Nice Roman ruins close to Sevilla. You'll need a car to easily get here from the Old Town area and you can see the ruins In about an hour. It's my third visit to Sevilla but I didn't know this place existed on prior visits. Admission is only €1.50. read more
Roman ruins on the outskirts of Seville. I went on a hotter day but was surprised that so few people were here. The impressive amphitheater was used to film Game of Thrones, and I particularly enjoyed seeing the many mosaic floors that have been preserved. If you like history or archaeology this is a great afternoon trip out of town. Easily accessible by city bus. Bring water and snacks--there is literally nothing else around here. read more

When we visited Italica we were met by two (2) individuals (www.traianeum.com) offering to be tour guides and then paying at the end "as we see fit." We were assigned César and wow!!!! He was simply a-ma-zing! César had excellent knowledge of the history behind Italica. He also brought with him books, plans, and poster-size pictures that captured the scope Italica in its heyday and allowed you so see it then and now. The amount of specifics that César provided throughout the tour was fantastic. He definitely enhanced the experience from a touristic one to an educational one. For the Game of Thrones fans, Italica was were Daenerys met Cersei for the first time (and all of other main characters were also present) and Cersei saw a white walker for the first time. I would highly, highly, highly recommend reaching out to him as it is worth your time and money. read more
