It's 20 feet tall, black-and-white and features intricate Nashville-centric designs including guitars and cowboy hats. It's free and it's fun, and during mid-day/mid-week, we got right in there for our pictures.

In the early 1900s, this is where the printing and publishing industry for Nashville was located. Since then, it's been reinvented as a destination spot (as mentioned above). Great nightlife area.

Originally the city's printing hub in the early 1900s, it transformed into a popular entertainment alley in the 1940s, providing a "grittier", more intimate alternative to Broadway's honky-tonks. Our experience here included an evening of drinks and music at Alley Taps, and just enjoying a few walks up and down the street. We had already learned some of the history here from our Joyride tour, which added nicely to our exposure.

The folks there were super nice, greeted me when I entered and gave a brief introduction to the house before letting me roam free on the self-guided tour, but there simply wasn't as much of the mansion and original artifacts as I'd hoped. I enjoy touring historic mansions, but the Belmont mansion unfortunately left me wanting a bit more. Sometimes that's just what happens with historical locations that have been used over time.

This place is weird…read more You pay $15 to walk inside a full-size replica of the Parthenon, where the main attraction is an enormous white statue of Athena covered in gold leaf. And then... well, that's pretty much it. Athena herself is certainly impressive, although to my completely untrained eye she looked less like a Greek goddess and more like a giant Buddhist statue that had wandered into the wrong religion. I honestly wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. Bow? Pray? Light some incense? Take a selfie? I settled on staring at her for a few minutes and wondering where my $15 went. There was a little room showing how the sculptor made Athena, but I kept thinking there must be something more. Another exhibit. A secret passage. Something. Nope. Big Athena. Gold leaf. Thank you for coming. And perhaps my biggest question: Why is there a full-size replica of the Parthenon in Nashville in the first place? I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable historical explanation, but I almost prefer not knowing. Nashville is the Athens of the South?! Seriously, what were they thinking?!! Worth seeing? Maybe once, just because it's so bizarre. Worth $15? That's between you and Athena. Nashville has hot chicken, country music, honky-tonks... and, for reasons I still don't fully understand, the Parthenon. It's weird.

One star off because the actual Parthenon is closed for renovations when I came here…read more But other than that, this place is simply magical. As someone who has visited the original Parthenon in Athens, seeing this recreation was a treat. It really gives you an idea of what the Parthenon must have looked like back in the day. I wished the renovations were done by the time I came here since I really wanted to see the statue of Pallasaathena, but it wasn't meant to be. If I lived in Nashville, I'd probably be here all the time. I came around sunset and the park grounds was full of people sitting on blankets and having picnic style dinners and just taking it easy especially in this infernal heat and humidity.

Midtown mural that pays homage to Tennessee legend Dolly partons most famous and maybe the music industries most famous love song of all time. That song of course being "I will always love you". The mural itself features red white and blue colors the song title and a small silhouette of Dolly herself. Overall a very fun and innovative mural that sticks out as memorable on our trek through nashville to find public art.

This particular set of guitars sir in front of Curb Studio Overall was cool to check these guitars out in person after seeing them in photos, movies and tv shows for years.
