What an exceptional visit to Island Ride. We spun with Autumn, studio owner, today at the 8:15 am class. We are avid spinners and really love to check local spots. This one did not disappoint. The focus on output Watts in their class, which was a different concept then what my husband and I did in the past, but it really helped with blending with the locals who are more road warriors. Music was awesome and the class was great!!! Highly recommend this studio for a vacation drop in or a local spot. Autumn is an amazing human and we got the best workout! 10/10 and we hope we can hit it one more!!!

Good quality bikes, good schedule for classes, welcoming instructor, and a good challenging class without too much choreography.

The Poipu Beach Athletic Club is awesome…read more Background: We were staying in Kauai with our our group of 8 which consisted of 5 adults and 3 kids. We had a rental house in Poipu about 5 minutes from this facility. One of the perks of our rental was we had access to this facility for the duration of the stay. Our kids are twin 11 year olds and a 7 year old. I was a bit worried about not having the hotel facilities (pool) while staying in a rental house. That's why us having access to this place was so huge for our trip. We weren't here everyday, but having it as option was huge. Facilities: They have a pool with a waterslide, sandy beach area, gym facilities, athletic courts, and their own restaurant/bar. They also have poolside service for drinks and food. We ate at their restaurant the night we flew in as we were tired from the travel day. We let the kids swim then had dinner. Very convenient and the food was decent. Service: We had great service at the pool and restaurant/bar. Food/Drinks: Large selection of the usual tropical drinks. Decent selection of food. Food is good but not great. For the atmosphere though it will definitely get the job done. Prices are very reasonable for drinks. Think 11 or 12 where if you were at a resort probably closer to 20. Food Prices decent also. They had a great special on Mimosas on Saturday and Sunday during the day. Final Thoughts: This place definitely enhanced our trip immensely. We still hit the beach daily and did some activities around the island, but having this as an option was great. I would rent the same house again just because it came with access to this spot.

This gym is reflects really poorly on 24hr and I don't understand why the company does nothing…read moreabout it. 1- immediately smells bad when you walk in, it's a gym but that's not an excuse to smell bad, I have many gym memberships in my life and this was the worst one by far, the smell is of urine, it is bad. 2- bathrooms are a complete mess (probably why the club smells like urine) 3- the machines have duct tape, torn pads, missing padding and are super rusty, this is actually a health concern as people can get cut on the damage machines and they actually hurt to use like the bicep curl scrapes your tricep it's so torn. 4- The staff just stands around and is not welcoming. 5- Please listen to everyone's reviews and renovate and hire cleaners, there are only a few gyms here and this is disrespectful to the customers and community. Please show some respect and provide a proper experience and service ITS BASIC to be clean and have equipment that won't hurt you and isn't damaged. I would gladly pay more for a membership if the gym was clean and had good equipment. 6. Kaneohe and Kapiolani are in contest to be worse than this location.

I was so excited when I signed up for 24 Hour Fitness Kapolei. I had recently moved and decided to…read moreswitch from UFC Gym because it was much closer to my new home and significantly more affordable. If you're trying to decide between UFC Gym and 24 Hour Fitness based solely on price, let me tell you, this is your sign to spend just a little extra and choose UFC. My very first experience at 24 Hour Fitness was absolutely terrible. My friend and I, two easygoing women who were genuinely excited to start working out there, were greeted by one of the rudest front desk employees I've ever encountered named napoleon. From the moment we walked in, he acted as though we had done something wrong. His attitude was cold, dismissive, and openly unfriendly and wore his dark large sunglasses indoors which I thought was strange and unprofessional. We were so uncomfortable by the way we were treated that I seriously considered speaking with a manager. What made it even more disappointing is that many women already feel intimidated walking into a gym. It can take a lot of courage to start a fitness journey, especially when you're new, trying to build confidence, or simply stepping outside your comfort zone. Imagine finally working up the courage to walk through those doors only to be met with unprofessional behavior that makes you feel unwelcome and judged. No one should have that experience. The interaction completely ruined the vibe of our workout. We actually cut our session short because we felt so uncomfortable. We left confused, discouraged, and wondering why we were being treated that way. While I can overlook older equipment, I can't overlook an environment where employees seem unhappy, angry, and uninterested in treating members with basic respect. Environment matters. The atmosphere starts the moment someone walks through the front door. At UFC Gym, I never experienced anything remotely close to this. The staff was always professional, friendly, and welcoming. The equipment is newer, the facility feels cleaner, and the overall atmosphere is much more positive. In my opinion, it's worth paying the extra money for an environment where people are willing and able to offer basic customer service and professionalism. Unfortunately, that first experience completely ruined our membership. We ended up letting our year-long memberships expire and chose not to renew. To make matters worse, when we returned another time, we were greeted by the same employee and received the same treatment, which only reinforced our decision. We barely came back after that initial incident because it left such a bad impression. To management: I strongly encourage you to pay closer attention to how your front desk staff interact with members. First impressions matter. Your front desk employees are often the first and last interaction people have with your business, and they set the tone for the entire experience. Someone who consistently makes members feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or judged may not be the best fit for a customer-facing position. A gym should be a place where people feel encouraged, supported, and motivated, not discouraged before they even start their workout.

Malia (HBL Director of Adult Education) was the Instructor with John as her assistant. I attended with a few of my friends (all of a certain age, but experienced cyclists) and we had a blast. The didactic portion is accompanied by a colorful informative booklet (great info to take home!) and Malia did an excellent job of getting through all the info which included bike safety, rules of the road, e-bike laws, e-bike legislation in HI, as well as everything one needs to know about e-bikes. We were all engaged and asked plenty of questions. What was equally impressive was the selection of different e-bikes that were available. We had the opportunity to ride two different e-bikes of our choosing and took brief rides around the parking lot. The location in Ewa was appreciated; so many opportunities are in town so it's wonderful that we are recognized. Nice to have the set up under a shady tree, late afternoon, so cooling down. And all for FREE! Easy to sign up at the HBL website. This organization is amazing for all they do in our community to make bike riding for ALL safe and fun. I appreciate all the work that went into preparing the booklet and formulating the workshop, as well as all the time it takes to prepare and breakdown, including getting all the e-bikes in and out of the truck. Would love to see the truck add a much needed lift so Malia and John can save their backs! MAHALO!
