Small intimate location located at the corner of Northeast 14th and NE 70th, in Carney, Iowa. The same owners of Smoky D's restaurant owns this location, however, this has the feel of a small town diner. I had the Denver omelette with the mini biscuits and gravy, extremely delicious. The pepper was a bit heavy on the gravy, but I can over look that. My partner had the whole meat omelette with the hashbrowns, again she said it was delicious. The hashbrowns needed a little more seasoning, we are able to take care of that at the table. The pastry (Jam'in Tart), was a homemade version of a pop tart. We had the strawberry filled one. Open 6 AM-2 PM every day, we visited as they started business on a Sunday morning. Literally. Plentiful parking, a roomy seating arrangement, and clean and well-lit. They serve lunch as of 1030 AM. Michelle was our server; she was outstanding, fun to chat with, kind, and truly knew the menu and its contents. She helped me select the Breakfast Burrito ($10.99), smothered with country gravy, and a great tip on including sausage (hint: get the hot salsa!)! My Way Better Half enjoyed the Build Your Own Hashbrown, which included Italian sausage, onions, bacon, hashbrowns, red bell peppers, over-easy eggs, and Swiss cheese. My only suggestion to the staff: I wish their delicious sourdough bread had butter as an option. They also have daily specials and offer them the next day as ToGo pre-packaged, refrigerated meals at the counter that looked delicious (note to self: hamballs on Fridays). This is a new restaurant in a beloved space. The owners of Smokey Ds are doing breakfast the way of the former Sorriso Grille. The remodel looks great. My only caveat is the floors and chair combination may be a little tricky for our less than sure footed folks. The chairs slide very easily. The food was very good. Not a huge menu, but good selection of tried and true favorites. Our party of 5 had a BYO omelet, avocado toast, BYO hashbrowns and the chicken fried steak. We weren't feeling too terribly hungry, so we wanted to try something light. We had driven past this place before, but it was always too busy to even enter. Luckily this time since it was during the week, it wasn't busy. We were seated right away and our order was taken. Everything was very fast. Believe it or not my pancake was all I needed. It had such great vanilla flavor and fresh. My husband loved his breakfast as well with the eggs and toast, etc. By the time we finished eating, the place started to pack up with definite regulars. My favorite part about this place, it's the cheapest breakfast we've ever found. I don't mind paying the big bucks for great food, but it's even better when it's great food for a very affordable price. They also serve lunch. It's definitely a place. We will go back and try. I had great hopes for this place, and they were not misplaced. I had breakfast, Lizzie had lunch. Both were exceptional. Let's start with the Cinnamon Pop Tart. OH MY! Rich and tasty and flaky and amazing. Get one, you will not be disappointed. Lizzie had a tenderloin. It's different from the typical tenderloin in the area. Thicker, juicier, the batter is marvelous. Definitely in my top 5 in the city. Decent fries, although I will go on my usual rant. Hand cut potatoes and deep fry them. It ends up being much less expensive and much tastier. Understand that this in no way says that neither of us liked their fries, but I am on a mission here! I had the wonderfully named Redneck Eggs Benedict. I'm going to start with the gravy, since I am a bit of a fanatic about gravy. My first question is does it need pepper? Most do for me. This most certainly did not. It has a tiny bit of heat to it, and really the best compliment I can give is that it tasted like it came from the south. Us southern folk understand. The hash browns were perfect, great combination of crispy and fluffy. The eggs were done wonderfully. There was bacon in there. The biscuit was quite good (not as good as southern biscuits, but that whole mission thing again). All in all, one of the best breakfasts in the area. Go give them a try! read more

The fries were great and were seasoned nicely. I did splurge to have myself a piece of coconut cream pie. I was still there and it was excellent. *** UP and RUNNING*** Very exciting that this great place is back up and running, revamped with the new face, new name. Updated interior and still the Sorisso Grill vibe. I went within the first week of the reopening and they are packed. They are busy, and the staff are working hard. They now have pagers if there is a wait. The parking lot is a little bigger and if there is a wait you can take the pager to the car and wait. There is a little waiting area where a table used to be. The waitress was right there to get our drinks and then got pulled 6 other directions Our wait for 2 wasn't bad. The menu has been simplified and looks really good. It got right over to one of my favorite meals and ordered the eggs Benedict. South of the Border Eggs Benedict with the breakfast potatoes. I really appreciate that you can order a single or a double on this breakfast meal. My girlfriend ordered a omelette and the homemade pop tart that was suggested by the waitress. We got excited about the poptart. There was a little delay in the food but not going to be upset since this is the first week. They are still getting their barrings and the food was fantastic once it hit the table. There was so much flavor in my Eggs Benedict and the potatoes were not different from before the remodel, they were perfect. I cant wait to go back and try another meal. Great job! read more

Second to none. We've been here for breakfast several times and always been very happy with the food and service. This time we went for lunch and sat outdoors on the patio. Not only was the lunch menu much more extensive than expected, but the food superb. The patio was surprisingly comfortable. They did an amazing job finishing the patio with exquisite outdoor furniture. The patio is completely covered with a permanent roof and about a six foot wall on all sides. We also got take out too another time and my husband had to go in and order. No phone number to call ahead and order take out and one of the ladies working told him they won't be getting one either . The old Sorriso Grill reopened with a much needed makeover and new owners. Big positive for the food which are nicely priced. The servings aren't overly huge but I really don't think anyone would complain and the prices still stomp their competition in comparison. The food was delicious as I had hoped. Our server seemed rushed and I want to deduct two stars just for that. Still I think it was a bad draw. The staff does seem nice and helpful. I feel like I can confidently give this a four out of five. If our server wasn't so interested in turning our table, it's probably close to a five. Still I have to call it as I see it and if I came back and had a similar transactional experience I would be much less in love. So we will see read more
