There is no painfully regurgitated "dialogue," and no ridiculous and extreme conditions that cater to the egotist. Don't get me wrong--the room is hot and humid, but you sweat because she makes you work hard, not because you feel faint due to a heat index of 150. Mary Ann knows all the modifications for those who have any ailments, and how to push those who master the basics. You can take a break if you are having an off day without absurd repercussions or belittling. Unfortunately, I can only make it once or twice a week now since I moved away--but the high quality instruction and proper conditions make it worth the trip. Definitely try the place, especially now with the brand new accommodations--always clean and never smelly. Easy parking eliminates yet another headache. Go in prepared to listen and learn, and you will be amazed at how much you didn't know!

Despite being in the college hub, I don't think URI kids make up the majority of the students at Bend. I will make the journey to South County for Nicole Defelice & Isabella Sanderson, two instructors who teach regularly at Bend. Both primarily teach power vinyasa. Both play excellent music in the studio when they're teaching. Both are so joyful, challenging, & fun. Both are 2 of the best yoga instructors I've ever had the pleasure of practicing with. Nicole is a biologist & frequently weaves animal themes into her classes. She knows exactly how to explain micro-adjustments & motions that make the practice more accessible & enjoyable. I've unlocked advanced poses & maintained difficult arm balances thanks to Nicole's instructions. Isabella might be a sadist, but I say that in the most complimentary way possible. Her classes can be incredibly grueling, but if you stick with it, your endurance, strength, flexibility, & balance will improve immensely. Both Nicole & Isabella are the kinds of instructors you hope you're lucky enough to come across once in your lifetime. Somehow, Bend has secured them both. They're precious cargo. They also probably deserve a raise. Thank you, Nicole & Isabella, for nurturing my practice for years now. I never would've become the yogi I am now without the two of you. I researched YTT for 3 years comparing three week residential programs, monthly programs, and…read morelocations across the country. Each year, Jane sent me her dates when I inquired, and finally in 2019, the stars aligned and I enrolled. While I wanted a challenging program, power vinyasa yoga was something I figured I'd "get through" in the training and then leave behind in future teaching. However, the way Jane teaches, I fell head over heals the first vinyasa class, which for YTT was 2 hours long! Sure, I was physically exhausted however I was also energized from the way Jane made a power yoga class of 2 hours accessible to everyone in the room at all fitness levels! Wow! The Believe You Can YTT has been beyond what I might have hoped for in a YTT program. Jane is authentic and not in this "for the money." She's the most open, honest, true human who practices what she preaches. Jane is supportive throughout training and brings out the best in every student! Nikki, Jane's assistant teacher, is a positive beacon of light shining alongside Jane! Together they're a dynamic duo of positivity and light!
