I ve tried many many shoe repair places in dublin...probably a regular of just 5 of thrm in the last 10 years. im delighted this place is the best i went so far in all aspects. obviously they do key cutting, shoe accessories - inc 2 types of saddle wax, fellow cyclists, jewelerry engraving and pet tags.....

Nothing showed up for shoe repair on Yelp for Malahide, only a place over in Swords--a Taxi ride away of uncertainty. I had lunch at the Siam in Malahide (recommended by a taxi driver, and it was good (see http://siamthai.ie). I casually asked the owner about a shoe repair place, and she recommend Rooney's, which she said was just around the corner. (Such directions in Ireland can be daunting). I did find the shop, which is on the lower level of the shopping centre. It's a bit hard to find. The young man in the shop was exceptionally helpful. He did a great job fixing my expensive boot, by re-glueing the sole. He had good equipment for such repairs. In general this is a nice area to stay in Ireland, and the people at every shop were most helpful. If you have a "shoe emergency," Rooney's can probably help you.

Got my boots re-heeled and re-soled in Bryan's…read more When I brought my boots in for repair the young guy (Bryan's son maybe) told me to leave my boots with them and they would be ready in two days. So I did. And I paid in advance, €28. When I went to collect them the two days later, it was a different man working there. He couldn't find them initially. It turned out they hadn't been repaired at all. The man told me to go off for about 20 minutes or so and he would repair them in the meantime. I decided to wait instead. He started to work on them and, while he was working on them, another customer came in for a heel repair. He stopped working on my boots and did the other customer's shoes straight away. He then finished the work on my boots. Being let down and then delayed like this was very disappointing and I will not return to this cobbler for any further repairs. Furthermore, one of the soles started to come loose a few months later.

That explains why this place was busy when I passed the other day. In fact it seems to be doing a thriving trade - and rightly so. So here it is, I love this place, I trust the guys completely; the feeling you get of dealing with professionals who will do their very best to repair your footware and if it is beyond repair, they will just tell you - no messing about, no trying to up-sell something you neither need nor want - that is the feeling you get here!
