I am happy to update my review for Islands Restaurant. I went back with my partner and brother for lunch. We had a great server, Hanna who was attentive and went above and beyond. I ordered the same burger and fries as my last visit. My burger was made perfectly, my fries were just the way I like them a bit on the crunchy side. When Hanna brought the fries, she said " I don't think they gave you enough on this order so they are making you more" and sure enough we were brought another basket with fresh and crispy fries. Both my partner and brother raved about the meal saying their burger was perfect. I am so grateful to Islands administration for requesting I try their restaurant again. I recommend Islands as they will deliver the best or make it right if you have anything other then a great dining experience. Thank you read more

This place has become one of my top favs. EVERYTHING is so good, and they're great about catering to your specific tastes and needs. Some restaurants act like you're hassling them when you want (or need) to make adjustments to your order but not islands.. They're so friendly and accommodating, and they take allergies seriously which is HUGE for any restaurant. One of the managers' names is Allison, and I really can't say enough about how great she is at her job and customer service. Restaurant manager perfection. I'd like to give her and islands 10 stars for giving me a killer place to eat with great, well seasoned/cooked food and awesome staff. Another impressive thing about this place is that they treat delivery orders as if you are eating in the restaurant. I hate to admit that most restaurants (even the really good ones) treat to go/delivery orders as low priority and often times, even as an inconvenience. Whether it's lesser quality/inconsistency of the food, or customer service, or both.. most places just aren't as good when it comes to ordering to go. First time eating here. We decided to to do take out and get various apps as the menu looked really promising. We ordered teriyaki wings with ranch, but we received Buffalo wings with no ranch. The sliders were dried up and came with a small squirt of ketchup. Green beans did not come with any of the sauces. Fries were cold and hard. Not worth it. read more

Came here for dinner but they closed and locked the door early. When We called asking the manager why he closed early he argued with us saying "according to my watch it's closing time. But I assure you it was 7 minutes when we tried the door. Then the rude behavior of the manager was the icing on the cake. We have always been good customers and tip our waiters above 20% . I'd say some customer relations training would be in order cheerfulness and kindness are lacking! read more

I've been to this Islands quite a few times and it's run well, although the word AWESOME is abused here, I understand that it's the word of the times. I have to mention that the very well done bacon is a turn off. I get that it's pork and needs to be cooked well. But when you actually have to deconstruct your burger to see exactly what it was that you bit into because it was so unnaturally hard, it's been cooked too long and shouldn't be served. Twice I've been a victim of the super hard bacon but I've learned my lesson and will skip bacon burgers here. We ordered a quesadilla for an appetizer (a first and last for us) on our most recent visit on Saturday and it was pretty thin on cheese and green chilies and was delivered with our meal. Our server's was an older gentleman named Chris. He was the nicest server I think we have ever had there! The menu was new to us since we hadn't been back to islands for a year. Your entrees don't come with sides now they are all seperate which was a little disappointing & different. I had The Bleunami Burger with sauteed mushrooms on it (which if you had it that way yet then it's a MUST TRY)!!! My side were the tempura green beans which were perfectly crunchy and had great flavor (and they give you a nice amount). My husband had the Huli Huli which is a spicy crispy chicken sandwich and he is said it was AMAZING. His side were the onion rings. They were those crumbly coated type which by far are the best batter for onion rings! Super crispy and delish!!!! We also had frozen the famous frozen mugs of beer in addition to our perfect meals!!! 3.5 stars is accurate here. I usually baseline chains at 2.5 and go from there, but this is one of my favorites. I rounded up because my server was chatty and friendly. The food, ambience and decor are consistent with other locations I have been to, but the standouts to me are the ample parking and how this place is usually not very busy. I attribute it to the fact it is close to the Promenade, which has a bunch of dining options. The fish tacos, chicken tacos, Big Wave burger, onion rings, and tortilla soup are my favorites. They have people who run food and others who specifically keep drinks full, which helps free up the servers attention. However, this place sometimes has 3 servers, which seems kinda low. I visit my daughter and her family in Temecula and saw Islands Restaurant driving by the mall. I had a hammer for lunch which was very good. I like the decor inside, it had a tropical theme. There were TV's showing different spirts such as surfing, bike racing etc. the service was pretty good, I will go back. read more

