I was a bit sad and he finally asked me to wait a few minutes so that he can tidy up the room. I couldn't wait since I was in a hurry and told him I will try it at home. When I arrived home, I tried the dress on and it was not proportional on the sides, the other side was high and the other side was low, at the back too and the stich was not properly done. I took the dress back and told the man that the alteration is not done properly. When I put on the dress he couldn't identify even a single problem. He kept saying "I can't see any problem with this dress. This dress is okay", insisting. I showed him where the problem was. Still insisting he said "Is just the material because is a stretch, I don't see anything wrong with this dress". omg I asked him to take his time and pay attention a little bit. At this stage now he was able to tell where the problem was and I left the dress. I went back for collection the following day, I collected the dress hoping everything is sorted. To my disappointment when I tried it on I was almost crying, it was now worse to the point that the front part was now funny looking. Poor little thing I should have tried it before leaving the shop. My flat mate told me to go back and ask for my money back, unfortunately that's not my nature no mater how disappointed I am. If you own one of your nice piece of clothing and you need it to be altered I do not recommend this place even if you need a last minute fix. The alteration center just off Grafton street was my rescue. I only went to the Thomas shop simply because I live in the area and thought he was professional in this industry.

This business is really Woohoo! As good as it gets!…read more Probably the best customer service experience Ive had in many years. Ive used this place before as it's so close to my place. Recently, I had all my duvets and pillows dry cleaned. I went in, asked for prices, and they offered to pick up and return everything to my house, the same day! This was beyond what I expected and very appreciated as it was really heavy and bulky. That evening, right on time, they delivered. Some items had been somewhat damaged in the cleaning process which I didn't notice until after they left. I call right away, and they came back immediately (by this time it was around 9pm, well after they closed). We went through item by item and I showed them what happened. They took everything back, and the next day they came back with everything absolutely perfect. The service and attentiveness was above and beyond. Especially since there was a problem, I was very happy with the professionalism and speed which with they resolved the issue.

Nothing showed up for shoe repair on Yelp for Malahide, only a place over in Swords--a Taxi ride away of uncertainty. I had lunch at the Siam in Malahide (recommended by a taxi driver, and it was good (see http://siamthai.ie). I casually asked the owner about a shoe repair place, and she recommend Rooney's, which she said was just around the corner. (Such directions in Ireland can be daunting). I did find the shop, which is on the lower level of the shopping centre. It's a bit hard to find. The young man in the shop was exceptionally helpful. He did a great job fixing my expensive boot, by re-glueing the sole. He had good equipment for such repairs. In general this is a nice area to stay in Ireland, and the people at every shop were most helpful. If you have a "shoe emergency," Rooney's can probably help you.

Got my boots re-heeled and re-soled in Bryan's…read more When I brought my boots in for repair the young guy (Bryan's son maybe) told me to leave my boots with them and they would be ready in two days. So I did. And I paid in advance, €28. When I went to collect them the two days later, it was a different man working there. He couldn't find them initially. It turned out they hadn't been repaired at all. The man told me to go off for about 20 minutes or so and he would repair them in the meantime. I decided to wait instead. He started to work on them and, while he was working on them, another customer came in for a heel repair. He stopped working on my boots and did the other customer's shoes straight away. He then finished the work on my boots. Being let down and then delayed like this was very disappointing and I will not return to this cobbler for any further repairs. Furthermore, one of the soles started to come loose a few months later.

Clarks traditionally make the kind of shoes I can't help but think of as school shoes. They usually…read morestick to leather in brown, black or navy and sometimes they seem to be the last bastion of flat shoes for women! Thankfully in recent years Clarks have come to embrace the fashion element of shoes while keeping their emphasis on comfort and quality. They've broadened their range to prettier shoes, so you can still get flat shoes here but now you have the option of having flowers on them. They also do heels as well, but they usually keep them to a sensible height so you're unlikely to get vertigo from any of these shoes. Many of my favourite wearable shoes (as opposed to the beautiful but unwearable ones that populate my wardrobe and never get to go outside) over the years have come from Clarks. Shoes bought here are more likely to last longer and be wearable, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore fashion!
