It's a very nice visitor center with tons of souvenirs. The center wasn't that big, but organized and clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Tons of people looking around and shopping. They have lots of goodies and souvenirs. Restrooms are outside... they have actual little potty stands in a building. So do drop on by and check them out when you're at Canyonlands NPS. If you get a chance, definitely paddle the river. It's a whole new perspective down there!!

Dead Horse Point State Park is absolutely stunning--and pet friendly! The overlooks alone are worth…read morethe stop, but there are also several trails to choose from. We hiked the East Rim Trail, which connects to the West Rim Trail, for a total of about 3.9 miles. I'd rate it as easy to moderate: mostly flat with a few sections of light climbing. The views throughout the hike are breathtaking, and when we went, it wasn't crowded at all. Keep in mind that the park is very hot with almost no shade, so bring plenty of water. If you're traveling with a dog, be mindful of the ground temperature to avoid burning their paw pads. The visitor center itself isn't pet-friendly, but the bathrooms are located outside and accessible. My only complaint is that the trail markers could be clearer--since some trails overlap, it can get confusing. Entry is $20 per vehicle, paid at the gate. We spent about 2.5 hours exploring, though you could easily stay longer if you want to sit, relax, and take in the scenery. Overall, this is a must-visit stop in Moab.

What a great time. We had never been to Moab and we were looking for tour. We found out about it…read moreat our hotel. We made a reservation and Marcus was very flexible with times. He picked us up at the hotel on time. After filling out some simple paperwork we were on our way. We traveled to places and saw sights that we would have never even fathomed existed if it hadn't been for Marcus. We were able to see areas that the typical tourist driving there own vehicles would never see. We did see things that are characteristic of Moab also....arches and petroglyphs for example. Marcus will tailor the excursion to meet your needs. He had water and snacks in the vehicle. If you have them take your hiking boots. The icing on the cake was that he was much more affordable than many of his competitors.

We met up with some friends in Moab on our way back from Burning Man. Being there for one day, we…read morewanted to make the most of it. Our friends recommended we take a tour on a Unimog. We aren't really the "tour" kind of people, but the Unimog sounded fun. We called and made our reservation, and planned to meet our driver, John, at the Visitor's Center in the middle of town. This proved to be a great place to park. We met John and his very sweet dog, who rides along in the passenger seat. John loaded us up and told us he was taking us to Hell's Revenge. About five minutes after we left the Visitor's Center, we were climbing huge boulders. The Unimog is by far one of the coolest vehicles I've ever been off road in. John really knows how to use it too. John has over 30 years of offroad driving experience. He is a desert tracker, and is part of the Grand County Search & Rescue. He also loves to tell bad jokes and riddles. You will have fun on a tour with him. I'd recommend the sunset tour, because he keeps you out after the sun goes down, letting your eyes adjust to the darkening sky. Then,once it is dark, he drives back over all the boulders without turning the lights on. It's a beautiful ride and it's amazing what you can see, even without moonlight. During the tour we saw some Hummer tours and it was funny how the Hummers would take the easier route up. That Unimog can go anywhere!

Wow! We had a blast on our tour. I was not sure what to expect and didn't know much about off-road…read moretours in Moab. After calling John to talk about the tour and to get some questions answered, I decided to book my entire group of 8. We met two days later at the Visitor Center parking lot in Moab for the tour. We were gone close to 5 hours and enjoyed every minute of the excursion. John is not only an amazing driver, but great tour guide. He was funny, entertaining, and knowledgeable of the area. He is truly passionate about what he does it shows in the quality and joy of the tour. This was my first time in a Uni-Mog and it was awesome. I think this is the best off-road vehicle one can possibly have! Seriously, we crawled up and down steep slick rock like it was easy. All of the other people on the trail with other tours stopped to take our photos and marvel in this off-road thing of beauty. We had such a good time and felt safe. The prices are very reasonable and we will be back for sure!

Last year, Jeff picked up my son and me for Raptor even though we were the only 2 that morning -…read moreawesome! This year, he actually remembered me when I came riding with another friend. Jeff is AWESOME. Morning after a HEAVY rainfall, Brett was able to get us up the mountain to run Raptor again - he navigated the washed out and rutty road safely. To top it off, Jeff sent me nav locations for the meet up. Google is iffy when it comes to named locations inside parks so the actual nav points were perfect. Not only is Jeff and crew friendly and accommodating, he followed up with me periodically after sending us off, asking about trail conditions and notable viewpoints. For these reasons, Hazard County will be the ONLY shuttle service I will be using from now on.
