We washed it down with a couple of Coca-Cola's to make the perfect light lunch. Two pizzas were plenty for three of us to have all we wanted. Bars present their Pintxos mid day and again in the early evening. Txalupa wasn't our first choice, but it was certainly a favourite during our recent trip to Spain. When we arrived in San Sebastian, we consulted Rick Steves' Spain 2011 and other Tour Book information, but unfortunately (and repeatedly) discovered that all the favourites were closed on Monday. So after observing another rolled down metal door, we walked around a bit, saw a place that looked interesting (and busy), and chose. Txalupa was causal, friendly, and the Pinxos were excellent. The Spain v Portugal game was on so the vibe was "Let's cheer our home town guys to victory".