Visited here last Thursday night at 9 PM. The place was pretty quiet. The food was excellent, consistent with other Islands restaurants I have visited. What the hell? Fries don't come with the overpriced hamburger anymore! This is crazy! Add $2.99 to get a small side of fries or $6.99 for a basket for the table. A meal for 3 yesterday mind you No alcohol just iced tea was over $58.00! This isn't Ruth Chris by any means. Waitress was les than friendly. When I asked about the sides she said "oh yeah they are a side order now. We changed our meat to Organic so rather than raise the price if the burger (which I think they still did) your fries and other sides are an additional charge" I am sorry but if Red Robin can give me bottomless sides Islands should too... Since they always used too. Feels like price gouging using COVID as an excuse. Seems they would not gouge the customers that are already struggling to get back to normal and finally get to go out to eat and have a family meal inside. Sure makes me not want to go back..... Tried to dine there with our daughter for her birthday. It was her request as she loved Islands. We called from down the street to see if they were serving and inquire about the wait time. We were told 30 minutes. I asked if we could put our name in....no. Ok, we can wait. So we drove there, maybe 5 minutes. We went to put our name in and this person said the wait time is actually 1.5 hours! I said, "I just called and you said it was 30 minutes?" Her response, "I didn't speak to anyone on the phone. The wait is 1.5 hours." Ouch. Young people and their bad attitudes aren't really into customer service I guess. Much to our daughters disappointment we left. Today waiting for my food I had to witness a dude have a literal nervous breakdown on the waitress during a pick up order- to you sir I say shame on you for your display of violent and unacceptable behavior. I would be mortified to act that way in public, and from your girlfriends face, looks like she was (even though complicit in the pettiness). An error is easily fixed, and we are all human- There is never any justified excuse to slam your car door aggressively 5 times, screaming for a free gift card and refund (as if you should go back after you acted like this? I know I couldn't), and throwing your food out the window which not only got in your car (genius!) but on another customers car. I am appreciative that someone came to check on us and ensure we were okay. I just only hope our society is not so devolved where we treat people so horribly over minor inconveniences and especially when people are losing their lives. Servers are not paid nearly enough for what behavior thrown at them in covid times. Treat people with kindness- doesnt cost a thing and just remember: no refund can be given for acting rageful and/or making people feel like they are in danger. Thank you Islands team for taking action and ensuring your customers feel safe. My review is solely for the bar area, but this particular Islands probably has the best service I've received within their chain. I don't come often, but the last couple of times I've visited, I was surprised by the experience. What I expected to be any other happy hour turned out to actually be enjoyable. For one, the hosts/hostesses greet you with a pep. Secondly, the bartenders are friendly and attentive. They've got it when it comes to filling up water glasses and asking if you need a refill, as well as knowing the menu and what specials are available. Lastly, their food is still decent. Having one of their burgers (I think I've tried almost all of them over the years) with (endless!) fries brings back the good old days of my youth. The only difference now is that I enjoy my meals with a beer. Speaking of which, their Happy Hour is good and if my memory serves me right, it extends through the night during football season. They'll either have a meal deal, a drink special, or both. FYI beers are served in chilled logo mugs, if that's your thing. Oh, and the Kona Pie is their best dessert. Islands is probably not the first place that comes to mind for a good meal, but this location steps up their game and does things right. read more

Islands is always a sure thing. Whether it be a good meal or a cold drink, they are guaranteed to deliver. This location had friendly and attentive service. I sat in the bar and the restaurant has a nice upbeat vibe. Their french fries are a must order! I also had a banana daiquiri which was so tasty. It was made with real bananas and was mouth watering with the french fries. Islands also offers really good drink specials and appetizers during happy hour. Islands is a family favorite. We usually get seated right away. The endless bowl of tortilla soup is the bomb. My old favorites were the fish tacos and the Tuna sandwich. Came in and ordered chips and salsa for appatizer and I chose the Hawaiian Cheese burger. Why have i deprived myself of this amazing burger for so long! I asked for the burger well done and you get a option on white or wheat bun... I chose wheat. The burger is delicious! Pinapple, not to sweet or salty teryky sauce, mayo and I ask for no raw white onions or tomatoes. Came with a a perfectly portion size of the french fries. She ordered their chicken Cobb salad the KAANAPALI COBB. She said it's the best she's had in years. Dessert.... OMG!!! GET THE CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE!!!! BIG ENOUGH FOR 2 TO 3 PEOPLE. We visited islands tonight for a fast easy dinner. My husband got the Kilauea burger and said it was very good but very spicy. ((He has a pretty high tolerance for spicy food)) my mother in law got the veggie tacos and said she would definitely order them again. Beware, the slaw that's served on the side has a little bit of heat to it. I got the endless chicken tortilla soup which is my favorite. It's a broth based soup which makes it much lighter than some other restaurant's chicken tortilla soups. My mother in law was curious as to what was in the slaw because she wasn't expecting it to be spicy. Our waiter sent the manager over and he was able to tell her exactly how it was made and with what. Overall we had a good experience. They let my husband choose a dessert off of the menu for his birthday. We picked the lava cake. It was a pretty large portion but was only okay. I would pick something different next time. read more

Adrian the bartender is our server and he is beyond spectacular.
