This is my go to Asian market, especially for Filipino food. They have a fast food restaurant and bakery in the front of the store. The food tastes good, although sometimes depending on your preference, a little on the salty side. We have catered from here for parties as well, and got great compliments on the food so it's easy to recommend this place. I've had great experience all around with customer service. The workers along the isles are rude and never know what im looking for. They don't know what some veggies are and they don't know practically 80% of what they have in their inventory. The workers look like they just don't want to help. The girls at the cashier ate fine. Its highly unorganized here. Its very dirty and the produce, meats, seafood is not fresh. The fruits and veggies are often spoiled, old, and look compromised. Also, its very expensive here. They sometimes have sales on shrimp but that's all really. I come here to buy packaged things like dry noodles or bottled ingredients. I buy here as a last resort. My greatest peeve about this place is the entrance. You have to walk through the check out line to go into the store. Or you can walk pass or through tables of people eating their disgusting food from Phil house. Was so excited to go watch and possibly participate in the LUMPIA EATING CONTEST today but, was so DISAPPOINTED to find out that they moved the contest to another location at LAKE FOREST... I saw some TENTS being set up outside and in front of the supermarket. Looks like they were selling some skewers!... I saw another friend from YELP there! @CryettiS she said she was in line for a while probably an hour or so. She was so kind enough to share her delicious fish ball skewer with me. I was saving my stomach for the LUMPIA contest so I was so hungry... It was unfortunately too HOT and the line was not moving very fast so we decided to leave the line... Stopped by here for the first time with mom and sister. The positives we noticed were that some things cost less here than in SD. Specifically, the eggplants, mangoes, fish sauce, soy sauce, and vinegars. After check out, my sister ordered some chicharon bulaklak, but IMO it was a bit too salty and overly cooked. Went back to this place, found out who was the old lady with big time attitude, raising her voice to customers. It's the manager on the ready to eat/ cooked food area. One of the staff who accidentally slip thru our conversation , that it's the manager , when we described her, and she was known as Per the said staff, as mean, and that is how she usually act. This is a great alternative if you're tired of 88 Ranch in Temecula. The prices can be cheaper depending on what you're buying. We found most ingredients we wanted for our sinigang dish. This place is newer, organized, and cleaner than other comparable markets in the area. *Plus side is that they offer military discounts! Service is good. My partner and I ate at the little restaurant while we were shopping, food was decent for a whole grilled tilapia, tocino, and rice. I will try the fried bangus next time we visit. read more

I ordered the following: Bibingkang Malagkit, Carioca Langka, Turin, Kutsinta, Chicken Empanadas, 2 Bibingkas, and Coconut Macaroons. Sorry I forgot to take photos of the dazzling array of goodies. Service was very friendly and quick. The place was clean and bright. Not much of an ambiance since it's a casual counter experience. What I love about this place is that they combine an easy in restaurant with an Asian grocery store. There aren't many Asian groceries stores in the area so I'm happy that they have this location in the area. The restaurant portion of the business is pretty awesome. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with the bakery section. They have a great variety of Filipino desserts and snacks from pandesal (Filipino buns) to ensamada (buns topped with sweetened butter) and beyond. You turn the corner and the vast amount of Filipinl dish options await you. You can order a la carte but the best option would be to go with their combos. Okayyy so I was craving something crispy and crunchy. I needed some crispy chicken skin and I am glad this market sells them!! I grabbed some sweet and spicy sauce on the market side and got myself a 1/2 lb of chicken skin in the cafeteria across from it. While in line, I also saw some fried intestines and fried mini lumpia. Of course, I had to get them too! :P They all go super well with that sweet and spicy sauce. Super glad this market exists. The market side almost exclusively carries Filipino ingredients, so it's a niche place. (Comparing to 88 Ranch or 99 Ranch market). The ambiance is expected for Asian market. Bonus points for all the ready-to-eat food in the cafeteria. They even have tables and chairs there for you to enjoy the delicious food if you can't wait to get home. My first time here was within the first year it had opened. I found the