She loved the school but it needed a lot of physical work. Ceilings falling in, walls cracking and extremely bad electrical system. She had a teacher whom was extremely sick and my daughter had multiple substitutes and all the students were behind. But the staff was friendly and teachers were knowledgable.

It's a nice vibe here because it's nestled right in the heart of the city. As a place to be a student, I found it to be pretty good overall. Now, with 25 years passing, I have no idea if the professors or education are like the past. But, I think the UT system does a decent job. I was well prepared for the future -- attending higher ranked graduate schools. UTC is what you make of it. Overall: Worth checking out if you want an urban campus that's not overwhelmingly big.

Two students had hats with another wearing a hood, and she said that only teachers are allowed to wear hats, but then she doesn't reprimand the two girls with hats on. She singled out the male student that had the hood on. 2. Rawson touches/pushes the students down in their seats when they are standing. She has done this to many of the students in the classroom. 3. She seems unable to keep her mask on her face properly. Why bother having it on if not to wear it correctly? I get that talking for a long time can take the breath out of you, but at least move away from the students to take it off. 4. The amount of texts/remind messages she sends about assignments are frankly absurd. We are in high school, not pre-k. We really don't need nightly messages about stuff we are already aware of.

I have used the skills I have learned here in my professional career. I've been taught to multitask, how to tutor and speak to students as well as work with students of any age and ability level. Kids cannot be treated like they are adults at this age and you can tell by how they are treated in here they feel miserable. I worked here and for the work you are doing should be paid more than $7.25 an hour for multi tasking and working one on one with 2 kids at a time. This included: reading, writing and tutoring each child for over an hour and half for each child. Regular one on one tutoring at other companys are hourly $30+ and up.

You'll find out about holiday related events, film festivals, art shows, world reknown speakers, and classes, to name a few things. I met a lifelong friend a couple years ago when I happened upon an event that this organization was co-sponsoring. They're always trying new ways to engage with all communities in Chattanooga. Last week I attended a virtual cooking class they were co-sponsoring. The recipe was a unique take on chocolate cake for me. It was cool to learn about new ingredient possibilities and hear from cooks all over the world as some made the recipe and some just discussed other possible ingredient substitutions in each step. Everyone was so genuinely friendly and kind, even virtually.
