First of all, SCAM/SLIMY they hook you up with whoever fits your requirements which are ONLY age range, if they have kids or not, and their religion. They are manipulative and don't actually fine tune as you go, they just hope someone better is available next. Is it possible to give zero stars, or negative for that matter? I signed up in October of 2017. They were "so excited to set me up with the many qualified women on their service." But, when it comes down to it, they don't contact you on a regular basis to keep you updated. When you try to check in, the staff gets very short with you. And bottom line, they are scam artists who just don't want to work. I paid $2500 for a six month contact (or four dates which is longer). Jasmine sent me a few matches, and for whatever reason that person they matched me with "has decided to date their dating in another direction." I get it, not everyone is compatible with everyone. However, it was about January when they set me up with someone and we finally had a meeting. We had very little in common, having a family was my top priority and she told me she never wanted kids. It's Just Lunch also promises to have a phone meeting after your date. When I asked about mine, Jasmine got pretty short with me, when I asked to speak to a manager, Jasmine informed me that "it doesn't work that way." I was then reassigned a new dating coordinator. Donna talked to me briefly and promised to be in contact within two weeks. Five weeks later, she still hadn't contacted me back. They wanted to assign me yet another dating coordinator, but I am asking for a refund. I have filed complaints with my credit card company and the BBB. Do not use this company!! I want to take the time to write a thorough review but for now, they are the absolute worst. I paid 2800 dollars and they did not deliver anything that Catherine promised they would. I have a had one date, no profile, not in my area, complete mismatch and they don't respond in anyway to valid feedback. They don't have people to date as promised in my area, I spent an hour and a half being very specific about who I am, now I find that all I get is a photo to go on a date. Nothing else? There is no dialogue about what will work and what wont. I'm supposed to drive an hour and twenty minutes to meet someone I know nothing g about. I've asked for my money back repeatedly, even compromised at half, they offered me 300 dollars. Seriously? I got absolutely nothing but a ton of work trying to get them to respond to my concerns. I believe they don't have sufficient candidates (victims) to set you up with. They don't listen to your interests and will set you up with whoever they want. I gave them a list of pros/cons. One of my main deal breakers is distance. I wished to date someone within 10/15 miles, yet they set me up on a date that was 40 miles away. They don't have anyone in Miami?!? First date was with an individual who had been on over 12 dates; the second was individual who never signed up but was recruited to date. His profile was also incorrect. It may be a year now. The second scheduled date we were first told one night then told another night with a different time. They then waited to give me my first match 11 days after contract signing to make sure the 3 day window had passed for me to effectively cancel and get my money back. I wish I never signed up... For being match making professionals what I was matched with was not what I would expect of a professional match making service... BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! I paid $2800 and signed a contract with It's Just Lunch! The first week of July 2016 after a strong sales woman coaxed me into it. I was bullied into matches that did not fit my dating criteria by Marie A my first dating director. I finally spoke up about it and was pressured to "give him a chance because you never know." I just paid them $2800 to set me up with men that were in line with the criteria I provided...I ended up asking to have another dating director because Maria never responded to my calls or emails. Sept. 5th I got my first date - after getting a new dating director on Aug. 22nd Bianka. I was disappointed to realize none of the dating directors listened to my requirements. It wasn't that hard to realize they hadn't - my date was visibly shorter than me, did not have a degree, had no time b/c he worked 3 jobs - mechanic, bartender, and bus boy - needless to say, the career criteria was also not met. This guy even called me by the wrong name. 2nd date wasn't until Nov. 2nd 2016. Bianka misrepresented the match, describing him as a top executive at his company. He was said to have a degree this time and that he was taller than me. The date ended up living with his parents, no job, and the "executive position" was a manager of a gas station. He also showed up 30 minutes late for our date and I had to bend down to hug him goodbye. I was constantly forced to contact IJL b/c they don't reach out to but they also don't respond to you when you contact them. It'll literally be weeks. I asked for a refund 3 separate times - the first two times they talked me into staying and finally I made it clear I do not want to be their customer and I want a refund. I want a refund because the service they promised was not the service I got. I provided them dating criteria they asked for, said they would provide quality dates based off of what we put together, and they were never able to deliver on that. In total I had 2 dates over the span of 6 months for the price of $2800 - I was told in the beginning they had 9 matches for me, so I'm not sure why it took them so long to set me up on a date and why they would choose the two worst dates imaginable. When I asked for my refund, I was yelled at, talked over, barred, and finally hung-up on by a female manager at (954)990-2703 today, Dec 6th. I did call this woman