice and the drinks are affordable. Would recommend looking at their program from time to time as they have some gems sometimes.
