So, we did a quick about-face, straight into Warrens! I ordered a few pasties including a Cheese & Onion, my husband got his favorite, a sausage roll (actually I'm pretty sure he got 2!), and I ordered a bacon and cheese bomb! This bacon bomb was easily the best pasty I've ever had! In the bacon bomb they use an incredible tasting strong cheese which made a world of a difference! I wish they used that cheese in the cheese and onion pasty, but sadly no. That pasty was only lukewarm too, so this item was forgettable. However, this bacon and cheese bomb was outstanding! It was so so so good that I immediately raved about it to my brother- and sister-in-law who immediately marched back to Warrens to order their own. Even my mother-in-law who doesn't usually like pasties (or any meat with cheese item) absolutely loved this pasty. This is a must order! Get the bacon and cheese bomb; you won't regret it.

There is no better pastie to buy, the Dewdney family have it sussed! One downside is the ridiculously high price of cans of drink and other 'extras'. Sadly, this seems to be the norm for the city centre, as specialist shops always add a huge mark-up to the other things they sell. I sometimes think they should just up the price of the pasties if they can't make enough money without charging so much for the extras.

Barnecutt's is a great bakery serving a variety of hot food, bread and cakes, but what I really love is the pizza. For £1.50 you can get a decent sized slice of hot pizza. There's tomato, cheese & pineapple, pepperoni and vegetarian to choose from, all delicious. The base is really thick, sauce full of flavour and they don't skimp on the cheese. I cannot fault it. My only complaint is that you can't buy full pizzas. Like a lot of their hot snacks, they are served to you in a 3 sided box for easy street-eating and then wrapped in a paper bag. The staff are friendly and everything is well made, super tasty and good value for money. A word of warning for anyone hoping to visit the Liskeard bakery: get in quick before the lunch time rush or you might miss out on the good stuff! There aren't enough bakeries like this left in the UK and we need to support those we have left!