back & when she answered I said, "hello, you just hung-up on me" - her response was that we were getting no where and that's why she hung-up. It seems every manager in the company called me trying to get me to reconsider and join. The things they promised verbally were not promised on the contract and I refused the service without ever having anyone look for a match for me... in writing, the same day I discovered they charged my credit card, without ever agreeing to contract. Ok. This is one of the things I did that I am ashamed of. I'm not old, I'm actually 25 and have been with my boyfriend for two years. I was 23 when I joined this service. My friend and I joined for shits and giggles. I was a serial dater at the time, so I was going out all the time with different guys. It was so much fun I never wanted to settle. However, this was not the best experience. My friend and I joined the service and we were set up on blind dates. They will have you fill out a questionnaire and interview with them to find out what kind of guy/girl you are looking for. The good thing is you go to pretty cool restaurants. The bad news is, everything else. I don't have a problem going on blind dates but I am very outgoing. The guys would contanstly complain about the service, and this was true of every guy I dated while on the service. They said there weren't enough women and that they didn't care what they had asked for in the questionnaires. It's true they didn't take into consideration what you had requested on the questionnaire. I kept getting set up with guys who were 10+ years older than me. Quite a difference. In the end, I starting dating my current boyrfriend exclusively and I decided to quit the service. They were not happy. You would think they would be since they're a DATING service and their goal is to have happy couples. Well, I guess I was shunned for meeting my bf outside of the service (met at work). The best decision I made was to get out of it. I strongly recommend NOT taking this route ladies/gents if you want to date. You can find people anywhere! Slow. You wait weeks in between dates. The profiles are limited to one or two photos and a bullet point description. Once you do agree to a date it takes another week or two for them to schedule. It's horrible. I have the availability to meet two or three potential matches a week but am left with one every 3-4 weeks if I'm lucky. They really limit how many people you can see in the duration of a membership. I don't think they really want people to meet matches, but to sign up for another membership when the current one expires. I opted for the $4k package which I thought would have given me some professional hands on service. That's not the case, I've had several different Dating Directors who don't communicate over the phone, email only. In addition to the fact that every time I get a new director they really don't know who I am so not so sure how they can match me. My biggest complaint is the lack of the number of dating matches. It's a numbers game, you have to go on a lot of 1st dates to even get to a 2nd. So there really is nothing special about It's Just Lunch. Below is a quick summary of my negative experience with IJL over the past 8 or so months. * I started this with Josh as my and he had no clue what he was doing. He sent me on a date with someone who was 10 years older than me with a 12 year old daughter. * On the plus side, when Josh was let go I was then put with Kevin, whose been a breath of fresh air! The first person he set me up with it went great. * Misrepresentation of their ability to introduce me to a minimum of five compatible men within my parameters. I have had 7 or so dates in a year's time, none of whom I would say came close to possessing what I described as desirable traits in a partner. When asked if there was a lack of men in my age category, my dating director said that the number of men fluctuates because many of them decide to be put on hold. In other words. * I refused a date without knowing it counted towards my minumum of 10 dates. After speaking with my dating director, Kevin, he "refunded" me that date. * The first person I had spoke to Julie was very good at her job, said she was from Baltimore, said there are tons of matches. After I signed up I never spoke to her again. We spent hours on the phone before I decided to sign up. * I asked for a prorated refund, which I was refused. I hope those of you who are considering joining IJL decide to spend your money in another. If I knew what I know now I NEVER would have done it. I'm giving this service such a low rating for two specific reasons: 1) Scheduling dates. Part of the appeal of this service is that they take over the scheduling of dates for you. But they do not do it well. I've had six dates with them. There were three times when they asked me when I would be available and ignored my input and scheduled a date I could not make. In one particular instance, they did not respond to my attempt to reschedule a date despite having a week to do so. I know it seems harsh, but to me for the price you're paying, this really shouldn't be that difficult for them to get right. 2) Matchmaking. In all six of the aforementioned dates, dates were scheduled with matches that didn't really fit my criteria. In one particular instance I tried to say I did not wish to go on a date with one of the matches only to have the matchmaker respond in exasperation and try to force it on me. There hasn't been a single date that I've felt the need to call back for a second date. Granted, I understand that this part is like shooting in the dark sometimes, but I'm mostly criticizing them for not the hard selling tactics. I would give this service a good review if they just did the basics right. I don't think it's too much to ask to schedule a date at the right time and to listen to what your customer is saying.