entrance and the area where the cooked food is available, seemed dark and worn. I came here with my mom because a friend informed me that Tuesday is Senior Discount Day. I'm sure my mom would appreciate that part of visiting. I found the food to be pretty darn good, as for mom it could use some improvement. It didn't surprise me that was her reaction since she is a Filipina and has been cooking our selections for years! No cooking like moms cooking.... Any who, I enjoyed most of the food and packed up our leftovers and went on our way to the grocery shopping part of the store. By the way, the customer service and the food area was a hit and miss with 'friendliness' part. We didn't have the same employee serving us throughout. We hit the fresh fish area and after mom selected her choices we went to the counter where they exchanged fish and numbers. When the fish were cleaned our number was called, didn't take more than 10mins. This area was being stocked with ice and fish. It was clean and organized as well. I found this to be the same throughout the store. The aisles are quite narrow, especially in the produce area, this can be very frustrating. There is a lot to find here as far as Asian ingredient's you are bound to find what you are looking for. There is a designated to line up for check out. Sadly, the food is not fresh. I understand they are cutting on cost but there is no integrity with their food. This Filipino shop was my go to for take out when I don't want to cook. Once you get in line, it will take an average of 20 mins just to pay even if there's only 3 people in that line. It's slow, but I wait because that's the Filipino culture. However, the food not being fresh is unacceptable especially for the price. Lumpia and smelt are soggy, not even warm. Same with the fish. I've been lucky to get fresh food on the weekends when it's busy.... But expect to wait in a long line. Those Titas take forever but all good, we wait. Island Pacific, if you find this review, please update your food and make it fresh. I would never serve food at my house to my guests that are a day old. This place is selling moldy bakery items. It's so effing gross. I had the displeasure of not noticing it until I ate a piece. I checked the date on the price sticker and it was still 5 days before it's best use. The customer service in the meat section sucks. I want to give a higher rating to this place, I really do. The market itself is fine. It's a medium-sized grocery store with mostly Filipino and Asian specialty foods. There is a bakery section in the front. Most items are well-stocked and organized. The seafood service area is a little confusing since someone may redirect you to another colleague. Spacing gets a little tight if lines are long or if busy, but the cashiers are efficient. The most disappointing part is the cooked food area. There are lots of options; standard Filipino food offerings, which I haven't tried, but we have placed special orders for occasions. Most recently, we ordered a Cebuchon (pork belly roll) & 2 Relyenong Bangus (stuffed milkfish) for our family Christmas dinner. When I came to pick up the order, staff were distracted with each other, inattentive, and--sorry to say--slow. Other customers and I waited for a while at the register, trying to flag down someone, anyone, but just got eye contact avoidance. They seemed to be prioritizing line orders rather than advanced pickups. Only 1-2 people designated handle them, and inconveniently, they were unavailable with the influx of patrons. When I was finally served, there was an additional wait because part of the order wasn't ready (only 1 bangus was made & they had to assemble the other last minute, not believing that I ordered two even though it was written on the receipt) so I ended up waiting nearly an hour past the pickup time on my ticket. Furthermore, upon opening up the food at home, we discovered the Cebuchon was not shaped in it's usual rolled form and was further cut to make it unrecognizable...basically just like a slab of lechon and not worth the money since the preparation was obviously careless, like they gave up trying after so many orders. Would have been better off buying the frozen Cebuchon (which they usually have in stock and I can attest to the final product when cooked right) for way less $$. You'll find certain things here that you may not find elsewhere, so it's a local necessity for the community. Given its further location from the freeway than the other competing Asian grocery supermarket in Temecula, unfortunately Island Pacific is a last resort stop for shopping. I would also avoid specialty orders given my last experience. read more

Had to update my review because I've been very happy with them lately. The food I ordered at the Filipino restaurant inside has been all delicious lately. Their Sisig is yummy & has a sweet savory flavor to it that I love. Their mungo & pancit was delicious too.
